Killeverything......Ever had a doubt?
Even with my favorite LA destroying teams in the summer I figured sometime in July that Boston was going to be the highly favored team. The same feeling I had in 04 when they broke the curse. Into September it became no doubt, into the playoffs I would have bet the farm.
Maybe I'll waste time and see how far back I personally mentioned it here....But really, is anyone surprised? They cheated with that glove stuff!
Congratulations to the Boston RedSoxs.
Sorry St. Louis Pigeons.

Even if that's true, at least he knows what the "PE" stands for and puts it to proper use unlike A-Roid.

I'm from St. Louis. I love my Cardinals. But congrats Red Sox all the motherfucking way. They earned it and we handed it to them on a silver platter. Sure it went 6 games, but still.
Cards need to break the cycle of kicking serious ass in the regular season and derping the fuck out post season. It's seriously disappointing.
And for my money, Freese, Jon Jay, and Kozma can hit the bricks.

Trade ya for Josh Beckett, Chad Billingsley and toss in a guy who bat's like a girl, Dee Gordon.
Props to the Card's, as a runner up it's like...We had a good run but...Rooted all year to lose the last series? FUCK!

John Farrell righted the ship and guided the Red Sox to the promised land. Players had nothing to do with it. Embrace Farrellball; it's the new way.

The BBWAA finally got it right.
Wil Myers named AL Rookie Of The Year.
Jose Fernandez named NL Rookie Of The Year.
I think the NL decision was difficult because Puig had a hell of an intro, Fernandez is also a strong canidate for the NL Cy and set ERA records for his age. So really check and mate.

Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread
Won't argue with the ROY's, Puig could have been closer in points but Jose deserved it. Wil Myers is gonna be a good player for a long time and to be honest I'd probably rather have him then Puig. People who talk about Puig's attitude should follow Myers. I think they're both part of the new age egotistical super stars.killeverything wrote:The BBWAA finally got it right.

The Dodgers had 2 in the top 4 Rookie of the year running's "Puig and Hyun-Jin Ryu". The CY better go to Clayton based on innings alone, to toss that many innings with his ERA is amazing to me. Zack Greinke in the top 5 with Hyun-Jin Ryu in the top 10.

Why Yasiel Puig Was MLB's Most Valuable Rookie of 2013
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1846 ... ie-of-2013
Following his arrival in early June, the 22-year-old outfielder took baseball by storm, batting .436/.467/.713 with 44 hits and seven home runs in his first month with the Dodgers.
According to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com, Puig was the first player since Joe DiMaggio in 1936 to collect 70-plus hits and 10-plus homers in his first 50 career games.

The AL Cy I believe will go to Scherzer. He had a great year, but until King had the back strain it would've/should've been Hernandez. Me personally, I'm not blown away by Scherzer's win/loss record. 20+ wins with 8.45 runs per game support? Pitch decent in front of that lineup, you'll tack on the Ws.
I personally would give to Darvish, but it more than likely will be Scherzer. It's unfortunate about the back strain because prior to King Felix was the best in the AL. Again.

Darvish and Scherzer are almost a toss up, ERA, innings....Darvish more strike outs, Scherzer less BB's with a few less HR's.....It's close if you toss out the W-L
I'd rather see Darvish but would have to flip a coin and give it to. Bartolo Colon.

C'mon, Ortiz put up numbers that are similar to a video game. Very difficult to imagine Ortiz is not getting the help of PED use.
He's been suspected of the use before, but since the guy smiles a lot and is not the highest paid player in the league, he gets a pass from the media and ESPN.

Yeah, "He hit superhumanly in a small sample, so he must be on something. Despite a lack of hard evidence or anything resembling evidence, really. He just has to be!"
There is some truth to the media given certain guys passes due to personality, but come on.

Nobody doubts he probably did them at some point but why did it take so long (9 months) to recover from an achilles injury? Surely the recovery time would have been much faster.
If you're only talking about the WS, that's convenient. Good thing he knows how to time the usage so that they kick in at just the right time, huh?
He only hit .091 the series before. Good thing that series only went six.
By the way, in the 2007 ALDS he hit .714.

Clint Hurdle wins NL Mgr Of The Year.
We saw that one coming with the Pirates winning after a dismal 20 years. I think that will mean Farrell gets the AL nod for the Sox turnaround. I personally think it should go to Girardi for what he had to endure and why Maddon isn't mentioned more is beyond me.

John Farrell bought his team, the series and was able to hide PED's....
Don Mattingly should have won the NL Manager of the Year!

Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread
Best pitcher in baseball Clayton Kershaw won his 2nd Cy in 3 years today.
"As long as I don't give up 15 ERs, I'll get the W" 20 game winner Max Scherzer ran away with the AL Cy.
Ran away with it. I don't think he's better than Darvish, he's not better than the King ( no one but Kershaw is ), he's not better than Iwakuma, he's certainly not better than Verlander. IMO the BBWAA got this one wrong. I think Darvish deserved it.
Next season will prove my point. Especially IF Detroit trades Scherzer to make room for Smiley ( as per rumours ). See Scherzer isn't like a Cliff Lee success story where Lee got more of a break in his curve and learned how to locate his 4 seam better ( analysis coutesy of Hardball Times ).
Regression to the mean.
