Hopefully he'll stay healthy. 2 decent (lotsa potential from both) goalies, cheap. I'm definitely okay with this.

Man this day has been terrible for the Panthers. Lost Weiss, which I knew was coming but still. And Parros has gone to the Habs.

Fuck, man...I hope they come to terms with Gagne here in Philly. Right now, Holmgren is crying poor mouth.

TSN is saying 1 year/6 million

Bruins basically traded Seguin/Peverley/Horton for Eriksson/Iginla.

Totally. Like my friend says, it's hockey not a family reunion. Homer would bring LeClair back if he still had his number.

The Isles did hardly anything, but did re-sign Travis Hamoic. My favorite player on the team.

Actually,at the end of the day, Lamoriello need only be mad at himself.

Horrible contract, even when it was fixed to not circumvent cap rules.

SERIOUSLY. If the guy notifies Lamiorello 10 days earlier, Lou can maybe make a sweeter offer to Clarkson, or go after a free agent, etc.

At the end of the day, the Devils are probably happy, because they are broke, and the team will be easier to sell not handcuffed to the remaining 77 million on Kovalchuk's contract, but from a hockey standpoint it sucks.

The NHL also needs to be a little concerned about guys "running away" to Russia, and skipping out on existing contracts, when they get great offers from Mother Russia.

Great deal for Bruins. Especially when you consider Clarkson got a seven year deal at 5.25 million a year with the Leafs.

Oh and Wolf, the Devils would have been crazy to top a deal like that. He's definitely not worth that much.

Right -it's a ton of money freed up, but it's kind of late. Who knows, maybe they'll be able to pull something off and make something of the team regardless. They've always had a 'team first' strategy, so I'm not suuuuper worried. Just peeved.

Letting Clarkson walk wasn't ideal, but he's not work $5,000,000+ a year. He was a great character, but poor Toronto! Patrik Elias can make anyone look like a star!

A legend. They should hang his number in the rafters to kick off the season. Probably the most popular athlete in Boston. Maybe Brady or Ortiz might come close in a poll.

Chiarelli close to a well deserved extension.

6.5 mil, for a 60-point/season player? Chiarelli should be fired for that ridiculous contract.

Disagree. It may be a little much in years but he does so much more than just get 60 points. The only thing that scares me is the concussion history.

We'll see how you feel about that 4-5 years from now.
