Couldn't you tell by the pic? Jones got collagen injections.

Gustafsson won strikes landed (by a large margin)
Jones won kicks and significant strikes
Tied in takedowns

It was probably 3-2 in rounds to Jones but who knows for sure?

And the only reason Jones won round 4 was the last 40 or so seconds. But then again, that has happened in so many fights.
Gus took some shots from Jones that other fighters would've folded.
How about when (I think 3rd round) Jones tried to take Gus down, and Gus got out of it, and Jones started chasing him around the ring. A bit on the comical side. It also showed how frustrated Jones was.

Great fight, great fight!!
And according to some clueless noodniks on a couple other forums, that was Gustafsson "running away" from Jones "the whole fight".

Really? I didn't see that at all.
If anything Gus was coming up with weird angles & movement that Jones had to deal with.
The day before I watched the Gus/Shogun fight again, and said to myself "really? this guy is going to fight Jones"?
Shocked the shit out of me.

Machida. I bet there would be some hellacious striking/counter striking from some bizarre angles from both.

Some body,,maybe bloody elbow, posted the original unofficial stats for the jones Gus fight and the official stats. The unofficial had Gus outstrking jones by 70 strikes. The official had jones ahead slightly...is that big of a disparity common?

Nate Diaz cancelled his upcoming fight so he can attend his
high school reunion.
Ahh, okay.

I like that they both bring it, but too many side issues
that aren't worth it.
Besides, both fighters have gone as far as they can go.

"Attend high school reunion" = "get high." Yeah, I'm sure a dude like Nate really cares about what people from high school think of him and he really wants to be there.

Yeah, I hate them both too. They have the potential to be very good fighters but then they get in the ring and taunt, and then bitch when they lose.

This. You know Nate is the type of guy who is going back to his high school reunion just so he can have all the people worshipping at his feet, swelling his head even bigger. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if there was some sort of incident at his reunion as well.

So did I.
She was gassed after the 1st round.
It seems whatever fighter lands the big first punch takes the fight.
The other fighter gets hit and says "Ouch, that didn't feel good",
and its downhill from there.

I liked when Hallaman (?) said "okay lets go" and Ronda had to step in
& be all tough.

Other than Greg Jackson & the guy that handles the Diaz brothers, I do not
know much about coaches. Is Ronda's coach well known or did he get lucky
as hell getting a fighter like Ronda in his stable of fighters?

Oh yeah,
I see Ronda's mom shows up next week.
Now that's a hot mess piece of work as well, huh?

From Tate's Twitter feed last week. She was busting on him:

So Edmond Tarvedyan the d-bag @RondaRousey "striking" coach that tried to act tough tonight on the show is legit pic.twitter.com/aFLaWVh0KB

That sucks. But Munoz vs Machida will be good.
There's a lot of great fights for the rest of the year.
It will be interesting to see how many of those great
fights get hit by the injury bug. I hope none.

Interesting thought- If Hendricks beats GSP and Mendes gets another shot and beats Aldo, every champion will be an American with the exception of Interim bw champ Barao, but Cruz is the champ still for now.

Anderson Silva is now saying that he fought Weidman with injured ribs.

I know the Sonnen fight his ribs were hurt because at one point in between
rounds he told his corner that his ribs were bothering him.

But to bring it up now. Hmmm, don't know about that.

I can only imagine how many fighters go into a fight with some kind of nick or
injury. My guess is plenty.

Maybe the guy has a chronic rib injury.

well not for nothing, there were reports of his rib being injured before the fight, and he never brought it up until he got asked if he was injured going into the fight.

But they didn't hurt enough to prevent him acting like an over-confident dick and getting knocked the fuck out.

And what about the fights he won? Were his ribs a problem then?

I love Silva but its a bit childish to blame it on an injury. He got made a fool big time!
