Re: The NFL Thread
Neversurrender may have said one right thing this season. I don't think the Packers take the division. I know the odds have to be huge on Green Bay and it's not something I would bet a paycheck on.
Trading Peterson would be a huge mistake. I don't see any back up QB's available worth being a franchise. So their best option is draft one. Having Peterson on the team takes a lot of the pressure off a rookie QB. Barring a complete meltdown he will still have high trade potential for the 2015 season.
I'm not saying Stafford is elite, but he is still young and has started every game for the last three years. He has had one coaching staff for his entire career, so we don't know if he has hit his full potential.
None of that can be said for Romo. Once upon a time he was good. He might have even been able to win a Superbowl in a different reality. Now if Cutler, Alex Smith, even Carson Fuckin Palmer and him were all free agents, Romo would still get picked last. He is definitely not worth eating up all your cap space to keep. That's like trading two years of first round draft picks for a QB then running him into the ground.

I could honestly see that happening. I don't know if Cutler would be picked before Romo. He isn't a good enough QB to deal with his ego and diva bullshit. You aren't winning a Super Bowl with Cutler or Romo, might as well not take the baggage.

True, but you would rather pick the guy who promised to study more if they gave him a raise in his allowance? Did that trick even work when we were kids.AliceManson wrote:sin wrote: Now if Cutler, Alex Smith, even Carson Fuckin Palmer and him were all free agents, Romo would still get picked last.

Tony Romo undergoes back surgery, out for rest of season!
So much for Tony Romo playing in Week 17.
The Cowboys said Friday that Romo has undergone back surgery and has been placed on the IR list, ending his season with a week to go and with the team set to play the Eagles for the NFC East title on Sunday and a spot in the postseason.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
You'd take Romo over Stafford doing what? Playing Nintendo from a hospital bed? And you call me ignorant?

I don't give a fuck what any story say's from here on out, I've seen the back fusion procedure several times, been offered to have it done myself and know more people then I can count who've had one.....then two...then three. Bet you could post in the lounge and someone can tell you a horror story about theirs. Most of them turn out being the wrong move unless there wasn't a choice. And even after, you are not the same.
Romo will never be the same. The Odd's are up there, at best he'll comeback and be normal one day and fucked the next and Tony's already a shaky QB to begin with.
I'd have to say ya, I'd take a healthy 8 years younger Stafford over a forever damaged QB who's choked when it counts his entire career.
Good luck with your damaged QB Machado, ya blind ignorant fanatical bedwetting thumb sucking bitch boy.

The Vikings should trade Adrian Peterson to the Cowboy's for Herschel Walker........And a dozen draft picks.
Better yet, trade AP to the faggots of Dallas for Broken Romo....Bromo!

In other words.. You have no backbone to stand by a team....
But.. I completely agree with ya on the Romo part.. This game should be meaningless but, that ain't how the Cowboys and Skeletor roll.
I do believe Dallas gets the piss knocked out of them.. Philly is just the better team IMO.

I'll run with this virgins post. You a fair weather bandwagon uneducated child.
Oakland Alameda Stadium is my Mecca. I've made several trips to Oakland too watch the Raiders. I flew to Oakland over Christmas once just to watch the Jaguars and Fred Taylor end the Raiders season at 4 and 12.
I've been to Denver, Seattle, Cleveland, San Diego, San Francisco stadiums.....How many times have you been to Texas Stadium? How far have you traveled to watch Dallas play? Unless you live in Texas the point is moot, your daddy took ya.
I've always hated the Cowboy's but liked/respected players you probably never heard of let alone watched.
Robert Newhouse, Preston Pearson, Drew Pearson, Randy White, DD Lewis, Charlie Waters, Harvey Martin....While still hating the team, Tony Dorsett, Tom Landry and his fucking hat. I was ecstatic over Jackie Smith's drop. I cheered when Staubach got DRILLED in the back.
I loved when Dallas lost title games in the same way I love every game the Bronco's lose. At the same time in Denver I still dug the Three Amigos, Craig Morton in orange, Elway, Sammy Winder and Karl Mecklenburg. Dennis Smith and Steve Atwater were two of the baddest mother fuckers on the planet. None of these players you've heard about. I got to watch Air Coryell light up defensive's, while you got Fairy average Aikman and Emmitt Bitch in the scoring era.
I jumped up and down watching Darrell Green run down Tony Dorsett while you get to say "YA! That was pass interference on DEZ! WOOHOOO!"
Something else you'll never get.
As a player it helped me respect players on NFL teams I hated. I pissed on the Niners yet wore Ronnie Lott's #42 and #53 Rod Martin's most of my career.
I liked, the Steelers Jack Ham to Jack Lambert....Atlanta's Steve Bartkowski and Williams Andrews. Including my Raiders from Casper to Biletnikoff, Jack Tatum, Stabler my all time QB...Stickum with Lester Hayes and Mike Haynes. Met and lived by Todd Christensen. Got pictures met several different years of Raiderettes and the 90' Seahawks cheerleaders.
The Cowboy's was a bandwagon team for retards in my youth. There was a couple Steeler fans and a lot of Bronco idiots due to it's local coverage. The best thing about being a Raider fan growing up is I watched them win 3 super bowls and have the highest winning percentage in all of sport from the time I was a child up till I was an adult. The best years being a fan is when you're a kid and the Raiders were competitive to dominate year after year. It was also the best years for Football in general, The NFL is pussified now, a joke compared to the 70s/80s.
Most adults grow out of this adolescent stage unlike you, manchowder or NeverSurrender13. Most don't have the emotions of a child who hasn't reached sports puberty. It's one thing to be disappointed or a little angry but you blind idiots cry, whine and make excuses like toddlers.

