with the plan to back off CM Punk's schedulingto allow him to heal up some nagging injuries, this might be precursor to a Punk face-turn and a Punk v Lesnar/w Paul Hayman.
Interesting point...

The funny thing is I always thought Punk's streak with the title was going to end with Heyman/Lesnar screwing him, hence turning Punk back to a Face, but still enabling him to keep his "Stone Cold"-esque persona and not being a full on heel as he is now.

UW has confirmed as recently as late last year that he has established a good relationship with Triple H especially and that the HOF and a new DVD set may not be that far off after all. And that both will happen "when the time is right for them and me."

Which some are saying is next year in New Orleans or the year after in Dallas. It doesn't make sense to have him in this year in NYC with Bruno and Mick Foley going in. It does make sense to have him go in when it gets to New Orleans or especially Dallas. Same for Jake 'The Snake' Roberts and Scott Hall/Kevin Nash who are all rumored for it within the next two years.

I don't care what anyone says or thinks of the Warrior. He deserves to be in the HOF.

trouble is, CM Punk isn't front and center. They really wanted the strap on Rock for 'mania to do the Cena v Rock II. Ultimately I look for a triology out of that one culminating in a WM30 "superfight".
Punk will get screwed by Heyman, the only real question at this point is will it be Lesnar or a swerve, like The Shield. I could see it being The Shield, at 'mania, screwing Punk out of the Undertaker defeat, with Heyman laughing on the Tron, telling Punk he was too weak, thus starting a Lesnar title run.

REID FLAIR PASSES AWAY
03-29-2013 12:55:57

Reid Flair, the youngest son of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, has passed away, PWInsider.com has sadly confirmed. He was only 24 years old.

Reid was found this morning in Charlotte, North Carolina. He had just returned from working for All Japan.

Reid was seen in the latter days of WCW, where both he and his father had heads shaved as part of an angle where Ric feuded with Vince Russo. Reid later began training as a pro wrestler under Bobby Eaton and George South, but personal issues, including a heroin arrest, sidetracked what was expected to be instant stardom for Reid, who had an excellent amateur pedigree.

At one point, he was slated to debut with Ring of Honor when the promotion was owned by Cary Silkin, but the arrest caused ROH to back off on those plans. That led to the beginning of the end of their relationship with Ric Flair.

Since then, there had been talk of Reid going to WWE developmental and the company had taken a look at him, but didn't sign him to a contract. He had been working in All Japan and was slated to make appearances with Ric this weekend in Maryland.

Our deepest condolences to the Flair family during what can only be described as a tragic, sad day.

Man that's fucked up. When I had heard a couple years ago he was nailed for heroin it was very sad, that's not the business to be in if you are already shooting dope. Terrible news.

Damn I was just watching a recent RF Shoot interview with Ric and he was saying how Reid was going to be a big star in the future, such a shame his life was cut so short R.I.P. Reid

Ric's an emotional guy as it is so this is beyond devastating for him. He adored Reid and would always dote on what a huge star he was going to be.

He was found unresponsive at a Residence Inn in Charlotte. Their local media are reporting signs of a drug overdose.

Thoughts, love and good mojo to Naitch.

I could see it being The Shield, at 'mania, screwing Punk out of the Undertaker defeat, with Heyman laughing on the Tron, telling Punk he was too weak, thus starting a Lesnar title run.
They've already hinted, Heyman in particular, that WM30 will be Rock/Lesnar so I'm not sure about a 3rd Rock/Cena, although I wouldn't be surprised. If they do go for a 3rd one they better put someone in there to make it a triple threat or something.

I can definitely see the Shield taking Punk out at Mania for a swerve. Either way, I'm thinking someone's going to cost Punk his win over Taker, and in such a way that they'll injure him so he can be out for a few weeks or months as has been reported, hence also giving Punk a slight Face turn of sorts.

But man, how I would love to see Punk end the streak. We'll see. Less than a week now!

I'm still dying to just buy tickets even if they're nosebleeds. I'm back and forth though. There are so many Wrestling related events going on in the NY/NJ area this week & weekend. I don't know where to spend my money. Should I get nosebleed Mania seats just so I can finally go to a Mania in my life? Or should I go to Axxess? Or go meet Warrior and/or Hogan in NJ or Shawn Michaels/Bret Hart in NYC?

So many choices, so little disposable income.

Those are some hard choices "brother" sorry couldn't resist, I'd probably go with seeing as much of the fan stuff as I could.

As somebody that's been to hundreds of live shows and several that were televised as well as one PPV I've come to the conclusion that the TV announcers add a great deal to the storytelling of the matches that just isn't there when you're watching it in person.

Thanks! Yeah, It's been more than 10 years since the last time I went to a live Wrestling Event. When you're a teenager or a little kid and you're there with your family or a shitload of your friends, it's going be fun no matter what. I'm thinking of doing some of the fan stuff and maybe just watching Mania at a bar or something with some friends. It's just so hard to pass up Mania being in my backyard.

I forgot that the Hall Of Fame is also happening in NYC. Not sure how worth it that is though. Have you or anyone you know ever gone to a HOF Ceremony?

No I've never been to a HOF ceremony but that shit is already sold out if you could find a ticket you'd be paying out the ass for it.

I went to the HOF ceremony in Atlanta 2 years ago. Very cool event. They do a very good job at making feel special. The talent are really honored for their contribution to the sport. There is a lot more to it than what you see on the USA special.

Strong ending to Raw! Great image with CM Punk wiping the ashes on his chest and face.

What the hell were they going to do for a storyline if Paul Bearer hadn't died?

Judging by how it started off with the 4-way match to decide who his opponent would be... it wouldn't of been nowhere nearly as entertaining. I mean, Punk would of at least made it watchable, but nothing like this I don't think.

I still think they should've done a streak vs. streak match. Punk's title reign vs. Taker's Mania streak. I mean geez... it would write itself! Punk would've been at around 500 days by then as well, which would've been more amazing.

That was a pretty weak RAW to be going into WrestleMania with & I'm typically not as harsh on WWE as some other people are. However, as usual, Punk saved it in the end. I'm glad they ended RAW with Punk/Taker rather than Rock/Cena.

On TV you see an abbreviated version. Sometimes the speeches are edited and some of the lesser names are not even shown.
Its hard to describe an "atmosphere" , but when you are there, you can tell its a special event.
The wrestlers are really moved and seem proud to be inducted.
The floor by the stage is reserved for the talent and their families. I guess it would be like going to an awards show like the Grammys or the Oscars.

I've always been a big fan of Jim Ross, I live right where the old Mid-South used to wrestle so I've watched his career since he got in the business, and if I remember right his HOF induction speech was real long so us fans that only have the USA network missed out on alot.

Nope, sorry nothing extra for the fans.
WE did have cheap seats way up in the back few rows and a rep from Phillips Arena came and got about 10-15 of us and moved us down to the right side of the stage a couple of rows off the floor. They didn't want to have any empty seats for TV.
If you have the chance the to go, I think you should take. I'm sure you will enjoy it

Looks like Punk is getting the HHH treatment at Wrestlemania:

Living Colour will be performing "Cult of Personality" live at WrestleMania on Sunday.

Will Calhoun, the band's drummer, contacted WWE and offered to perform the song on the show and WWE jumped on the idea.

I always liked Living Colour their 2nd album especially brings back some good memories.

This is pretty cool on C.M. Punk's part, this is the most publicity they've had since the early 90's.
