If a shot broke my jaw and required me to have oral surgery, I would still be laying on the ice crying like a bitch.

THIS!! UNREAL how tough NHL guys are and Crosby earns big respect with how he shook that off, even his haters must admit to that. Can you imagine if that happened to an NBA player? They'd be out for 2 seasons!Sinderella wrote:AliceManson wrote:Sinderella wrote:Sid took a shot to the mouth today! Guess he is going to be losing some of those pearly whites.

And the Pittsburgh yinzers are crying because he is going to miss more games. I don't think any city has worse fans than the city of Pittsburgh.Earl Skakel wrote:

Maybe they should tank the rest of the season to get the first pick overall again.

Blackhawks pick up Michael Handzus for a 4th round pick.
No offense at all this year, but 55% on faceoffs, which is huge for the Hawks. Other than Toews, no one on the Hawks can win a draw consistently. If they put him on the 2nd line, winning those faceoffs should lead to some assists and rebound goals for him.

A proud Steve Jones nutswinger since 1977.

I just got tickets for his debut on Thursday against the Devils. We're all delusional here. He already rules the the city and he hasn't arrived yet.AliceManson wrote:He is hellbent on playing with everybody, until they get tired of his bullshit.alecjonsludge wrote:Jagr to Boston

Re: The official NHL thread
Gotta admit I was hoping the Habs would take a shot at him, to play with Plekanec. They had major chemistry playing together during the lockout, and on past Czech world championship squads.chungasrevenge wrote:I just got tickets for his debut on Thursday against the Devils. Habs are in a tough spot. The team has great chemistry and has over-achieved. If you bring in someone, it can upset that chemistry, as nobody really deserves to lose their spot in the lineup, or be demoted to another line.
I almost hope Bergevin does nothing, as we're playing with house money this year, and have 6 choices in the first three rounds, of a very deep draft this summer.

Yeah, the Habs should just stay the course and sit. You're already contenders for this season and with the falling cap a good chance to add young and cheap. I'm looking forward to game Saturday up there.
Fuck, Bergeron is hurt.

isles have won 5 out of 6 games and are now alone in the 8th spot. The kids are finally growing up a bit and JT should win the Hart.

Re: The official NHL thread
Steve Mason to Philly. Bryzgalov likely bought out over the summer using one of their amnesty buyouts. Still a tough cheque to write, though.
ETA:
So, The Flyers trade Bobrovsky to Columbus, who breaks out, and then trade for his backup, Steve Mason. Pretty much sums up Philly's luck with goalies. The ghost of Pelle Lindbergh looms large to this day.

Re: The official NHL thread
Heating up now:
Pominville to Minnesota. Young goalie Matt Hackett in package. What does that mean for Ryan Miller?
Gaborik to Columbus for young talent.
Ben Bishop (Otw) to Tampa for Cory Conacher.
Steve Mason to Philly for Leighton + a pick.

Jackets loading up, just got Comeau from Calgary. Effective checker who has never lived up to that season in Long Island a couple years back.
As for Miller,he's expendable.Great talent, but he's poisonerd the dressing room the past two seasons.Sabres are going the "refresh mode" route.
