Check out this very dirty play by a college pitcher on a runner
trying to score.

The pitcher was suspended for his actions. I can't imagine this sort of play would happen in MLB.
I bet it could.

Exactly. I have my own problems. I just love the not so subtle digs the Sox/Yanks fans give each other while I have my own problems on the north side.

Best pitcher to ever throw only one pitch?

Here's the cutter. Again. Good luck.

Very true!

All through the years Mo has always talked about how in ST he would
work on his change-up. This has come to be somewhat of a joke because
when has he thrown a change-up in the 9th inning? I can't remember.
I wonder, just wonder if he will finally save the change-up for his grand
finale. Wouldn't that be interesting if the pitch is almost as lethal
as his cutter

Unbelieveable. The stars from the Selig era sure have fallen mightly. Manny, Arod, Sheffield, Bonds, Giambi, Clemens, Tejada, Pettite ( who won't make the Hall ), Sosa, Mcgwire, etc.

Manny went limping off to Japan, his legacy is disappointing. No one in the hall has 500 HRs and 500 2Bs, in fact no one in baseball does except Manny. Way to end your career before PEDs he was argueabley the greatest RHH of all time. Now?

Q: Now that your retired who's the best hitter you ever saw?

( Curt Schilling ) A: Manny Ramirez, there's not even a close second.

There is nothing like seeing that motherfucker step into the batter's box. You just know something is about to happen. It's almost surreal really.

Before PEDs? Problem is we don't know when before PEDs was. We know of at least 3 failed tests including the one in 2003 when he was that incredible hitter you are talking about. I agree its messed up what these guys have done to their legacies and its next to impossible now to know how much was legit and PED free. For all we know, he was juicing just like ARod for the bulk of his career. Either way, his numbers are just as invalid as those of Sosa, ARod and the others. His dumb ass managed to get caught 3 times which is pretty unreal.

Baseball will and absolutely should celebrate the hell out of Mariano Rivera's career. He damn near stands alone from that era in a lot of ways. Imagine how happy MLB must be to have that guy around to promote and embrace to ease the stench of so many others from the past many years. He will live forever and so many of these guys will always be associated with PEDs as opposed to their career numbers.

Fuck the greedy owners who charge outrageous prices
for Spring Training tickets. Saw this article and wanted to share.

Top tickets sold Tuesday at the Braves' ballpark at Walt Disney World Resort went for $54.
All over Florida and Arizona, teams are paying the price. Spring training attendance is off and several things are to blame, aside from pricey tickets - early start, cold weather and lineups depleted by injuries and players dispatched to the World Baseball Classic.
Attendance is nearly 14 percent lower than it was at a similar point last year, Stats LLC said.

It costs more than $25 for a good seat at most spring parks. Several teams vary their prices depending on the opponent or the day - a ticket behind the third-base dugout to see the World Series champion Giants host Colorado on Sunday sold for $68.75 on the team's online site.

When I said "before PEDs" I meant before we knew about them. Everything is tarnished now. I thought that was implied.

Alright Cubbies  Hey maybe if the Cubs played in the WBC team America ( the only one filled with major leaguers ) could finally advance to the championship round.

It’s his tendon sheath that’s partially torn.
Surgery is not on the table at the moment.
If the sheath was fully torn, like Bautista suffered last year after returning to soon from a wrist injury, then surgery would be required and Tex would
miss the 2013 season.
For now rest is the option and the hope is Tex is ready to play again
sometime in May.

Dominican Republic goes undeated in WBC and beat Puerto Rico 3-0 to claim championship. Robinson Cano wins MVP.

Kung Fu Panda has an inflamed ulnar nerve in his right elbow accompanied by bone spurs. He played Winter League and WBC so Bochy doesn't think he'll take many ABs to be ready after resting.

SF struggled to repeat in 2011 due to injuries ( 2012 MVP Buster Posey say's "sup?" ). I still think the Giants ( health permitting ) are the team to beat.

Yankees Phil Hughes may have to start season on DL with bulging disk in his back.
Yankees sign old friend Chien-Ming Wang to a minor league contract.

Not sure if I am a fan of this trade. Wells was horrible last year.
Yankees are reported to pay around $13M for his services this year
and next.
Curious to learn which players the Yankees will send to Anaheim in
exchange for Wells.

Learned last night, Overbay has a 3 day tryout. Yankees have to decide on
Friday whether me makes the team or not.
Dan Johnson was the leading candidate to win a back-up job once Tex was injured, but Dan has committed the most errors this spring and his average is around .100
Might as well look at Overbay.

The Wells trade was a good one. Yankees gave up to A ball players in return.
Wells can play LF everyday until Granderson returns in early/mid May.

No surprise Jeter will start the season on the DL. I was shocked at how well he was progressing from the broken ankle. That's a major injury. He needs more time to heal and work out the rust.

Fox Sports Tim McCarver has announced this MLB season
will be his final season as a broadcaster!!

Words can't express how happy this makes me feel.
He and Buck are the worst duo on national t.v. going today.
They have been the worst duo, televising the most high profile MLB games for many, many years.

The trade surprised me as well.
Listen, if Granderson does not break his forearm this spring, Well is not needed in The Bronx.
Yankees have a need and they decided to trade for a veteran who has great career stats at Yankee Stadium.
Might work out well. Might be a horrible trade.
Despite eating a large part of the contract, the team only gave the Angels 2 Low A ball players.
