One of the main bummers for me is with a shortened season we won't see many fighters playing as the games early will be pretty important. A guy like Westgarth who would probably see decent time the first few weeks might not get in a game now! Love the game but my guilty pleasure is still a good heavyweight scrap!

But the fighters these days suck compared to the greatest fighting era ever with Probert, Kocur, Nilan, Kordic, Ewen, Plett, Semenko, McSorely, Twist, etc.
I still have a videotape called Probert/Kocur the Bruise Brothers! Greatest fights ever!

Where are you getting this from?
Have you seen how many of these he's posted since the lockout started? Ignore this like everyone else.

You say that as if its a bad thing. Not much room on that team for Westgarth to have much ice time.....thankfully the depth will see to that.
Oh I know but what can I say? I still enjoy a good heavyweight scrap but the NHL and pretty much all other leagues are eliminating that role.

i've got hundreds of tapes/dvds and that one is a top 5 for sure especially with the commentary of Mickey Redmond as he really loved calling the fights!! God I miss the days of guys like Darin Kimble,Gord Donnelly,Basil McRae.....

Well, how many did Nystrom score that he wasn't offsides on?! I was more of a Clark Gillies/Barry Beck man myself but Nystrom was great, wish his son had a better pro career though.

Nystrom wan't offsides. That was a play earlier in the game.
8th most goals in team history, 3rd most fights. They don't call him MR. Islander for nothing. And his kid is a fine role player, I like him.

I was just giving you a little shit but in my opinion he was off sides on that particular play. Still a great player and I just hoped too see a little more out of his son Eric as I had him pegged to be a very good 2nd liner. Still time for him I guess if we ever get the season going!!

Yeah, those guys were great too! The greatest years in NHL history were 80-95. It will NEVER be that good again! Best fighters, best scorers, best action!
And Mike Bossy is the greatest goal scorer ever only next to Lemieux in his prime. Bossy had 9 straight 50 goal seasons! Hull, Gretzky, Lemieux, and the rest never did that!
I was talking about the one where there was a drop pass around the blueline, maybe it was Gillies and Sutter and not Nystrom and yes I'm incredibly blind if you've seen some of my ex's! Not an Isles hater by the way and I can assure you I'm no Flyers guy although with all the ex Flyers on the Kings maybe I should thank Philly!

gretzky had over 50 in each of his first 9 years.
Actually if you count playoffs (which I assume you are) he had 11 straight seasons of 50+ goals.
You're welcome

WRONG! It was 8 seasons for Gretzky and of course I meant regular season only. The thing is Gretzky played on an all star team in Edmonton but once he went to LA he only had one 50 goal season and 1 150 pt. Season! I recall an ESPN analyst saying if Lemieux was on those Oilers instead of Gretz he would've gotten 300 points in a season!
Look at Gretzky's stats below and you'll see he had 8 straight 50 goal seasons from 79-80 to 86-87.

My comment clearly indicated I was talking about the playoffs as well as the regular season. You're either an idiot or a troll. Either way go back to talking about Ratt and the Republicans.
LMAO! You call someone a troll just because you were OWNED dickhead! I've followed hockey long enough to know that when you discuss records like the most consecutive 50 goal seasons it applies to regular season only!
You're so fucking stupid and have nothing to say in response so you simply say "troll"!

Your inability to read my post which clearly states that I was including playoffs shows how retarded you are.

I know, but that one is the stanley cup winner.
I hate the Flyers, but I like Tim Kerr, he owns my Ice Flyers.
as much as everyone wants hockey back right now..
it almost seems pointless at this time.. with only 48 games of the season..
it isn't a full season game... too many rules to take in place to make up for lost time
almost feel like they should have cancelled the whole season.. and start fresh next season..
