WTF!!!!
The voter should have his credentials burned and he should be banned from MLB for life

Greg Maddux won't be a unanimous selection for the Hall of Fame.
Ken Gurnick of MLB.com, a former reporter for the Los Angeles Herald Examiner, says the only player he voted for was pitcher Jack Morris. Morris is on the Baseball Writers' Association of America ballot for the 15th and final time after falling 42 votes shy last year.

Greg Maddux, a 355-game winner who claimed four Cy Young Awards during his brilliant career, won't be a unanimous selection to the Hall of Fame.
Gurnick said Tuesday that he excluded "everybody from the Steroid Era."

"I just don't know who did and who didn't," Gurnick said, adding: "Some people quibble over when the era starts, but the bulk of his career was in my opinion well before all of the widespread use of performance-enhancing drugs."
*shakes head*

Jack Morris, semi decent mlb pitcher that pitched a ( meaning ONE ) really good game in his career. I've been looking forward to Ken Griffey Jr.'s HOF induction for some time now. I've been planning to make the trek to Cooperstown for it, meaning it's already set.

If Morris' semi decent ass gets in I will officially boycott the Hall ( not that it matters ). Seriously though there is discussion of a movement/boycott against the Hall if he gets in. People are pissed about the lack of integrity.

Actually if Morris gets in then I should get in. Think about it. I started this thread on Sludge which has run for a while now and been posted on by at least 5 different people. That accomplishment is on par with his eligibility and since induction is as meaningless as a plaque in Monument Park. I should get in.

*edit*

No player has been inducted with 100% before. Think about that. Take your time. Not Ruth, Cobb, Young, Mays, Henderson, Aaron, Williams, etc.

Seriously.
Morris is a putz and needs to stay out of the HOF.

Let's talk about 1 player that is certainly deserving.
Mike Piazza. Or has he been connected to the PED scandal from his era?

Piazza was described as the best hitting Catcher of all time.
We know his defense was among the worst, but what else is new.
Piazza deserves to get in.

The snub on Piazza is the same that Biggio is experiencing. "We highly suspect you partook in the Selig-era, although we don't have proof." I think it's bullshit personally.

My stance on PEDs and the Hall differs almost hourly. I feel if these players ( meaning the one's we KNOW were juiced Clemens, Bonds ) would just fucking admit it, then I support their induction.

Pettite came clean. My reaction was "cool, forgiven." The problem with Bagwell, Biggio and Piazza is their suspected just because of their era. There is no ( surprisingly 100% accurate ) Canseco book detailing transactions, medical laboratory records, a personal trainer who supplied your fucking wife and best friend ( who admitted it ) HGH...but not you, nor were they the beneficiaries of late career resurgences.

I personally hope all 3 get in. Sosa? No, all you did was hit homeruns. Same with Mcgwire. OTOH we have Edgrrrrr who was one of the best hitters of his era and apparently he did it clean.

Of course if Morris gets elected the Bob Uecker should be elected. I mean Bob was in Major League.

That's a good movie.

BOOM

Maddux, Glavine and Thomas elected to Hall!

Biggio at 74.8% meaning the 10 person ballot kept him out.

fuck you Jack Morris.

They all deserve to be inducted ahead of Biggio.

I don't think Biggio was a first ballot guy, but he does deserve induction eventually. Remember Dimaggio didn't get in till his 4th time.

As for upcoming players who could still possibly get 100% I think this:

Jeter, no. First ballot? Yes. Jeter never winning an MVP ( although in '99 he should've done better ) and never leading the league keeps him from 100%.

Rivera, no and that's not because he's not deserving. He was a reliever and I feel that will keep him from 100.

Johnson, maybe. He is second on the GOAT list. I think there should be a "Maddux level" backlash if he isn't 100%.

Pedro, no but he should. Pedro is the most dominate pitcher of all time with a lower mound than Koufax and Gibson during the Selig-era. Unfortunatley for being so charismatic he didn't stand for reporters and barely talked to them so they have a vendetta.

