UPDATE 2:

Via Open Secrets, Snowden appears to have made two donations of $250 each. Snowden lived in both Hawaii and Maryland.

I am working on the my local and state levels to rid our governments of corrupt lying pieces of shit. We almost got Harry Reid last time but the Tea Party republicans put up Sharon Angle against him. She is so dumb she makes Michelle Bachman, or Nancy Pelosi look brilliant. The funny thing is, she is just as dumb as a box of rocks...and she almost beat Harry!

I couldn't vote for either. One's a liberal nut job, the other is a right wing nut job. I'll have to settle for the Status Quo for now.

Not sure where I've defended anything here, but to answer your question I've posted extensively about my own political activism (Steubenville, political rallies, Occupy Cincinnati, etc), job (social work), and voter registration outreach. I also teach Grassroots Leadership and Development courses.

Honestly, if this issue means that much to you, you have to find other way s to be involved or you're basically just spinning your wheels.
