That's what that sound was? Hopefully he didn't destroy anything, because I was going to throw the Dodgers a BBQ when they get bounced from the playoffs.

Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread
Forbes says that the Houston Astros are the most profitiable team in baseball history at nearly $100 million profit..Team denies it and I'm guessing its less than Forbes says but also believe that they are making a ton while putting little into the major league product. Current payroll is $13 million... MLB needs a salary floor more than a cap.
"The Houston Astros, owners of the league’s worst record in baseball at 43-86, are the most profitable franchise in 2013, according to a Forbes report. According to the Forbes report, the Astros franchise will become the most profitable team in baseball history.
The Astros are reportedly on pace to make $99 million in operating income, thanks to a severely limited payroll and increased television revenue. The Astros, however, released a statement refuting some of the details in the report later on Monday. The team said that some of the figures relating to its revenue were off base."

Red Sox trade RHP Clayton Mortenson to KC for OF Quentin Berry.
Not sure why they didn't throw in 12 draft picks, 3 prospects and 4 of their starting pitchers.
KC got raped.
Sox got what they needed, relief pitc.....oh, wait.

Going from Vin Scully to these Cubs hacks is a brutal transition.

I don't even know their names, but one of them kept spotting celebrities in the stands and saying that they just started showing up since they won.johnk5150 wrote:Vin is the best but Len and Jim are a huge step up from Chip Caray.killeverything wrote:To be fair going from Vin Scully to anybody is a brutal transition.NeverSurrender wrote:Going from Vin Scully to these Cubs hacks is a brutal transition.
How does he know which celebrities are bandwagoners or not?
There is no bullshit graphics, no spotting celebrities in the stands, just Vin calling the game. I agree, better than Chip Carrey though.

No way. Mary Hart and Pat Sajack have sat behind home plate for years. Rob Reiner and Larry King. You can Mary Hart during any game behind home plate.
Any team playing like them has bandwagoners and real fans. And he has no clue which is which.

Last night cost King Felix another Cy. For some reason Texas is his fucking kryptonite ( 0-4, 7.75ERA this season. 20 career losses against ) and lit him up.
In a desperate move to not be fired immeadiately Zuerednick is calling up Seattle's top prospect Taijun Walker ( top pitching prospect in baseball ) to start Friday against Houston. Hopefully the indifferent owners show Z and his waterhead manager Wedge the door.
LAD picked up Edison Volquez to pitch #4.

Volquez should pitch 5th. Ricky Nilasco has done nothing to lose his job. The opposite actually.

Not with run support. Last start against he gave up a 2 run HR to Kendrick while striking out 10. Seattle was shutout.tin00can wrote:killeverything wrote:Last night cost King Felix another Cy. Puig is under the impression he is "SUPERMAN". The young man walks around as if the can do what he wants, when he wants, without having to be held accountable.
I don't think he can continue to hide behind the fact that he's a foreigner, does not understand how the game should be played, etc....
Dodgers have created a monster and now they are paying the price.

It's bad enough when the opposing teams dislike you, but to turn your own against you? It's a slippery slope reserved for the JR Ryder types.

Yeah, that 800 winning percentage since June is really a tough one.

Everything that goes up must come down.
Dodgers are 6-4 in their last 10 games.

Puig with 3 singles, a double 2 stolen bases, 1 RBI and a run scored.
Dodgers pay for having him around again. Is John done telling me there is no hate for Puig?

If they can get past the "Holy shit we're in the playoffs!!" mentality they could be a dangerous team.

Someone explain Wild Card...
Two teams make it, they play one game and the winner goes to the playoffs?
What about end of season ties and shit?