Jones, nope but he's first ballot material.

Griffey Jr., YES. I can't think of one reason why he doesn't deserve 100%. Like Big Hurt he was vocal against PEDs and advocated testing. Injuries IMO are the only reason he didn't break Aaron's record...clean. 10 Gold Gloves, an MVP and the best player EVER behind Willie Mays.

Cobb, Ruth and Mays not getting 100% is a travesty. That could and should end with Griffey Jr. I will be at Cooperstown for that one too.

I think he along with Edgar have a chance to eventually get inducted. The problem is the 10 person limit. With some of the newly eligible players coming up it's easy to understand how some have been overlooked. Of course there's posthumously electing guys like Ron fucking Santos who should be with Morris, but I think he can still get inducted.

Nah it's not Montreal that's effecting his canidacy, he was on the MFY 96-98 so he's been in the spotlight. He deserves induction for his style of play on the basepaths and it's contributions, unfortunately he falls below the 3,000/400 mark so it's going to take a saber campaign ( not unlike Jim Rice's ) to build him some momentum.

He was a role player on Yankees. Has between 250-350 at bats per season.
No longer in his prime.
His legacy is playing in Montreal. 7 time AS for the Expos.
Never an all-star post-leaving Canada

Horowitz's ruling on Arod is final and should be released soon. Arod's legal team has vowed to take it higher which will allow Rodriguez to report to spring training and play the season. More importantly it won't allow those cocksuckers to get out of that contract.

Tanaka is in the US meeting with teams right now. The Dodgers are now officially involved too. There is also a rumor that Seattle is going to have Tanaka raise the 12th man flag for their game against New Orleans. AZ is going all out, LAD probably will, lord knows NY has to, Epstein wants him ( he wanted Dice K too  ) as does the M's. Don't listen to Rosenthal ( NYY beat writer ) I still think he winds up in Seattle.

The rumor going right now is Tony La Russa is on the short list to become team president in Seattle if they go outside of the organization.

That would he amazing and probably spearhead a complete and total organizational turnaround. Seattle's main problem since their inception 36 years ago is the ineptitude of Howard Lincoln and Chuck Armstrong ( CEO and team president ).

Why this potential move has the ability to be incredible is Zruedrnick ( I can't fucking spell his name ) has built a very good farm system, but unfortunately some of the players haven't worked out yet. La Russa coming from St. Louis an organization that grows a championship caliber team every season gave him a lot of experience. This signing would be major for the M's. Wow.

Yeah, I read that. Arod's out of pocket lawyer fees are insane so they started discussions yesterday. He shouldn't accept anything more than 50 games. The standard the MLBPA agreed on.

It's nice to see the west coast Yankees are still building teams with the Brian Cashman Method.

50 game should have been the punishment all along.
Arod knew that. MLB knew that but MLB wanted to throw their weight around and hopefully those actions come back to bite them in the media.

Will be interesting to see if ARod ever does admit to any wrongdoing in this case.
What are the odds ARod will make a statement and actually admit what he did and why he deserves the 50 game ban???

I'm thinking pretty slim. There is no doubt what Arod did is fucked. He tried to buy/destroy evidence of his juicing asnd did all he could to hinder the investigation. The reason why I don't believe he'll fess up like he did in 2007 ( ? ) is his attorney fees are likely to break 8 figures, and cost more than it would to accept a shorter ban.

He admitting or asking for forgiveness would likely erradicate any future lawsuits against Selig/MLB for discrimination or whatever his legal team feels he's a victim of.

When Selig steps down at the end of this year it's heavily rumoured Dave Dombrowski will be the next commisioner. Can you imagine? That guy is awesome and we wouldn't likely have shit like this going on.

Arod's suspension ruling official. 162 games.

