The guy in Cali is a completely different case than the Texas shooting.

Not sure where you pulled a "two week surveillance" from, I've never heard of such a thing from my brother or other military friends, but even if true, is not going to completely diagnose PTSD...

And that "counseling" isn't exactly top notch medical care now is it? Our government is known for throwing veterans away like trash and giving them the cheapest medical care they can. They are done with you, and care even less than they did when they were sending you to kill and possibly get killed.

A family friend of ours has an unbelievably raging case of PTSD; his brain is oatmeal from the meds he is on. Permanent disability, can't work or be around others again because of the things he saw and did in Iraq/Afghanistan. He's been back for 3 years now and he is STILL fighting for full benefits (I won't even get into the fact that he needs knee replacements from jumping out of planes but the military won't cover them). Any help these guys are getting from our Government is a JOKE and should be completely discounted in situations like this; in fact I'm sure that frustration with the lack of care and compassion from Uncle Sam is an exacerbating factor in a lot of incidents like this.

First of all, I'm not a nurse - I'm a therapist. That's been common knowledge around here for damn near 10 years.

Second, the cop killer isn't a victim because nobody took him under their "expert" wing and offered to rehabilitate him using clinical procedures without a clinical license.

Third, if you had ever worked at or spent a considerable amount of time in a VA hospital, you'd know that exit interview doesn't mean shit. It's how they clear themselves of responsibility and dump it on Veteran's Affairs to (not) deal with.

So no, you're not lying - you're just talking out of your ass. SSDD.

As far as I know, the USMC are the only arm of the military that currently gets this "de-marine" conditioning. They spend 4 years turning these guys into killing machines, and basically try to flip the switch in 2 weeks.

This is what I was told by a guy I used to date, no idea if it's actually true. I'd love to hear from some other ex-Marines about it.
