For all the bitching Goodell receives for his rules proposals another idea of his that I just can't understand is he seems to be stubbornly pushing his desire to award London with a team.

Re: The NFL Thread
Fucking seriously, I can't think of any team that would even want to cross the pond to play a game let alone a fucking divisional game twice a year. The traveling part of football sucks for teams but..........ENGLAND? They have always bitched about the East to West coast swings, now lets add London into the mix. You could do it, schedule that shit around bye weeks and upper east games but it's still a foolish idea.eddie lee roth wrote:For all the bitching Goodell receives for his rules proposals another idea of his that I just can't understand is he seems to be stubbornly pushing his desire to award London with a team.
Personally I'm not even a big fan of the international played games but whatever, play one and out but fuck putting a team over there.

Shame his brain chip is only compatible with Windows 95, shit always crashed at the worst time. The Blue screen of death...Wait he's in Denver...The Orange screen of death.
During the Super Bowl I think he was running Windows 3.1
Maybe he should try a MAC. That would make for a good commercial.

Hey why not, this will probably be Manning's last year. Might as well try while they still have the chance. Anyone think they stand a chance of making the playoffs once Peyton retires.Crazy Levi wrote:Broncos doing the Dream Team thing and going hog wild on expensive free agents!

That's the best free agent signing for this offseason.AliceManson wrote:Revis signs with the Patriots, Rex Ryan will be a fucking riot over this.

Re: The NFL Thread
Well, he was in his own category pre-injury. There is this myth that he had a big drop-off in 2013, which is wrong. There are several analyses looking at his snaps and performance in Tampa Bay and he was in the top 2 in virtually every category.Tenacious_Dio wrote:Revis ain't what he used to be.AliceManson wrote:Revis signs with the Patriots, Rex Ryan will be a fucking riot over this.
The real issue in Tampa was that, for reasons that completely elude me, Schiano decided to put Revis in a fair amount of zone coverage, particularly as the year went on -- which is like using a Ferrari only to commute in bumper-to-bumper traffic. The defensive scheme made no sense and Revis was less effective.
Belichick will not make the bonehead move. He will use Revis as he did Talib, and put him on man-to-man on the best receiver/ TE. Talib mostly did great with that last year, and it completely transformed the Patriots' pass defense because it allowed their safety coverage to role over and help the other corners.
Revis will be better than Talib. Revis is still a top-2 corner -- really only Sherman is in his league, and Sherman sticks to one side, not the best receiver all the time.
Great move by Belichick. I admire the Broncos' aggression given Peyton's window, but they are overpaying. Patriots will be in better cap situation and will continue to have a longer, deeper run than the Broncos.

Yeah, the instincts to get Talib and Ware and Ward are solid and good moves. But the money paid to Talib and Ware is getting Snyder-esque.
Barring insane injuries, Denver is probably the AFC team to beat still, but there is going to be a coming-to-jesus moment on the cap issues, unless the cap radically expands in the next 3-4 years.
Re: The NFL Thread
Yup, he's been misplayed and out of position. Belichick will put him back to bump n run and if he's healthy it will turn out to be a great move. Now if the pat's can fill the rosters with WR's. They could dump the core and start over but whatever they do they need to fill that position.eddie lee roth wrote:That's the best free agent signing for this offseason.AliceManson wrote:Revis signs with the Patriots, Rex Ryan will be a fucking riot over this.

well, with Wilfork having a hissy fit and asking for his release because he is being asked to reduce his $7.5M salary this year but Revis is getting $12M, the defensive line becomes a concern as well.UtahRatt wrote:Yup, he's been misplayed and out of position. But I agree that the cast of scrubs that Brady has is a real problem, especially when you compare to what Peyton has to throw to. Now, IF Gronk and Amendola can stay healthy, which is HIGHLY improbable, they may get by with a balanced attack .... but you would think they would get at least one veteran weapon, be it Emmanuel Sanders, Steve Smith, James Jones or whomever else is left out there.

They did fine without Wilfork last year. His leadership will be missed though. He is one of the very few good guys in the NFL. Emmanuel Sanders is a bitch and will drop Tom Brady passes left and right.veritas wrote: well, with Wilfork having a hissy fit and asking for his release because he is being asked to reduce his $7.5M salary this year but Revis is getting $12M, the defensive line becomes a concern as well.

LOL at Cowboy fan moron trying to paint a pretty picture of the Cowboys' offseason of cap hell so far, and dumping on the Skins' offseason which by all accounts is going fabulously.Bludegeon wrote:What a shocker...

