and it was his brother Nick that threw it, too.
In an unrelated note, GSP is gonna be on the Rogan podcast Tuesday. I think thy're just gonna talk for hours on end because we all know GSP can't finish.

I gotta find a repeat of this fight so I can laugh my ass off.
Yes, and he did his usual arrogant, taunting, acting like he's a bad ass, and then got the fuck beat out of him. Something that hasn't been said yet, is at about the same time the ref stopped the fight, his corner through in the towel.

Yep. Nothing better than watching one of the Diaz brothers getting their ass kicked.

I doubt it will happen but I would like to see Sonnen take Jones the distance.
Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
I've never seen odds like this for a fight. Some sites are showing Jones at -1000! I'm putting $100 on Sonnen at +650. I expect to lose it, but it makes the fight more fun to watch.

Not that it makes a difference but that stoppage was early

actually it might have made a difference after seeing Jone's foot.EddieVanHeineken wrote:Not that it makes a difference but that stoppage was early
That was nasty!!
Rogan said it a couple of times, but yeah what a weird night.
Fighter dislocates thumb.
Belcher gets eye poked.
The Big Country ko. He throw that from outside the arena.
what a crazy night!

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
Outside of the Healy miller fight and Nelson ko, this was one of the worse UFC cards. That's ok though, they've been on a roll this year. 1 stinker is every now and then is tolerable. But yes it would have been interesting to see what would have happened if that fight continued. Why wasn't dean the ref? Wasn't that ref he same one who fucked up the undercard fight with ovince and villante?

Does anyone know if Bruce Buffer gets drug screened after each event? I've never seen him announce the wrong name of the winner before.
Though I have no proof, I believe he's smoking the 'pot'.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
Shane Carwin announced his retirement. With no fight in like 2 years and reoccuring injuries, I really can't say I'm surprised. Would've liked to see him vs. another power puncher with a granite chin, like Nelson or Hunt, though.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
His high point was when he took out Frank Mir & that 1st round against Lesnar.slash4pres wrote:Shane Carwin announced his retirement. JDS used his face as dart board but instead of using darts, he used his fists.
Remember in between rounds asking his corner if he can blow his nose, and they kept telling him no?

Too bad about Shane. i liked watching him fight. Unfortunately, he was always injured. I think that he was for the JDS fight. If they met 2 years earlier, I have no doubt that fight would have looked different.
All the time he was fighting, he kept working his full time job as a civil engineer in Colorado. UFC offered him something like 80 grand to quit his job and just focus on fighting. He turned it down because he wouldn't have the insurance and he was struggling with injuries and unsure if he would fight for several years. Looks like he had a good head on his shoulders and made the right choice.

a nice guy & good for the sport.
If only he didn't gas out when he fought Lesnar. He would've showed the world the fraud that Lesnar was.

From what he did to Bisping and tonight, absolutely deserves the next shot!
I never thought much of Rockhold. Tonight even more so.
His whole entrance into arena, cage, & the fight was just lackadaisical. Its almost as if he was sleep walking or something. He got blasted!
The rest of card was a big "so what".
Dunham got robbed.

What a KO! After Silva makes short work of Weidman, he should either fight Vitor again, or fight GSP.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
It just seems that people coming in from other countries either get robbed in a decision or just don't show up to fight. If the travel and fighting late at night (Brazil is a few hours ahead) doesn't do you in, it's the inept judging.yeahbuddy wrote:From what he did to Bisping and tonight, absolutely deserves the next shot!

it goes to show the fighter that fights in Brazil has to FINISH THE FIGHT!! Or at the very least do what Nick Lentz did.

Josh Barnett finally signed back with UFC. I really hope to see him vs. Mir in his first fight back.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
Decent card tomorrow night. Anybody watching it?
Cain vs Bigfoot
The first fight was Silva's first fight in the UFC, i believe. May have been some degree of octagon jitters. Can't really see this end up any differently, thought.
Junior vs Hunt
Have a feeling this will look a lot like the Junior vs Big Country fight. It would be awesome if Hunt were to ko Junior and get the title fight...just to throw a wrench in UFC's plans and make things interesting.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
Honestly other than the Co-main, the fights seem a little lop sided. I mean, anything can happen and mismatches usually make for brutal finishes, but I don't think the fights will be competitive.

I've booked this - will be the first full MM event I've ever watched. Mark Hunt's involvement piqued my interest. I remember when him and Ray Sefo were doing the K1 thing.
