I've always had the feeling he'd wind up there, and join the fine line of goalies the Bullies have signed either before or after their prime.

Just heard today that Calgary offered the Bruins their #6 pick and veteran for Seguin.
Not sure who nixed it.

And one other thing, how the hell do you not make that deal with Edmonton? Too worried that it will come bite you in the ass? If any team should be used to things biting them in the ass, it's the Canucks. You'd think they were immune to it by now.[/quote]

I'm hearing now that the Oilers didn't offer their first, a second and a prospect...but that's what Gillis wanted..who knows..he never had any intention of trading within the division..

Yep...The Philadelphia Flyers have agreed to a multi-year contract with free agent center Vincent Lecavalier.

They'd better start dumping more salary with the quickness.
Still lotsa shit to get done.

Glendale City Council capitulates to Bettman's Seattle threat. At least those 6000 fans will be happy, not sure about the police officers and city workers who will be faced with less hours/lower pay, though.

You knew he was going to get at least the Carey Price deal. They were drafted the same year and Rask has accomplished more in the NHL. A lot of years, but he's still young. Hopefully he keeps up his work ethic and edge.

Habs wouldn't go more than 3 years, which is about right IMO.

In all reality, French Canadiens don't want to play here in their primes. Too much pressure. You have a good week you are Maurice Richard; you have a bad week you're scum. Your kids get teased at school, your wife can't go shopping, people are all in your personal life.

Once guys like Lecavalier get a taste of the peaceful life of a millionaire hockey player in places where hockey is not religion, they don't usually sign up to come to this madhouse unless there are no other options. They do love to use the Habs for bargaining leverage though.

He should have come to Florida!

Hope we re-sign Peter Mueller. One of our best players last season and he's heading into Free Agency :(

I forgot to add that you also carry the hopes and dreams of the French Canadian people on your back...

Seriously though, Montreal and Toronto are at another level vs Vancouver, Boston, Philly, Chicago, Detroit et al

... and another planet compared to the sun belt.

Jarret Stoll suffers a seizure.

The best scorer in the league :Rachel Hunter, Paulina Gretzky and Erin Andrews. He's said to be fine, only concern now is to what caused it.(Hot blondes?)

Seguin for Loui Eriksson reportedly in the works. This is coming directly from Dreger and Mackenzie,Aaron Ward has nothing to do with this rumour.

Now that Phoenix is staying put, they've unveiled plans to rename the team the Arizona Coyotes ,just not in time for this season...yeah,that'll put butts in the seats.

Deal finalized.
Bruins get : Loui Eriksson Joe Morrow Reilly Smith Matt Fraser

Stars get : Tyler Seguin,Rich Peverly,Ryan Button

I like Eriksson's game, but I think the Bruins are going to miss Peverly's intangibles and grit.

Peverley was huge in the 2011 Cup run but was nonexistent in this past season including playoffs.
68 Games - 8G 12A -17.
Not worth the 3.375mil he was due this year.

Still a fan of Peverly's game/worth ethic, but at those dollars he's easily replaced, definitely a salary dump. Can't believe the Stars are loading up on salaries again,is Milbury the GM.

Yeah, Peverly looked lost this year.

I'm hoping Alfredsson is the next piece. Marybe Eriksson can have some influence there. There's a rumor that Chiarelli is well above what Ottawa is offering. Maybe 2 at $12 million? Then Rask at $7 million, bring up Svedberg as backup at $1 million and right up against it. I like that team. Sacrifice Seguin for the Swedish Infusion.

Flyers and Claude Giroux have agreed to a 8-year extension, worth about $64M.

Edited to add: And this just in - "giroux's contract is not finished yet" - holmgren

Once they are over 36, divorced from wifey, and kids are a bit older, they are happy to come home.

I like the signing, so long as it is coupled with other moves. Gionta, Desharnais, or Plekanec (hopefully not) need to be moved for a bigger player. Or the Habs needs to sign a Horton, Iginla, or Clarkson.

Stars had an interesting day, in acquiring Seguin, Horcoff, and Peverley. I LOVE Eriksson, and as much as I think Seguin will be a stud, this is a good move for the Bruins who are in "win now" mode, and have to manage the cap. This is why I think it was good for the Habs to sign Subban to a two year "bridge contract", even though he will cost more after next year. By then money will be off the books and it will be easy to pay a guy like Subban. B's should have gone: 3-year entry level deal with Seguin, then 2-year bridge, then big money contract, IMO.
