I wasn't really digging Face Miz until last night's Smackdown. The prospect of a Miz/Damien Sandow feud has me giddy. Just the spots have the potential to be epic!

SLD, you are the last person I would expect to like wrestling, just based on how you are in other threads.
I'm going to try and make it out to Wacken next summer, lets get pissed in almighty Germany

Some middle-weight Ring Of Honor douchebag putting a end to Taker's streak.........no fuckin' way!!Royal Dudeness wrote:I'm ready to see the Undertaker's streak ended by someone like Punk. Undertaker is going to retire soon and it would be a wise business move to have him lose to someone to help that someone be elevated even greater.
If anyone does it should be the Rock or Triple H.

Exactly, what good would either having Rock or HHH beating Undertaker serve? None whatsoever.DOWN2WHISKEY wrote:Rock or HHH.....that wouldn't be good for the business as a whole, it'd be good for buyrates and attendance but that is it. They need to elevate new stars, and one of the best ways to do it is by having the Undertaker lose to one of them. Seriously, this isn't boxing or MMA, it's pro scripted wrestling, and his legend will still be that of one of the all time greats even if the streak ends.
And also, when he's retired, what will be so important about the streak? Selling a few extra dvd's?

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
They do have to be careful about who they choose to end the streak (if they end it at all). There was talk a few years ago about having Mr. Kennedy end it. Then he got hurt, had a bad backstage attitude (by some reports) and the next thing you know he's released. Having him end it would have been a total waste in retrospect. I think that's at least part of the thinking behind the streak still standing.Royal Dudeness wrote: Exactly, what good would either having Rock or HHH beating Undertaker serve? None whatsoever.

I really don't see any point in ending it. It could be used as a bench mark for years to come and they could even have somebody else come up behind him with their own streak later and use Taker's streak in order to generate more excitement about it.

Nobody is going to end the streak. I think he should just leave it at 20-0.I can't see Taker even in a limited role being able to make it up to 25-0. 21 or 22-0 is just not a good number.
Where's Izzy?

Couldn't stomach Wacken anymore for like ten years now. Come one day early and check out Berlin. Not such a detour and I'll show you around. Might even bang your woman's butt where they used to gas jews. Anything to help a comrade out.

Even their throwaway PPVs beat Wrestlemania these days. Of course, that doesn't matter because they don't draw massive crowds that make you feel less embarrassed about watching rasslin in the first place.

I think she got the venue basically for free due to the fact that she's well connected in Texas. That and TNA is trying to become a fixture in the TX market.Space Bear wrote:LAglamrocker wrote:Dixie Dumbass, WOW this even dumb for you

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
A place like the Alamodome is desperate for events. The new stadiums in Dallas and Houston cockblock it from landing any major league bowl games and things like that. The idea that place would be home to both the Spurs (gone to a new arena a decade ago) and an NFL team is long past. I know they've modernized their theater/arena style set up to try and bring in concerts and anything else they can.
Having wrestling in the endzone of stadiums is hardly new. The Von Ehrics did it on some of their Texas Stadium supercards. And it's not like the legendary Flair/Steamboat 2 out of 3 falls match in the Louisiana Superdome was on the 50 yard line in front of 60,000 people.

Yeah, but you can do the math yourself on exactly how long the reign is going to last. We all know he's doing the J.O.B. at the P.P.V. to The R.O.C.K...The Cusack wrote:390 days and counting!

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
You think he's going to drop the belt to The Rock? I wasn't even sure that was a title match. I mean, I guess The Rock could run with the belt from Rumble to Wrestlemania while he's not making movies but they haven't done that sort of thing since Hulk Hogan or Steve Austin. I mean, I doubt Dwayne will be on WWE TV every week like Punk so does it make sense? I'm definitely a Rock fan but not sure that he should have another run with the title if he's not going to be around. Of course if he's used as a transitional champ, drops the belt to Cena at WM (Cena has that receipt from last year) and then it's Cena/Punk all over again that would make sense.Monty610 wrote:Yeah, but you can do the math yourself on exactly how long the reign is going to last. Rock's definitely getting a title run. 3 months is a decent enough amount, he can squeeze TV in for that long. The bad part is that it will lead to another Cena title reign.

That honor would go to the "winning" streak Sid Vicious had when he was feuding with Goldberg in 99/00.

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
The Rock is definitely going over. And yes, it's a title match. That was the whole point of Rock's last visit to RAW, to announce that he had a title match with whoever was WWE Champ at RR. This whole thing has been the setup for Rock/Cena II and "For The Belt" this time. Whoever wins the RR itself will thus get the World Title shot. They want to elevate the title match back to the legit main event position at Mania.
But yes, Rock is so getting the WWE strap. Now, where that leaves Punk I'm not sure. Maybe Punk will continue his feud with Ryberg. But there is no way that Rock is going to job to Punk...

Having The Rock win the belt during the first quarter of 2013 is a massive $$$ swing for WWE. Merchandise, ratings and huge PPV buys. The guy is their biggest draw outside of Stone Cold and they are fools not to have him go over Punk, who at this point is physically wore down and over exposed with this extended title run.

Yes but it would also be a slap in the face of the die hard fans because they know the Rock would only be a transitional champion. Everyone knows he is only doing this for money and not for the love of doing it. If he wins the title he will just give it to Cena, and he will go back to making movies. If he was gonna stay full time then maybe he would deserve the title but we know he is not gonna stay.ParaDime77 wrote:Having The Rock win the belt during the first quarter of 2013 is a massive $$$ swing for WWE. he does care about the fans
the reason WWE is in some parts of the world is because Vinces cares. Those places would not have an attitude era WWE on tv in those places, so Vinces makes it so other countries can get WWE, if anything he cares too much and sacrifices WWE attitude for the rest of the world

The only thing worse than a Rock title reign is a Cena title reign to follow.
It'll be money, but predictable and boring as hell.
I would absolutely flip if Cena wins the belt from the Rock at WrestleMania...only for Dolph Ziggler to cash in at the end somehow and "steal the show". I don't think that one has been done before, and it would be huge.
