And Onside kicks....No one ever liked watching those surprises or having the slight change of a comeback.Crazy Levi wrote:Well as far the kickoff...the rule changes they made are really stupid. Now it's almost always kicked deep into the end zone (unless the Redskins are kicking off) and the players bring it out anyway.
If the point is to eliminate kickoffs, just get rid of them. Don't see the point of trying to force players to take touchbacks, especially when they run it out anyway.
NFL Nerf Football League.

You'll like this one...I applied for the XFL and even lied a little for bonus points. On the second reply I'm guessing they did more of a background check or someone personally knew I'd got killed.Crazy Levi wrote:If only they would bring back the XFL's "Opening Scramble!"

There is no question the helmet to helmet thing being removed is a good thing. For everyone except assholes like Brandon Meriweather. But the kickoff issue is ridiculous. What I'd like to see happen with kickoffs is making the kicker only be able to take a 5 yard run before kicking the ball. If the ball's in the air a shorter amount of time I guarantee injuries go down.UtahRatt wrote:

I say we dress players up in those massive sumo outfits to avoid injuries.
NFL, National Fairy League, Y2K on. Safety Football. Working construction is tougher then today's game. Might as well pull up on a framing site and watch people who labor for a living get beat up. More exciting.

Isn't there a rule in the CFL if the runner don't run out the Kick Off the other team gets a point?

So when is the Manziel HOF Induction Ceremony?
The fucking kid isn't worth shit until he takes the field for a reg season
game and leads his team to a championship.
ESPN and every other sports medial outlet has a hard on for the kid like
they once did for Tebow.
And we all know where Tebow ended up; out of the NFL for good in a short amount of time.
IMO, Manziel is nothing more than a below average NFL QB until he proves differently.
And I'm not talking about putting together 2 good quarters or having 1 or 2 good games.

Browns just signed Rex Grossman and said bye bye to Tyler Thigpen. This also means Connor Show will probably never see regular season action. Grossman has a mentor to Hoyer and Johnny Football I have no problem with.Machado wrote:So when is the Manziel HOF Induction Ceremony?

Why the fuck would anybody want Grossman "mentoring" anybody? I'm pretty sure Johnny Football and Hoyer already know how to throw INTs.
Rex is there cause he's Shanny Jr's crony, that's the only reason. Good for Rex he needs a paycheck too but I don't see why any Browns fans would be happy about it.

If he can help the other two adapt to Shanny Jr's offense, it's fine. Grossman is an upgrade from Thigpen.Crazy Levi wrote:Why the fuck would anybody want Grossman "mentoring" anybody? I'm pretty sure Johnny Football and Hoyer already know how to throw INTs.

Grossman is a career back up, maybe 3rd string at best.
I'd rather have Tebow vs Grossman

They will be happy until week three. It's the Browns, whatever the worst decision is, they will make it. You have no room to talk. Your favorite team was led by a QB last year
that went 3-13
Before you deflect the blame away from RGIII, don't forget he lead the team to a 3-10 record. Must be nice to be that great huh?

RG3 beat Romo for the NFC East title.
Therefore, how could your QB possibly be better than mine?
Owned.
I'll admit, if you want to go 8-8 and miss the playoffs every season Romo is your guy. Consistency counts for something.
And for all 4 regular NFL Thread posters, don't get your fucking panties in a bunch. Machado and I are just getting out some preseason rivalry jitters so lighten the fuck up.

Suck's about Josh Gordon, he could have at least made Grossman a much better "shitty" QB. Letting Greg Little go didn't help either but losing Josh and Little huts.
Now they have a roster of shitty QB's and new core of WR's. Time to run the ball and get the best punter available.
If there's a chance Gordon can come back he'll make some plays for Grossman because the Browns other QB's couldn't hit Josh standing still.

Looks he'll get to play 4-8 games at best. Dumbass. I have no problem with marijuana, but if you know you're being tested for it why the hell would you be hanging with stoners??? And then the DUI. I have no sympathy for the guy. In my line of work, I'd have already been terminated, and I make tens of dollars while he makes tons of dollars.eddie lee roth wrote:Have they already announced if Gordon is going to be suspended for the year or was he just another poor victim of the 2nd hand smoke?

Jerry sure did show everybody that one horrible year was all on Rob Ryan didn't he? They've been gang busters on defense since then.
Meanwhile Jason Garrett is still there to coach another year where people wonder WTF is up with his play calling and time mangement of the clock.
Dallas will do worse than 8-8 this year so don't plan on cashing those playoff tickets that Jones sent out.
They'll know there will be no post-season before the last game of the season this year so at least you'll have that not to worry about.
And Tymaster I was joking about Gordon and the 2nd hand smoke, c'mon man that is straight up some bullshit and you know it.

As much as the Dallas D sucked last year, I can only hope the D improves.
I'm fan with Ware leaving for Denver. He's on the downside of a very solid career.
