Bud Selig fucked baseball so bad under his reign ( strike, cxl WS, Ruth/Maris/Aaron's records, tied All-Star game, Balco, Interleague, no salary caps, Mcgwire and the like, umpiring, etc. ), that severe doping penalties are the only way to restore the game's integrity. I'm not sure personally if this is what will work. I'm for dragging him out back and putting a bullet in him Chickenona style. Then bury him at Fairday Field.

They're not gonna do that though so severe suspensions it is.

Have two teams ever gone scoreless for 13 and BOTH score five in the 14 to force a 15th inning before?

Terry Francona has an idea who’s to blame for this current situation. That would be baseball itself in the eyes of Cleveland’s manager.

“I think the best way I can sum it up is that baseball, as an industry, we’re paying a price for burying our heads in the sand some years ago,” Francona said.

Tito sums up the situation perfectly. Of course Bud Selig would disagree with this opinion.

Nope. Also the Seattle runs came from rookie call-up Nick Frankin ( who previously absolutely destroyed AAA ) who's third homerun in 10 games was a grand slam. Unfortunatley the momentum didn't carry and Hector Noesi ( the other piece of shit player that Zuredrnick traded Pineda for ) blew the game.

That game was crazy.

Regarding the P.E.D. stuff, always a good read when this kinda thing rears its head:

Prior to tonight's draft, Ian Clarkin said he can't stand the Yankees.

Tonight, the Yankees drafted him in the first round, 33rd overall.

Have fun, Ian!

Yasiel Puig.

I've been watching sports since 78, not sure I've ever seen a start to a career like his. Wow.

He's having a helluva start that's for sure. I can't recall someone ( in their first 4 games ) who's done what he has. Jackson Profar is the top rated prospect In MLB. His call-up isn't headline worthy.

Nick Franklin of Seattle is making a splash too. 3HRs in 10 games.

The funny part is, watching this team was as bad as watching paint dry so far this season. He changed that alone. You can tell how raw he still is running the bases and making decisions, but the talent level is obviously high and boy does he have a sweet swing.

What I don't get is why Bosch would be willing to talk with MLB regardless of the lawsuit. Seems like that coming clean to MLB would definitely put him in more harms way as far as criminal prosecution goes. Perhaps things are going on behind the scenes but as of now the government doesn't seem to have a whole lot of interest in this. Right now it would seem he has some level of denial that he could push as far as in a trial but if he sits down with MLB and lays out his actions he's kind of making the case against himself for them. I know he asked MLB to put in a good word for him to the law (lol) but still very odd.

Still though, I hope they can nail ARod and Braun etc. however it goes. Union can make this one very difficult should they choose to and any other time in baseball history they would but not so sure about now and with these players. They probably should contest vigorously just based on not wanting to set the precedent for players getting suspended without failed tests and with these shady characters involved.

I've read that they also have the testimony from the MiLB players on the list. Since they're not on the major league roster they don't have protection from the union.

After all this is completed ( whatever that may mean ), Selig is going to be looked at as the worst GM in baseball's 100+ year history.

Exciting time for followers of top prospect lists.

Zack Wheeler goes Tuesdays for the Mets, the same day Wil Myers makes his debut for the Rays against Boston. :)

And a respectable career, what with the 12% walk rate and the .382 OBP.

minor update regarding ARod and Tony Bosch

Alex Rodriguez allegedly reached out to Biogenesis founder Anthony Bosch for help while struggling in last year's American League Championship Series, according to a report published on Tuesday by the Miami New Times.

Porter Fischer, a former business associate of Bosch's, told the weekly newspaper that Rodriguez had Bosch board a flight to Detroit for consultation during the postseason, when Rodriguez struggled and the Yankees were swept by the Tigers in four games.

Mr. March did well with his "help" in 2010.

I think it's fucking funny. No team with the exception of the MFY's half a billion 2010 ring has ever been successful in purchasing a championship. LAAAA, Dodgers, Boston in 2012, MFY post 2001, etc.

The Marlins had some success with purchasing a title. Yankees last won in 09 just for accuracy. Giants in 2010.

It's incredibly hard to win in baseball. Most of us who follow it understand money doesn't mean a ring. We've seen the Mets and numerous other examples besides the Yankees/Sox and others mentioned prove that out. If all those players performed up to their contracts then sure, but again we know it doesn't work that way.
