Cubes rebuilt the Mavericks into a juggernaut. Reaching 67 wins and two Finals appearances with one championship over the Miami Heat. The Irsay era? One Superbowl win against the worst QB to ever play in a Superbowl. And the shitty QB almost won.

As usual, Reggie Wayne is 100% spot on.
Colts WR Reggie Wayne felt disrespected by Ray Lewis' closing act
By Mike Chappell, Indianapolis Star
Reggie Wayne believes the officials missed a call late in the Colts’ playoff loss at Baltimore Sunday afternoon.
A flag should have been thrown in the closing seconds for excessive celebration. Too much hoopla over Ray Lewis’ final home game. Way too much. Over-the-top too much.
With the 24-9 AFC wild-card playoff decision firmly in hand and the scoreboard clock ticking down, the Ravens were in their victory formation. Take a couple of Joe Flacco knees and walk off the field.
However, with about 50 seconds remaining, coach John Harbaugh inserted Lewis in the game as the deep back. It was all for show. At game’s end, Lewis did his demonstrative dance once again. In the middle of the field. With the M&T Bank sellout crowd roaring his every gyration.
Wayne looked on from the sideline, just a bit miffed.
“He’s a big friend of mine,’’ he said during his Monday radio show on 1260 WNDE. “Me personally, I kind of felt like it was a sign of disrespect.’’
Wayne and Lewis are products of the University of Miami. Wayne understands what Lewis has meant to the Ravens’ franchise and they share a brotherhood that is forever. A few days prior to the game, Lewis announced he’ll retire at the end of Baltimore’s latest playoff run. He’s the face of the Ravens and a no-doubt first-ballot Hall of Famer. But . . .
“Just disrespect on the point that he’s a defensive player and they . . . put him on the offense,’’ Wayne said. “If they had just took the knee and he would have just waved and ‘Thank you’ to the fans, that’s different. But when they did the dance, I took that the hard way.
“I’m speaking for myself. I’m not sure how everybody else feels. I can understand it I guess. But at the same time, every quarter they did a tribute to him. There was some kind of tribute on the big screen to him. So I mean, it was enough. What else you need? ‘OK, we know you’re retiring.’ I respect that. I respect everything you do and it’s well deserved. But we done saw enough.’’

I didn't even know about Lewis's post game dance until I heard Reggie's statement. I turned the game off after the Colts relinquished the ball to the Ravens for the last time. I did not want to see the ensuing celebration. Had I seen it, I would have voiced my displeasure with it right away. I agree with Reggie 100%. He's one of my favorite players of all time, but that's not why I agree with him. I agree with him because he's right.bigbuttskinner wrote:You would have never uttered a word about Ray dancing or anything unless a colt said something. Am I really that far ahead of you in COLTS news?
I'm still trying to figure out why you thought to rally around BUTTHURTSTRONG. Do you really think that kind of butthurt makes your team look GOOD? If my team were making butthurt excuses I certainly wouldn't have proudly cut and pasted it here.
Reggie Wayne is a great player but just like Marvin "The murderer" Harrison he's a no-class bitch.
Your team played like shit. Shut the fuck up and go home. You never heard Peyton Manning whining and making excuses after playoff losses, and he sure had a lot of them.
In fact, of all the losing playoff teams this weekend, and the only butthurt is coming from the Colts - the Redskins, Vikings, and Bengals all handled it with class. It's only 2 years ago, but it seems like decades since Peyton and Dungy/Caldwell were running the show there. What a bunch of low-class amateurs.

I heard Reggie's comments on his radio show Monday. He was asked a question and he replied honestly. Personally, I agree with him 100%. He also stated he's good friends with Ray Lewis and has the utmost respect for him. He didn't mind the tributes and dances to start the game and after every quarter. But he thought putting in Lewis on offense at the end of the game was excessive, and I agree.

Excessive? It wasn't like he hit anyone or made any sort of offensive play. To be on the field as the final seconds ticked off in your farewell to the place that has been your home stadium your entire career?
I don't even like Lewis, but even I can understand this being a memorable way to go out and say goodbye to the fans who loved him..

Even if The skins have to go with Cousins, in a small sample size He looked pretty good, I don't even know the stats and again, small sample size but I'm guessing He was more efficient during his play than Andrew George who was one of the least efficient mother fuckers in the league.

Yep. Cousins' one full game he had MUCH better stats than your average Andrew Leaf outing.dtmfs wrote:Even if The skins have to go with Cousins, in a small sample size He looked pretty good, I don't even know the stats and again, small sample size but I'm guessing He was more efficient during his play than Andrew George who was one of the least efficient mother fuckers in the league.
He went 26-of-37 passes for 329 yards with 2 touchdown passes, and became the third Redskin this season to get Rookie of the Week.
I feel the Redskins could easily get off to at least a 3-3 start with Cousins. By that time RG3 should be ready to go, though many are saying they expect him to be ready opening day.
Skins fans-
We ain't got no worries.

Kirk Cousins stats from Sunday's game:
3/10 31 yards
Yeah the skins are in good hands alright.