Arod takes the fight to Federal Court and will miss 2014 playoffs if NY qualifies ( they won't ). Horowitz heard all testimony and still found Rodriguez guilty. Under the bargaining agreement he no longer has support from the MLBPA. Still plans to report to ST and NY ( I believe ) is still on the hook for that contract until Federal ruling ( ha ha ).

MLB beat the chemists. 13 suspension, no positive tests. Look we all know Arod was guilty. Like Clemens, like Bonds and now we are pretty much guaranteed they won't be inducted into the HOF.

Where do I begin.
Tony Bosch is sleazy and can't be trusted. The fact that MLB has put their trust in him proves the entire case was a witchunt. The directive to "get" ARod was all they cared about.

Cheating in baseball did not begin only 20 years ago. Cheating in baseball has been a tradition that goes back to when the game was invented.
Players like Frank Thomas have not stopped talking about how he played the game clean and that any "suspected" users should not be allowed in the HOF.

I guess they forget to mention or have no educated themselves that the current HOF inductees did cheat. Why was it good enough for them?
Oh yeah, because Thomas did not play in that same era.

No failed tests. Does that say more about MLB drug testing policy or
the drugs the accused players are taking?

The entire system is flawed.
From Bud Selig all the way down to the players who sell the tickets and the swag at the merch booths.

If only the media would expose MLB for the fraud they were and currently are. The number of skeletons in the closet would make for a great story.

Kinda funny how they have text messages from Arod *confirmed. Emails from Arod *confirmed.

Arod has failed a test. He failed in 2009, but he's didn't do it this time? Get the fuck outta here. If he was soooo innocent then why would he be willing to accept a shorter suspension? Think about that.

MLB: You did nothing wrong, but we're gonna punish you anyway. Is that cool?
Arod: A light punishment because I'm actually innocent? That'll be fine.

Goddamn you're dumb.

Listen, nobody has won in this situation.
MLB is wrong. The 14 players implicated in BioGenesis are wrong.

Evidence that was acquired via an investigation is the reason why these players have been suspended.
MLB wants to fool the public into thinking THE PED ERA has ended. The PED problem has been solved. That MLB has a system that will catch every single offender all of the time.
WRONG!

Fuck off.
Bud Selig pussed out by not testifying against the accused(ARod).

So why does Bud get a pass? Because he didn't take a PED.
He did not but he certainly was aware that PED's were in use in the 90's and he turned a blind eye. For the $$$$$

20 years later, a few years before he retires, Bud is on a mission to clean up the game.
Yet those 10+ players in the BioGenesis case all DID NOT fail a drug test.
How is that cleaning up of the game working out for Bud?

Bonds and Clemens beat the Feds.

Emphasis turns to ARod & MLB went to any lengths to make sure they took him down and hard.

Arod wouldn't testify either. You know why? Because he would perjure himself. Do you know how that works? He would be under oath and have to lie.

When an independent source looks at the evidence against and decides your guilty you are. Arod is so innocent the MLBPA no longer represents him. A fucking union cut ties with him. Damn.

What's awesome is Arod vowing to continue the fight means that all the evidence will be made public.

*Breaking news* Arod will sue MLB and the Players Union to overturn his 162 game suspension.

Shit just got real and it's gonna get good. I can't wait for his shitty organization to be drug through the mud too.

So because people were taking speed and coke in the 60s and 70s it excuses PEDs in the 90s and beyond? Fuck that, total weak sauce excuse. Completely expected from Machado though.

No we're getting somewhere(hopefully). Long overdue for the evidence to be made public. Enough talk about not being able to release the evidence, hiding behind this ruling and that agreement, etc....
Didn't think the shit could get any better but maybe with ARod decision to sue today, we are one step closer to getting the information.

They have to. Court records except in the case of National Security are public. Unless that changed when GW overturned the Freedom Of Information Act.

Selig, Cashman, Levine, Arod, Manny, Bosch, Georgie Peorgie's retarded trustafarians and the other players involved are about to be slaughtered in the public's eyes. I think someone's career is about to be over.
