Roger Dodger - 4/10. Fucking awful, pseudo-profound . . . dark comedy? It has Isabella Rosselini and Jessie from Saved By The Bell, though.

I couldn't find that one online, so I considered buying it. What's so bad about it? The cast sounds pretty damn promising. They still have Thunder & Lightning, Tit & Tat Girl, plus some new dude called Shitkicker and another one called Jean-Claude Seagal.

It's shot really dark, on exceptionally cramped sets. With quick cut scenes. Half the time you can't tell what's going on. It's frustrating to watch. And the ending is stupid.

Ah, I thought it was actually enjoyable in a big, (really) dumb, fun way. Not nearly in the same league with the first 2 though.

Maybe my expectations were too high, but it wasn't funny to me.

Maybe I was actually more like "WTF?" than laughing. :P

The Stone
Robert DeNiro, Edward Norton, Milla Jovovich & Frances Conroy.

A DeNiro movie release used to be an event but that ceased some time around 1997. How a movie with this ensemble cast went completely under the radar says a lot about some of the out right bad movie scripts DeNiro has taken aver the last decade. At any rate, this is a good drama. Four people living four different lies. DeNiro is in classic form. Norton is good. Jovovich, all she has to do is be eye candy, right? Her seductress role is actually pretty well played out. Conroy's role is minimal, but that is her role in the sham of a marriage she has with DeNiro's lead character so it fits. Movie moves rather slowly but has its moments, raises enough questions about the human condition, threw a couple surprises in at the end, and then concluded it all nicely enough. 8/10

Movie 43 - 7/10

This made me laugh.
Wasn't into the Superhero Speed Dating scene, but enjoyed the rest of it.
When I got to the last one, I about died.

Hick - 7/10. The little shit who played Nic Cage's sidekick in Kick-Ass in a lead role. She's pretty amazing. So is the retard boy from The Yellow Handkerchief, who kind of plays the same role here, only with more violence and rape.

388 Arletta Avenue(2011) with Nick Stahl and Devon Sawa good movie but the ending just killed it, theres no payoff at the end , not even a clue to who did it. 6/10

The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio - 6/10. Not bad, but kind of too positive for my tastes. And with its rather blatant feminist message probably downright frustrating for most guys of Sludge.

'The Raven' ....1/10...I fucking hated it. It seriously made me sick to my stomach how offensive it was to me. Such a cool concept ruined by portraying Poe the way they did.

A phenomenal cast and promising concept pissed into the wind by a horrible script.

The Grey - 7.5/10 - Watched this again the other day, don't know why, but I like this film, I find it's exploration of the fear of the death and the futility of the plight of it's characters interesting
Taken 2 - 6.5/10- Not as good as I had hoped, and very predictable, but not bad.
Django Unchained 9.5/10 - Fucking brilliant
Flight 8/10 - Did Denzel get nominated for this yet?

Killer Joe - 7/10. Really funny in places but dark in others. Worth it alone to see Gina Gershon 's muff & Juno Temple (Who was superb) nude. Emile Hirsch & Matthew McConnaghy were excellent too.

Les Miserables - 7/10. Very well done but one more for the ladies I think. Battle scenes were disappointing.
Was told to bring some tissues, but I couldn't find anything to masturbate to!

Alex Cross 5/10 stars

For those who were busy the week it was out, this was the Tyler Perry movie where he plays the title character, a cop who is in pursuit of a maniacal assassin played by Matthew Fox.
There are a whole lotta problems here.
For starters, its Media playing a cop. I could never get past the fact. He was also completely miscast in the role. Ed Burns is okay as the sidekick, I thought Rachel Nichols (who played the hot stalked victim in P3) was a little underused.
The only redeeming thing in this movie is Matthew Fox, who really had very little to go on in terms of character development, but does a decent job playing the pissed off relentless bad guy out for revenge.
About seven minutes into the movie, I was already rooting for Picasso.

Finally got around to Skyfall. Go figure, the first 007 I skipped out on theatrically since Moonraker and I wind up loving it! I didn't particularly care for Craig's take on Bond in the last two so I didn't expect to dig this one. Daniel Craig's Bond finally had some of 007's trademark humor and gadgets and Javier Bardem made for a fantastic antagonist. I sooooo wanted to see him die. OK, Daniel Craig, I'm a believer! 8)