The Hatcher pickup was GREAT for the Skins and as far as I can tell most Cowboys fans are pissed, even more than Ware leaving. Unlike Ware, Hatcher has plenty of tread left on his tires - he's only been a starter since 2011 and thus is a very young 31, and has improved every season. His 11 sacks last season are more than the Skins d-line had COMBINED. This add not only addresses a huge problem for the Skins - lack of pass rush - but will improve the secondary by bringing a push up front that simply wasn't there before.
This move strengthens the Skins considerably, while weakening a division rival. WIN!
I'm thrilled with the Skins' offseason so far - smart pickups without any of the stupid flashy moves they've become infamous for. Prudent, fiscally responsible pickups that won't lead to the kind of cap hell the Cowboys are currently enjoying.
So Bludge...how's the Cowboys' offseason working out for you so far? After all, they've added a bunch of great players, while keeping all of their own. Right?

Re: The NFL Thread
I don't know about "fine." Their run defense really deteriorated. Wilfork is not an easily replaceable player, assuming he can regain strength from the injury.AliceManson wrote:They did fine without Wilfork last year. His leadership will be missed though. Sure, they made it to the AFC Championship, which, of course, is great, but they had some MIRACLE comebacks and won many games they should have lost -- virtually every game was a sweat. The absence of Wilfork was definitely noticeable.
I don't know enough about Sanders to know whether he would be a good fit or not.

Cause, I don't recall mentioning or trying to paint a pretty picture of the Cowboys offseason..
The Dallas Cowboys offseason is about normal. It sucks, It will continue to suck..
At least the Cowboys aren't signing an ex -skin player every offseason like the Skins do with the Cowboys.. Stop being butthurt moron.. It's just the way it goes..
Instead, the "brainiacs" in Dallas are interested in going after Peppers.. An even OLDER player than Ware or Hatch..
I am bummed that Hatch is gone.. It could be a good pick up, or it could be another Bowen pickup for the skins.. I hope it doesn't do shit for them to tell ya the truth..
It's just the same shit every year from the skins and going after Cowboys ex players..
Don't worry, the giants do it too.
Actually.. Cowboys have release two players I wanted released, so, that part is going good with me. Not most of the Cowboystards though.

Re: The NFL Thread
I wonder if us bitching at each other over the Skins/Cowboys will be enough to roust TrutherSurrender from his slumber?
And I have no idea what you are talking about with the this "ex Cowboys/Skins" thing.
So this makes uh...two ex Cowboys who are Redskins now in the past 5 years?
WOW that's a fucking trend. Something I'm sure about 2/3rds of the teams in the league can't also say.
Retard.

Re: The NFL Thread
It's a trend with the Cowboys/skins..
And, one team doin it..
Maybe not in the past 5 years back to back, but, they are being consistent with having ex Cowboys players on their roster..
Galloway, Bowens,now Hatcher..
Don't worry, Levi.. This new season will begin and you will be up and pumped, thinking your team is the shit..
Then..??
Week 3 or 4 will come and you will go back to being bummed and spouting off "Oh, I didn't think they were gonna do anything anyways"..
Typical, just like Raider fans, in the offseason, they are winning the Super Bowl, then, the actual season starts.

So I guess no ex-Redskin has ever played for the Cowboys?
Galloway - a guy signed off the waiver wire 3 teams and 7 years after he was a huge free agent flop for the Cowboys.

God forbid the Skins sign Spencer...I'll never hear the end of it from this idiot. That will make THREE former Cowboys the Skins have signed in the past fucking decade.
Oh I'm sorry, 4. We are counting Galloway, right? "Mr. Cowboy" Joey galloway? A guy who played on like 8 teams?
Cowboys fans are fucking retarded. Look no further than Sludge:
Bludgeon. Roadhead.
It's a trend!!! Just like the dozens of ex-Cowboys currently on the Skins roster!

Good move by the pats but a better move by Lovie to dump him in Tampa. By my count, using the one year Revis money he signs a top starting corner and a top starting DT. That's a no brainer for a rebuilding team. Lovie must have a special crowbar to get the Glasers to open their wallets this wide.UtahRatt wrote:Yup, he's been misplayed and out of position. Brandon Browner signed with New England. Looks like Denver aren't the only ones making a one last chance for the Superbowl push this year. We get to see what Carroll is made of this year with all the raiding of his players.

I guess we will see if Seattle can win on the road in the playoffs. San Fran will sweep them in the season, and Sherman's disrespectful rant will be used to fire them up. Like everything Carroll does, he is bound to lose all control of the team and have it implode.sin wrote:Brandon Browner signed with New England.