COLTS HONORED FOR COMPLETED SEASON
http://www.colts.com/news/article-1/COL ... 42d01157e2
INDIANAPOLIS – The Colts had one of the greatest one-season turnarounds in NFL history in 2012 going from 2-14 to 11-5.
The nine-game jump from 2011 tied for the third-best improvement in league history.
It was accomplished with a new general manager and head coach, along with an interim leader when Chuck Pagano was forced to be absent while battling leukemia.
The performance by Indianapolis has resulted in a few post-season awards. Ryan Grigson has been selected by Pro Football Weekly and the Professional Football Writers Association as the NFL Executive of the Year.
Pagano and interim head coach Bruce Arians have been chosen as co-winners of the AFC Coach-of-the-Year by the Committee of 101 in Kansas City, and they will be honored at the prestigious 101 Awards gala in March. Additionally, they have been selected as winners of the 24th Greasy Neale Professional Coach-of-the-Year Award from the Maxwell Football Club.
Arians himself was cited by Pro Football Weekly and the Professional Football Writers Association as the NFL Coach-of-the-Year and the Assistant Coach-of-the-Year.
Grigson joined the Colts last January and crafted a roster that blended a small number of returning veterans with seasoned and rookie newcomers. Well more than half of the roster that ended the season was comprised of players with no more than three years of experience. There were nine rookies and 13 players on injured reserve as the Colts ended the year.
Grigson succeeded Bill Polian in Indianapolis, and Polian was a past winner of the award. Grigson brought players from the Canadian League, the UFL, the AFL and the IFL to Indianapolis. One player, Jerrell Freeman, topped the team with 203 tackles while starting 16 games. Grigson’s draft class gained more scrimmage yards (3,108) than any other in the league since 1970.
Pagano was in his first season as head coach, but had to leave the squad for 12 games. Arians daily perpetuated the message of his dear friend Pagano. After each practice, the team broke with the chant, “1-2-3, Chuck,” and Arians requested the lights be left on in Pagano’s office until he could return.
Pagano kept in electronic contact with players and Arians during his absence. He visited the team before and after a 23-20 home win over Miami and congratulated his troops on their commitment.
Arians was 9-3 in subbing for Pagano, tying the NFL mark for wins by an interim leader. Arians returned the reins to Pagano for the December 30 finale against Houston.
The work both men performed led to them being named co-winners 101 Award. This prominent group has saluted NFL leaders for the past 42 years, and a number of Colts have been honored, including individuals such as Tony Dungy, Peyton Manning and John Teerlinck.
Pagano and Arians will be honored in a banquet in Kansas City on Saturday, March 2.
The tandem will be honored with the Greasy Neale Award from the Maxwell Football Club. The award presentation will take place at the annual gala on Friday, March 1 in Atlantic City.
Arians, additionally, has been named the NFL Coach-of-the-Year and the NFL Assistant Coach-of- the-Year by the PFW/PFWA. The head coaching award dates back to 1968, and Arians joins Don Shula (1968) and Ted Marchibroda (1975) as Colts coaches to gain the honor. He is the first Colts assistant to win the honor that has been presented since 1993, and he is the first individual ever to win both awards in the same year.
Arians and Pagano were able to lead the Colts through a season without consecutive losses, an accomplishment done just nine times in franchise history.
The PFW/PFWA also cited two Colts – tight end Dwayne Allen and wide receiver T.Y. Hilton – to the NFL All-Rookie Team.
Allen set the club seasonal tight end rookie record with 45 receptions. He had 521 reception yards and three touchdowns while starting 16 games.
Hilton had 50 receptions for 861 yards and a team-leading seven touchdowns. Hilton set the club rookie record with five 100-plus yardage games. He also was named to the publication’s rookie squad as the punt returner. Hilton had an 11.5 average on 26 returns. He became the first Colts player ever with a punt return and reception for a touchdown in the team’s 20-13 victory over Buffalo on November 25.
Allen and Hilton were third-round picks of the Colts in 2012.

Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III was named Pro Football Weekly/Pro Football Writers of America Rookie of the Year and NFL offensive rookie of the year, the team announced Monday.
The annual award is selected by Pro Football Weekly editors and contributors along with members of the pro football writers group.
Griffin completed 258 of 393 passes for 3,200 yards, 20 touchdowns and only five interceptions during his rookie campaign, posting a passer rating of 102.4. He also carried the ball 120 times for 815 yards and seven touchdowns. Griffin’s 102.4 passer rating, his 1.3 interception percentage and 814 rushing yards all are NFL records for rookies.
The honor is a good sign for Griffin, who also is a candidate for the Associated Press rookie of the year honor, which is considered the main rookie of the year award and will be announced on Feb. 2. The Rams’ Sam Bradford and the Panthers’ Cam Newton won PFW/PFWA rookie of the year honors and then went on to win the AP rookie of the year.
Griffin’s teammates Alfred Morris and London Fletcher earned second-team honors on the Associated Press’s All-Pro team this past weekend.
Morris rushed for 1,613 yards (second in the NFL) and 13 touchdowns this season. Minnesota’s Adrian Peterson and Seattle’s Marshawn Lynch earned first-team nods ahead of Morris.
Fletcher recorded 139 tackles, eighth-most in the NFL, and five interceptions (tops among linebackers) as well as three sacks.
Making the first team ahead of Fletcher were San Francisco inside linebackers Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman.
