Being a great QB is not JUST about not making mistakes. Of course you want to avoid turnovers, but Brett Favre has the most picks in NFL history, and is still considered one of the all time greats. Why? Because he threw for a shitload of yards, touchdowns, and won games. Luck is just a rookie, he will clean up the picks. But we've yet to see if RG3 can be a dominant passing QB. My guess is NO.Crazy Levi wrote:Luck will have over a DOZEN more INTs than RG3
Think about that. A DOZEN.
And hey, I never gave a shit about Total QBR before someone on this board convinced me how important it was. Turns out they were right!

Re: Andrew Luck = #1 QBR Total Quarterback Rating in NFL!!
Last year's leader in total QBR was Aaron Rodgers. He also won the MVP. What a phony stat!!1!11
The reason Total QBR is an important stat is because it takes into account real life situations, not just stats. It's definitely an advanced stat, and probably too hard for many of you simple minded folks to understand.
QB rating is an antiquated stat and means nothing. It was developed in the 70s and isn't that relevant to today's game. I'd rather look at ESPN's total QBR, which takes into account far more information than the basic passer rating.

Amazing how we suddenly stopped hearing about the wondrous virtues of ESPN's Total QBR as soon as Andrew Leaf began to slide down the ratings like Bret's cock down P13's poop chute...
Who saw THAT coming?

Re: Andrew Luck = #1 QBR Total Quarterback Rating in NFL!!
And I still stand by all those statements, including my previous one where I said it's an important stat. You have failed, Levy. I'm not a hypocrite like you.

WHAT A HYPOCRITE!!!
This is gonna haunt him if he ever runs for office.
That and the photo of him riding Bret's limp dick.
And if it's an "important stat," why doesn't it bother our nutswinging tarzan that Andrew Leaf's QBR has been dropping WEEKLY since about week 7 of the season?

What's different? I said it's an important stat then. I say it's an important stat now. If you think otherwise, it's due to your lack of reading comprehension and brain cells.NeverSurrender wrote:

Favre is usually toward the back end of a top 10 QB's, list his INT's and the fact that He hung around for the sole purpose of stat padding pretty much killed any chance He had at a top 5, and for the most part he was always a turnover machine. Just google top QB's ever(and I don't mean fan lists) and You'll notice even Marino and his zero rings average higher on the all time list than Favre. , Favre isent in the same league as Young, Unitas, Montana, Elway, Brady or Manning, and the biggest reason for that was because He turned it over so fucking much and made some of the dumbest plays You'd ever see a QB attempt, Fuck I remember seeing the guy throw it backwards without looking at least a dozen times.poizond13 wrote:

I'm gonna have to agree with NS on that one. Young was a very good QB, but he's not as good as the other guys you mentioned. He's probably not even regarded as high as Favre.dtmfs wrote:Hell no, other than the rest of the AFC east I hate the niners more than any other team, I just noticed Young averaged higher on the list at places like SI, Fox sports etc.NeverSurrender wrote:

Re: Andrew Luck = #1 QBR Total Quarterback Rating in NFL!!
Young also spent his PRIME sitting behind Joe Montana on the bench.
Steve Young would easily be in the discussion for top 5 if he'd started his whole career, I think.
But my real question is this - since we've established that in fact Total QBR is an "important stat," and always has been, why is it no longer relevant now that Andrew Leaf has plummeted all the way to NINE and heading south faster than a Mexican in Arizona?
Suddenly it seems as though P13 doesn't want to celebrate - or even explain - Leaf's standing in this very "important" statistical category.
What's up with that anyway? Just a few weeks ago it's all he could talk about.

Young is a Super Bowl win away from being below Fouts, Marino and Tarkenton.
And he needs to get rid of the comb forward.

It's an important stat. One currently occupied at #4 by Robert Griffin III and #9 (and falling) by Andrew Leaf.

Re: Andrew Luck = #1 QBR Total Quarterback Rating in NFL!!
I think why so many rank him high was because He started out in the USFL and put up some pretty damn good numbers for a QB who sat on a bench for such a long time, IMO, And I always get killed for it but Montana and Young both benifited from being surrounded by all pro talent on both sides of the ball. It's useless but fun to imagine what a QB like Warren Moon, Elway or Marino would've done on those stacked teams.bane wrote:I'm gonna have to agree with NS on that one. He's already below Marino, but considerably higher on the totem pole than the other two. Does anybody really care about his hair?NeverSurrender wrote:Young is a Super Bowl win away from being below Fouts, Marino and Tarkenton.

Of course, the Redskins and RG3 could ALSO win their division. Wouldn't that throw a wrench into things? I think both teams going from the gutter to the title would be quite an accomplishment and truly an epic rookie season from both.
but those several dozen Luck INTs would surely put him behind RG3 should both win the division, or make it to the playoffs.

If both were to win division titles, yes, I agree. They both have a tough row to hoe to get there. The Skins have a better shot IMO as long as Griffin can go. Houston would have to roll over and die for Luck to pull it off.

Hmm. Seems I was a little premature.
Andrew Leaf is currently #11.
NUMBER 11!!!
Out of the top ten. How low will he go?
Very troubling.
This is an important stat.
Meanwhile, RG3 is #5, and Russel Wilson is #7.
Well, at least Leaf is having a better rookie year than Weeden.
