Back when filmmakers didn't need many bells and whistles to tell a story. An odd little ditty, but powerful performances. Not my favorite of the 70's classics.
.
I hate that they kill the half-bald, nerdy guy at the end.
That movie actually was fairly controversial when it came out due to the gay references.
Not one of my favorite 70's flicks either... but still, a classic.
De rouille et d'os ("Rust and Bone" 2012) - 7/10. Drama about some bareknuckle fighter deadbeat dad loser and his relationship to a double amputee killer whale trainer. Marion Cotillard is hot in it (for a cripple).
That seems to be a common thought on this flick, so I went in with low expectations when I rented it last night. Loved it about as much as the first one. 7/10 for me.
Caught this tonight. This is what you get when you cross the godfather, the departed, and with Big Boss...some of the craziest action scenes ever filmed...car chases, tons of fights, great acting all around. Has to be one of the best action flicks ever. Most of it is in subtitles but it's easy to follow along.

Movie is about 2 friends who fall in love with each other's sons. The Movie looked amazing, location was just breathtaking only bad thing was the ending The ladies looked good, sex scenes were pretty hot 7.5/10
They say all good boys go to heaven
But bad boys bring heaven to you
Starcrash - starring the beautiful wooden actress Carolyn Munroe and obviously needing a check Joe Spinell and Christopher Plummer. Special effects that were beyond low budget level even by '78 standards. Marjoe Gortner looks stoned throughout and the Hoff pre- Night Rider shows up mid way as the hero. The robot comic relief has an atrocious southern hillbilly accent. Must be seen by Star Wars fans for the rip off factor of light sabers.
Bermuda Tentacles: 4/10
I had high hopes for this Syfy movie, seeing as how it comes from The Asylum (makers of Sharknado) and stars Linda Hamilton, but it doesn't deliver. They get the "so bad" part right but never make it to "it's good."

Goodbye World - 4/10. Apocalypse movie. The end of the world is triggered by a suicide text message that reads Goodbye World. I just like to hope when civilization really does end, those of us who live are smarter than this.

Swamp Shark: 6/10
Another Syfy movie. Better than Bermuda Tentacles, but no Sharknado. I may have liked it more because I've watched a few episodes of "Buying the Bayou" lately and find the idea of living in that area fascinating all of a sudden. In a horrifying, how do they do that, sort of way.

Captain America:The Winter Soldier....4.5 out of 5 rating...Chris Evans, Sam Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Redford
I liked this better than the 1st Cap film. The pacing was faster, the action scenes were pretty spectacular and the FX was kept on a leash somewhat. Overall a great film if you are a comic book movie fan. However, and this is where we comic book nerds tend to go off a bit where these films are concerned...the makers of the film changed Ed Brubakers storyline..and Bucky Barnes history...I didnt dig that at all as "The Winter Soldier" is a kick-ass Captain America story. But, I can forgive them as what they did made the film work.
