Poor P13...

Colts STRUGGLING to back into the playoffs as a second-place wild card in a terrible division
Andrew Leaf playing worse every week and tumbling out of ROY contention
His rival Texans once again won his pathetic division
And the Redskins - who he hates for some reason - about to win the NFC East

No wonder the excuses are flowing like a river of sewage.

You're ignoring the facts and trolling like usual.

Winning 5 out of 7 isn't "struggling" or "backing in."

9-5 > 8-6.

The Colts are currently in the first wild card slot, not the 2nd.

But clearly the facts are not something that interests you.

The Redskins have the same record as the Colts in the previous 7 games, 5-2. So according to Levy, the Skins are also "struggling" and "backing in" to the playoffs.

Technically the two teams are in different boats.
Colts are unable to win the division because that has been secure by Houston
In the last 5 games the Colts are 3-2.
Skins are 5-0 in the last 5 games. Plus, the Skins are still eligible to win their division.

Not that I give a shit, but those are the facts and I posted 'em for everybody to read.

Aldon Smith and JJ Watt are both 3.5 sacks away from breaking the sack record. I could see both doing it. It gets a little tougher with the chances of Watt sitting for week 17 though. He sacked Luck 3 times yesterday and hit him 4 more. If he plays against the Colts, I think he pulls it off. Smith probably does it too. He gets Arizonas Swiss cheese line in the last game.

All true, but the most important fact still stands:

9-5 > 8-6

I hope one of that breaks that faux record.

Hey I got nothing but love for AP and his chance to break the record. But Calvin Johnson is only 182 yards away from breaking the receiving record. That is only 91 yards per game, less yards than he has averaged all year.

The only thing that scares me about his chances is facing a Bears D in the last game of the season that knows that.

I sure do: the Colts have had a better record than the Skins all year.

And with the Jets losing tonight, the Colts have essentially clinched a playoff berth. We can lose out and the only way we would not make the playoffs is if the Bengals and Steelers tie next week. So the Colts are in the playoffs with two weeks left, while the Redskins have a small chance of making it, and will have to win out to do so.

And another 100 yard game to break the record for 100 yard games in a row. That & the draft, it's what we Pontiac Pussycat fans have this season.

As someone who still has a rooting interest in the Jets, it was nice to see them put out of their misery last night. Time to close the book on Sanchez, no matter what it costs. Hell, the Panthers cut Jake Delhomme when they still owed him $12.5 million. :|

And traded up to do it.

When all is said and done, does Russell surpass Leaf as the official biggest bust of all time?

I don't think so, not with Leaf's spectacular press meltdowns, and of course his subsequent career as a recidivist criminal and awesome mugshots, which even "purple drank" can't outshine. You also can't think about Leaf without thinking of Peyton Manning, they are ironically paired for life.

And Russell is still young, you never know, stranger things have happened than a comeback.

I did the opposite, and tuned in for the last quarter. Sanchez is finished. Rex looks like he's finished too. This year was a complete disaster from the Tebow trade all the way through Sanchez' final turnover.

I think Leaf was the bigger bust because of his epic meltdowns and he gave NFL fans several years of comedy and disappointment.
Russell was literally out of the league before anybody noticed he was actually in the league.
The sum of $$ he "earned" made all the headlines. If he would have played several years and gave us some quality meltdowns on the field or bloopers that would last a lifetime, than maybe he could have passed Leaf by with ease.

They picked Marinovich too. The Raiders have to have the worst drafting history in the league.

Other than Pat Haden and Carson Palmer, why have USC QBs sucked so much in the NFL?

They do not have the skills to play well in the NFL.
Just because a college QB is great, wins a national championship, takes the team to the Rose Bowl or is fortunate enough to win a Heisman, does not mean the QB is going to have success in the NFL.

There are certain QB's that clearly show they are at best a back-up QB to be in the NFL
Leinert is a good example
Sanchez is another good example

Tom Brady was a 7th round pick, but his arm is far stronger than Leinert and Sanchez.
Could that be the difference between being a failure or successful?
I'm not saying I knew that Brady was going to be a success, but drafting him in the 7th round as opposed to the 1st was a good decision.

I don't think even Brady knew he was capable of the kind of success he has had. He definitely had the work ethic to try to get it though. Maybe THAT's the reason.

I have made it very clear that for the most part I am not in favor
of drafting a QB with the #1 pick. Add to that, probably with a top 20 pick.
I believe a team can get a lot more value with that pick on another position.

Anybody with 2 good eyes could plainly see that both Leinert and Sanchez
were not going to become top flight NFL QB's.
The Jets made a huge mistake picking him and then compounded that mistake by trading for Tebow. Another underachiever who plays special teams.
Which team puts their #2 QB on special teams? Obviously a team that does not believe the player is a legit QB.

absolutely -- success at quarterback certainly has a physical component, but the mental / decisionmaking component is also HUGE, and that comes largely from preparation, excellent coaching, and more preparation. Sure, you have to have good mental analytic skills, but it's one part of the game that can be taught/learned and can be an equalizer over raw talent.

Brady's success has a lot to do with tremendous work ethic and being fortunate to have been surrounded by a great coaching / management system. Peyton is a somewhat similar story, although a more talented arm, probably.

In similar ways, you could say the same story about Joe Montana. Not the most physically gifted quarterbacks by a long stretch, but great system and coaching helped him be an amazing quarterback (don't know anything about his work ethic, tho)

It's actually hard to believe that this is a purported "NFL" organization. I mean, you really can't script a more ridiculous plan than (1) recruiting Manning (which essentially indicated that you knew Sanchez was not the future); (2) then, failing at Manning, signing a crazy contract with Sanchez (the guy you didn't believe in 30 minutes ago) with that kind of guaranteed money; (3) then Tebow, and (4) basically having no offensive skills players on an anemic offense to start with, but adding Sporano. Holy shit.

Now, if that weren't bad enough, you then run an offensive scheme that is so poorly designed and executed that high school teams would be embarrassed to play like that. Last night was unfucking believably awful -- and the insertion of Tebow during the ONLY time all night that Sanchez looked semi-okay shows what a boneheads Sporano and Ryan are.

I honestly don't know what the fuck they can do to right the ship quickly. I think Sporano is gone. Sadly, I think Sanchez stays (how can they eat that money, and he has zero trade value), but they get some veteran lunkhead to push him and probably end up "managing the game." Tannenbaum is gone.

But I think Rex the buffoon stays? I mean, the only conceivable thing Jets have of value is a semi-decent defense, that gets better with Revis. And the only good thing Rex can do is run that defense -- I suspect you to try to use those pieces as a band-aid, while you build an offense that can at least compete at the collegiate level with a new offensive coordinator (loser Norv Turner?) and get a QB that simply doesn't lose games for you - kind of what Sanchez was in 2009/10?

Fuck if I know . . . .

Kraft and Belichick must be cackling their heads off...
