In the MVP vote, the website claims 612 players were polled. Peterson was picked on 56.5 percent of the ballots, while Manning was picked on 35.5 percent.
In the Comeback Player of the Year vote, Peterson was the choice of 59.6 percent of the 433 players polled. Manning had 38.3 percent of the votes.

Excellent.
Make sure to create 4 different Vikings threads and then post this exact same article in every single one of them just like a certain soon-to-have-an-embarrassing-sig jerk off does here all the time.
I'm not surprised that he's going to win comeback player of the year over Manning, he deserves it. NOBODY saw this coming and it's amazing. Peyton had well over a year and a half to nurse himself back to playing shape.

Maybe since I'm so nice to you all the time you could put AD in his sig if he beats bitch boy too.

Damn, that's gonna be one crowded sig.NeverSurrender wrote:Maybe since I'm so nice to you all the time you could put AD in his sig if he beats bitch boy too.
It really depends...I think we already have a winner, and while it doesn't touch on all the things that even *I* would like to see, it is sufficiently humiliating.
But we'll see. If I end up making one from scratch it'll have as much shit in there as I can stuff.
Maybe he'll make you a sidebet. I'm sure he still thinks Peyton is gonna win comeback player of the year.
And hey, AP and RG3 had the same guy do their knees, right? That fills me with optimism.

Since when is Peterson referred to as AD? Comeback player should be his, but he made a really strong case for MVP too. I figured if he got one of them, Manning would get the other one. Both had outstanding seasons coming off of horrendous injuries.

His nickname is All Day. His father gave it to him when he was 8 because he never stopped moving. Viking fans usually lol at people who call him AP. That's not his nickname. His nickname is All Day or AD. Many fans even get this jersey:bane wrote:Since when is Peterson referred to as AD? Comeback player should be his, but he made a really strong case for MVP too. Since this season apparently.bane wrote:Since when is Peterson referred to as AD? Comeback player should be his, but he made a really strong case for MVP too. I figured if he got one of them, Manning would get the other one. Both had outstanding seasons coming off of horrendous injuries.
The only reason it actually exists is so that people in the know - IE Vikings fans - can chastise people who call him AP.
AD, by the way, stands for "All Day." As in he'll do it "all day."
AP is better.

OK, fair enough.
But this season was the first I've heard of it - even from you.
Has "AD" really been the go-to nickname during his entire Vikes career?

I call him by his name on the boards. The only reason I typed it there is so it would fit. i knew it would boggle minds.

Huh. Color me slightly less ignorant. I guess he was lucky to get a cool nickname when he was 8. He could have ended up with something like Booger.

I first heard about it years ago, and I'm fairly sure I've got access to far less in the way of NFL news and info than most of you.Crazy Levi wrote:OK, fair enough.

I live right down the road from the stadium where the Oklahoma Sooners play and he was known as AD the entire three years he played here.
And I'm still butthurt that he didn't win the Heisman his Freshman year what he did was every bit as good as "Johnny Football".

AD had the stats to win the Heisman that year.
I remember watching footage of him during the spring game that year. He was running circles around the
1st team Defense that day.
The story how Stoops discovered/met AD is a good one.
Stoops went to Vegas to recruit Ryan Reynolds(#8 who eventually went to OU as a LB)
AD had a basketball and he threw down a slam drunk in front of Stoops.
That's how they met and Stoops & the OU staff kept an eye on AD and recruited him
to play for US

His freshman year was unbelievable but back then it was taboo to give a freshman the Heisman it was an award enough that he got invited to the award show
so they gave it to Matt fuckin Leinart.

Meathead didn't know, and it's our fault.
