Lawler vs Hendricks for belt. That should be a good fight.

Say what you want about GSP, the guy is a class act.

I agree. He has nothing left to prove. He's beaten everybody . The welterweight division has long been one of the most stacked in UFC. He hasn't had an easy or gimme fight, unlike andersonZ

Yeah, I agree. Wouldn't mind if he stayed retired for good. He has nothing left to prove and he doesn't owe Dana a damn thing.

Hate to see GSP leave, especially after the fight he had with Hendricks...he knows he lost that fight...everyone does. But, it is what it is...hes done enough over the years to justify taking off for as long as he likes, at least he is vacating the title...

Last night's fights-
nothing exciting.
Faber deserves a shot. That was impressive. His killer instincts to finish a fight are great to see.
What's up with McDonald? I've never seen a fighter so happy & courteous to another fighter after losing. The guy is too too young.

Up next-
168 & I will be there.
I'm already nervous for that card. Should be great!

McDonald is friends with Uriah and grew up looking up to him. Uriah has helped him out in his career. Uriah is kind of like florian where he is a killer except when in title fights.im giving mendes a pass for last night. He's another killer. He looked completely off after he couldn't finish lentz. Turns out he was sick.

As I posted earlier in the lounge:

Silva was made to look like a clown (due to his own overconfidence) Weidman is a dead man, IMO.
I think it's gonna be Silva/Sonnen ll Pt. ll.

Silva will get taken down a couple of times in the first. Second round, he will KO Weidman
Meisha will give Rousey a good fight but will lose. Tate is tough as hell but she is getting armbarred.

Rest of the card and prelims should be good.

Wow,
you guys are giving no credit to Weidman whatsoever.
I think he is a different beast than Sonnen.
However, I would not bet against Silva.
Should be interesting. I'm already getting a case of the nerves.

Silva got humbled and that should serve as motivation, but how much does he have left in the tank? I have no idea about who will win this one. I want to go with Silva but I think that Weidman may be underrated. Who knows.

I remember people saying the same about Sonnen after his first bout with Silva.
But agreed, should be a great, interesting fight.

I think Silva would have won no problem had he not clowned as much as he did. He started to pick up after Weidman's takedown and was starting to control the fight. Weidman was fading.

Weidman's isn't coming off of an injury and a one year lay off this time, so he will be better prepared and conditioned this time.

And I question Silva's motivation for this fight actually...he was ready to give up the belt/retire, I think he only accepted the rematch because the UFC made him an offer he couldn't refuse.
He'll get ridiculous coin for this fight and retire or go for novelty fights for fun.

Weidman is the champ, but he didn't really prove himself in the first,I think he will be in for the kill this time to remove any doubts.

Sure, but consider the circunstances...why do you think Weidman's is the underdog in the betting lines? Most people, including folks here, are picking Silva in the rematch.

It shows the mystique of Silva doesn't it?

Dissapoint.

I wanted a clear victory, preferably for Anderson, but Weidman would do. This was just unfortunate. He isn't coming back from this though.
Oh well...let's see what Vitor brings.

Barnett was sort of dissapointing...always hate to see the old school guys losing.

Ronda's judo is amazing to watch but what a cunt. Even the Diaz shake hands with their opponents. Chicks...

Great fight between Rousey and Tate. Tate is good, but Rousey is a beast. Those judo throws were awesome and kept her in a dominant position throughout. Tate should have kept it standing instead of engaging for take downs. Rousey is STILL a grade A, classless asshat tho'. Tate came out of this the "real winner", bigger and better than ever with he fans and the UFC, IMO.
What can be said about that Silva fight other than, it's a damn shame and even a bigger shame if his career ends on that note. Other than that...Weidman gets 2 wins with an * by his name due to extenuating circumstances in both fights. Can't wait to see how he holds up against Vitor Belfort. I think Vitor takes that belt.

Don't agree with the 'asterisk" next to Weidman's name for those fights. Silva intentionally clowns as a technique in fights in order to get his opponents to attack him. He got caught while engaging in that technique. It was intentional. Last night, Weidman intentionally checked a kick that injured Silva. Up to that point he was dominating the fight. I feel bad for the dude that in many people's there will be an asterisk. He did what he had to do to win those fights.

I had a feeling Rousey was going to lose, not because Miesha was better, just bc she had a lot on her plate recently. .Man did she prove me wrong. She had much improved stand up, showed great awareness on the ground, and was able to throw Miesha around like a rag doll. Very surprised she is fighting again in like a month and a half (which was agreed to before this fight took place!)

A win is a win. Congrats to him. But it's just the way it is for me. Neither fight proved to me he could beat Silva in a fight where Silva A) actually fought and B) didn't have his leg snap like a twig. Now, if Weidman broke his arm/leg in a submission hold, yes. Like that? Leg check or not, no. Just in my mind. I'm sure others feel differently. Noted all fair points tho' from you.
I think Belfort hands him his ass though.

I have to agree, especially considering that Silva always starts out losing the first round(s) against wrestlers (his biggest weakness) like Sonnen and Hendo being good examples and always came out on top.

I don't know if this would be the case, his speed and reflexes are not the same as even a couple years ago, but now we will never know.

Regarding Belfort, he either wins in the first or loses steam and will lose in the subsequent rounds. Whatever happens I wanna see Machida face Belfort and Weidman.

Pretty much this. I don't like Silva at all but I won't take anything away from him as far as his abilities. I wanted him to lose but hated to see it happen like that. Fuck. Bad way to end a career. I genuinely feel bad for him.

I think my GF watched her last UFC for a while after seeing that. She had a hard time handling that one.
