Watched last night because I got sucked into all the hype.
I must say it was boring!!
It was like watching 12 rds of the Diaz/Condit figt except no
kicking was allowed.
The major difference for me between boxing & mma/ufc is that
the ufc gets to the point.
I can't believe all the hanger on'ers that boxing has. Watching
last night's fight reminded me of all the reasons I gave up on
the sport.

Grant is out of December 14th fight with Pettis, wasn't ready to return yet. Thompson is replacing him, I think. Should be Gil.

That's a serious concussion if he can't come back until '14. Not sure if Thompson deserves it, but he did look good against Diaz.

You mean Melendez? Hmmm, I think you are right.

Barnett vs Browne has been added to the year end fight.
Shaping up to be a great card.
I might go to that.
Been itching to see a fight live & that might be the one.

Question-
where is the best place to sit for a UFC event?

I'm pretty sure I am going to go to 168 in Vegas.
That card has some great fights.

What do you guys think?

afford that, but you never know.

Yeah,
that should be good. Gotta give Condit credit, he doesn't duck anyone.

Watched last night's episode. Ronda's coach is as classy as she is.

As this season plays on, Ronda is getting right up there with Jon Jones as least likeable ufc champion.

Watched the weigh in today.
It's weird seeing a fighter is as tall or if not taller
than Jones.
I still think Jones will take him out, but a writer brought
up an interesting point. He said Jones has been fighting
nothing but fighters who are past their primes, and blondie
is the first fighter who is up & coming & hungry.
I would love to see Jones lose, but don't see it.
Of course, the guy wears head phones as he walks up onto
the stage while the audience is mostly booing him.

Damn...I can't believe I am actually going to order this thing. I hope I'm not pissed tomorrow.

I agree.
Shogun, Rampage, Rashad etc were all over the hill when he fought them. But there really isn't anyone else in the division. Even Glover Teixeira, basically a "new guy" in the division is old and slow as fuck these days and I don't really think he'll amount to anything.

I do think Jones would win anyway against them. He'd have more problems but he would win.

Dana White must know something we don't because he thinks this is going to be a great fight.
My take is it'll go a couple of rounds. Jones will hurt blondie in some way, pounce on him, and that will be the end.

Every time a decision like that happens, I tell myself I'm never going to watch this bullshit again, but I get drawn back into it somehow.

I disagree with the scorecard more than the decision. I can see them giving the edge to the champion under the unwritten rule that you have to beat the champion to take the belt away, not just survive. That said...it wasn't 49-46. God no.

Yep. Though I personally disagree with the outcome, I don't think it was that far fetched due to the reasons you mentioned...except for THAT scorecard. But he DID use JJ as a punching bag for combinations pretty much at will (and scored takedowns) for the first 3 rounds.

Was so bad until the end of Round 4 (when JJ picked it up with that elbow that landed...even though the past 30 secs prior had Gus handing him his ass convincingly with some great combinations) that Rogan was even starting to make excuses for his man-crush, Jones.

But he didn't just to survive, he took the fight to the champ as much as the champ took it to him.

Read that they had to take Jones to hospital on a stretcher.
Jones looked gassed after the second rd.
Fights like this make you completely forget all the other fights on the card.

I heard JJ went on a stretcher as well. Gus was busy giving interviews.

My breakdown:
Gus Rounds 1-3
Jones took Round 4 at the end.
Last Round was close...no real clear winner, but will give it to JJ.

Anyway, this fight is a win for Gus as far as his future rep in the UFC. Rematch coming up.

Dana mentioned in post fight press that the doctor
wanted to stop fight after the 4th, but Jones had to
plead to let it go to the 5th.

At first I thought the decision was bullshit. I thought for sure the first three rounds went to Gus and teh last two went to Bones. After Rewatching it, I think Bones won the first round, too. Gus got a few good punches in and a takedown, but Bones hit him with a headkick, a spinning back elbow, and a shit ton of oblique kicks and side kicks to the leg. I definitely think whoever scored it 49-46 Bones should be fired (from a cannon), but I think it was 48-47 Jones.

Either way, they should definitely rematch. No doubt about it. Let Glover wait.

That's what I keep coming back to: it was such a good fight and to me there wasn't a clear winner. Shit, the way Gustafsson kept going when he had nothing left in the tank was amazing, and the same with Jones. I saw Jones "walking" after the fight and he was barely moving.

Yeah, there's gotta be a rematch. They'll both probably get one fight against somebody else first and then meet again.

Fight of the Year hands down!
I do not like Jones whatsoever, but yeah he has the heart of a champion & then some. You could see the look on his face a guy that was losing his belt, and did what he had to do to hold onto it.

And I agree about a rematch, but after another fight.
If Gus wins, automatic rematch. But Jones held onto his belt, let him fight Glover, and Gus fights whoever they want to throw at him.

Speaking of that,,, who would you guys put against Gus for his next fight?

Hell of a fight!
