There are certain things that should never be- and him wearing pinstripes is one of those things.
Did you have a problem with Clemens or Boggs?

Why did he throw the additional "practice pitch"? I guess someone can say his arm was already injured before throwing the 1 extra pitch, but maybe he did significantly more damage with the extra pitch.

His slim look is very odd. I don't remember who it was on ESPN, but one of their experts mentioned that his slim look might work against him in 2014.

The Astros are on pace to shatter the season record for strikeouts before the allstar game. Is it football season yet?

Angels Jered Weaver out 4-6 weeks with a broken elbow in non-pitching arm.

How about the called 3rd strike to end the Rangers vs Rays game
last night?

WOW!!

Initially the home plate umpire ruled the ball crossed the strike zone and that the catcher did a poor job of catching the ball.

Post game the same umpire admitted he made a mistake and the pitch
was clearly a ball.

That's two blown calls that have been called against the Rays when they were mounting comebacks this year. Could be a long season!

Nobody is talking about the Greinke injury here this morning?

Greinke suffered a broken left collarbone as a result of him hitting
Carlos Quentin(again) with a 3-2 pitch.

Quentin charged and each dropped their shoulders. Since Quentin is so much stronger, Greinke obviously was going to suffer the worse fate.

I saw that last night and was waiting for his DL timetable to discuss it. Seems pretty A ball to me. Supposably Greinke mouthed off to Quentin which made him charge the mound. Bad blood or not you don't do that shit in the sixth down by a run. Stupid rookies

Now the Yankees Jr. lost their co-ace, LAAAAAA lost their ace, Josh Johnson gave up 6ER in the first, King Felix ( while still posting a QS ) gave up a career high 10 hits. Helluva start to the season for aces.

I wonder how this will effect LAD. I don't care how they look on paper or through projections, I believe their a 200m+ wild card team. Same with Toronto and Anaheim. If we learnt anything from Steinbrenner or Theo/Luccchino ( depending on who you believe ), is that building an allstar team doesn't guarantee championships. It's just massive egos, good luck with Adrian and Crawford.

Kill
These 2 teams meet again on Monday. What are the odds LA retaliates once or twice during the 1st game of that series?

Anyway, I don't think the move by Quinton was A ball. The last time he was hit by a pitch thrown by Greinke, Quinton took a couple steps toward the mound and then retreated to 1st.
I think last night he was a little more heated, but probably going to walk to 1st base again without incident.
Once Greinke mouthed off, that was the final straw and a legit reason Quinton was going to charge and shut him up for once.
Looking forward to learning what Greinke said to Quinton and how many days he will be on the DL with the busted collarbone

I guarantee especially if Greinke's out for a long time that Selig issues a warning to both sides.

When I was reading on mlb, the majority of SD players were apologetic and embarrased. Sure LA's pissed, but I think they'll be warned plenty of time in advance to keep cool.

The Angels look absolutely horrible to start the season. We haven't had a starting pitcher go six innings, the bullpen is blowing up every night, defense is below average, and the hitting with RISP is abysmal (as well as the HRs, from a supposedly powerful team). They're digging a hole just like last season and they won't be able to climb out of it.

The SP is the biggest worry. Before the injury Weavers velocity was way down. He's gonna have to be a smart pitcher to get decent results.

I'm sure that'll make the Dodgers feel better about losing their co-ace for six weeks.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I generally enjoy the Dodgers having misfortune. This, however, sucks for them. I wouldn't mind seeing Quentin suspended for a week or so to send a message.

Then they'd have to suspend Greinke when he returns from the DL. This is his 3rd time tagging Carlos, apparently the dude pissed in his Wheaties or something. Plus Zack mouthed off to him which led to the attack. I imagine Magic and co. are pretty pissed, and I'm gonna assume a warning comes down from them too. They just lost their big $$ FA.

Sounds about right. The moron was getting hit very hard by the Yankees and drilled Youk up and in.
This after he just completed serving a 6 game suspension that dated back to 2011(after he beaned a KC Royal up around the head).
Carrasco missed all of 2012 with TJ surgery.

Guess the young man did not learn his lesson. He needs anger management or simply pitch better.

They called him up from AAA simply to serve his suspension, Kamir get's injured and he has to stay up. Bam nother' suspension. The dude really knows how to fuck his team's pitching depth.

The MFY ( minus Arod and Capt. Gold Gloves ) turned a triple play this evening. This is actually pretty cool.

Should have got longer, Quentin should face the gallows or be responsible for Greinke's 147 million dollar contract.

Has anyone ever filed assault charges in sports? I want this thing to blow up too ridiculous proportions.

Huh? For what? He should be out longer than the roid monkeys' suspensions? That was like the third or forth time Grenkie hit him, Grenkie mouthed off to him afterwards so he charged.

Don't be stupid man. Don't start none, won't be none. That or send Grenkie to the Nolan Ryan School Of Whoopass. Ask Robin Ventura about it.

Quentin should know that Greinke isn't trying to hit him on a 3-2 pitch, in a one-run game, BUT if it was a control issue, Greinke could have shown a sign of respect to the hitter, as opposed to goading him. IMO Greinke "invited" Quentin out to the mound, and was an idiot for going shoulder to shoulder with a bigger, stronger man.

Plenty of blame to go around on this one.

My point exactly. Greinke apparently has it out for Quetin and if the beaning was in fact "unintentional", he should've kept his mouth shut. He crossed a line, he paid for it. Like I said earlier "don't start none, won't be none."

The Dodgers aren't just emulating NY with trying to buy success; they've got that whole douchebag angle down too.

That's ridiculous. Show a sign of respect to a guy that jumped right out of the box? Quentin is responsible for his own actions period. I suspect a couple of his teammates will get shown a sign of respect baseball style in Quentin's absence coming up this week when the teams meet again. Hopefully, Mr. Torre will look the other way when it does happen.