Two weeks ago from The official site of the Dallas Cowboys!

---Romo should be benched these last two games?----
Romo just needs a closer for the last 2 minutes. He's pretty solid for 58 minutes.LOL
It may not be about Romo, but the defense. I have no clue how we're going to stop either team. But. With Romo it may not even matter. He'll do something dumb as usual.
If Romo plays, we end his career as an Eagles Fan
So you guys actually think we're going to the playoffs? Romo is returning to the place where he threw 3 INTs and crapped his pants with the playoffs on the line last year. You really think he's going to play well this year? Not only play well but win? LMAO. Romo? Winning not one, but two to get in? LMAO. LMAO. Pure comedy.
Its too late now but he needed a good strong willed coach to square him away a long time ago he has had free reign and theres no going back now . He is what he is and we are stuck with him till the end of his miserable career here.
Well tony cannot follow orders and needs to be benched and replaced if we ever plan to win games again. He is an incompetent idiot but wait he is jerrys boy who cares ! We would have won if he would have tucked his EGO away.
Some of the great ones were benched. Or at least had some very good competition right behind them. For Romo to have free reign over the most visible position in sports with no way to discipline him is one of our biggest mistakes.
Thing is, we're fighting for our playoff lives. Romo is the best we have, mistakes or not.
Being that its basically unanmous on these boards that we're doing nothing in the playoffs even IF we get in (I have my doubts) why not bench him, draft his replacement, so that he's much better prepared next year?
competition is a good thing but Ive mentioned several years now that Romo should have to earn his starting spot every year and people tell me that's just nuts. One poster said it would hurt his feelings and would have no confidence......Cmon....everyone should be stimulated to perform better
They will no more bench Romo then Al Davis Jr will fire garrettkeet now.
It's clear that garrettkeet should have been fired but you waiting on seeing Romo getting benched you're waiting a long while. Al Davis Jr will never allow that.
Pretty simple what hes sayin.....you bench the guy to let him know your sick and tired of his game losing chokes.....as a way of holding him accountable and showing him that even HE can be replaced if hes not pulling his own weight.
Sure I want us to win. Wanted us to win against Denver, KC and GB but we all know what happened to Romo in those games.
I hope they do this next year.....because at least Orton can manage a game OK without all the chokes.
It is a talent issue and it starts with the QB. Why on earth would anyone continue to build around a flawed Romo. Why get good, really good, good enough to go to the SB so that he can rip your heart out? That's the theory you're suggesting. Its called INSANE.
Problem with Romo is he thinks hes untouchable because Jason doesn't hold him accountable and Jones has the hots for him apparently......Jerry will never admit to making the same mistake he made with Roy Williams......except at a higher level.
Look at the QBs coming out of the woodwork in todays NFL....seems a good QB isn't that hard to find after all.....guys Like Newton, Foles, Luck, Wilson, Mccown, and a few others are proving you can play the position of QB at a high level with little to no experience.
You think that the least clutch QB ever to lace them up in the NFL is all of a sudden going to change? WHY? Year after year its the same thing with him. Good team or bad he comes up small. I guess Jerry loves idiots like you. NO WINNING NECESSARY. Romo is EXCITING.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bleacher Report last year?
Tony Romo threw three of his four interceptions in the first 16:55 that helped spot the Giants a 23-0 lead. At one point, his passer rating was a paltry 11.1.
Romo's three interceptions on the team's first four drives and four total picks bring his season total to 13. Romo has been inconsistent all year, his play ranging anywhere from pathetic to superb.
Still, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said he never considered benching Romo in favor of backup Kyle Orto
So, is it time to move on from Romo?
It's a question that has been asked many times over the course of Tony's seven year career, but with a quality backup in Kyle Orton the answer of "no" does not seem so readily correct anymore.
Orton has thrown for 3,000 yards twice in his career and looked to be developing nicely as the Denver Broncos starter in 2009-10.
However, if bad decisions and turnovers are the greatest knock on Romo, isn't turning to Orton only going to be a lateral move for the Cowboys?
Yes, Romo often makes head-scratching throws that make you wonder if he is actually aiming for the other colored jerseys. But he is still the best QB for the Cowboys right now. The problem is Romo is still the best guy in the Cowboys depth chart.

Chiefs vs Chargers : Chiefs pulled all their starters, so much for the Steelers making the playoffs. I'd rather seen San Diego but even the Bolts could fuck up a second team game this year.
