Steve Smith planning a vacation with Panthers' money! The Carolina Panthers apparently are paying for Steve Smith's bye week vacation.
Carolina’s all-time leading wide receiver was interviewed Tuesday night by Jim Rome on Showtime. Asked what his response was to the Panthers saying he was a distraction, Smith said, “A $5 million cash check.’’

Smith, didn’t stop there.

“Whether I got pushed out the door or shoved out the door, they owed me $5 million,’’ he said. “So, that’s what I received and I’m here in Baltimore playing well. So I plan on taking one of those vacations from that money this weekend on our bye.”

I don't know what's going on, It's like Cam just don't care anymore. He sits alone, no players talk to him on the sidelines or even help him up anymore. I think there is more to this than we know. His rookie season he was a god damn beast.. It's declined since. This year being the worst, it's like his team does not even like him or something..

I think there's more going on behind the scenes and I blame it all on the staff and organization. It started with calling Smith a distraction when it came to resign time.

Cam is playing like shit because the team is shit...The O-line is patch work and I think Cam misses SMITH more then anything, leadership and ability.

Levi said it, losing does that to a team so where's the coach and staff too rally the troops? I don't see any leadership on the Panther's Offense since they've got rid of SMITH and changed the WR core. Top that off with the fact that Kam has been sacked more then anyone has sucked the life out of him. He can't trust his line and it shows.
After losing SMITH I haven't seen Kam step up but lets face it, the Panthers O-Line is a wreck, they don't have a defense, they're not running the ball and Kam don't have any weapons at WR, with all the new faces and the rookie, who's left, down hill Olsen? They're catching balls because he's throwing 40 a game.

The flip side is the Panthers just went through a brutal schedule and got beat to piss. The rest of the way will show if they have any team left in them. But face it, the team is shit compared to last year. No D!

As far as the future, it they don't get Cam help and run the ball I suspect he'll be an average CamBow.

Adrian Peterson skips his NFL hearing......

NFL, union at odds over Peterson
Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson refused to appear Friday at a scheduled disciplinary hearing with the NFL, a league official told ESPN.
Peterson and the NFL Players Association also refused to meet at any time in the past week.
The NFL also charged that Peterson would not give the league an alternative date for the disciplinary hearing in connection to his child-abuse case in Texas.

The scheduled hearing was a different, more significant one than the conference call set for 2 p.m. ET Monday, when Peterson's grievance relating to remaining on the commissioner's exempt list will be heard. The Friday meeting was the one that would have been for a disciplinary decision on Peterson's past and future.

The way the Panthers dropped SMITH was embarrassing. IMO he was arguably the best player in franchise history then they dump him in the trash and use The "distraction in the locker room" bullshit excuse for the fans. Whatever went down was internal, not locker room and it's pretty clear it came down to Smith and that GM "whats his fuck".

If Smith was a distraction look at what the GM and staff has done with the team since.

The Panthers paid him a shit ton of money, and stood by him even after he physically assaulted teammates (twice). A couple of times, when the Panthers were at the bottom of the standings, he asked to be traded. He gave the GM a list of teams he would go to, and they shopped him, per his request. No one bit. Not only did the Panthers pay him a lot of money to leave, he scored a pretty good contract with the Ravens. So, not only is he getting paid (by 2 teams), but he's probably in the best football situation he's been in for a long time.

There's a reason why he just quit Twitter. He can't shut up about it, and he realizes it.

Bottom line, he should be glad he's out. Every 5 years or so, the Panthers turn into a clusterfuck. This is that year.

Bears fans can finally finding something to cheer about believe it or not.

Watching ESPN's pre game show this morning it was reported that the team can save 12.5 million next year by trading Cutler to a different team.

And here is where the believe it or not part of the story comes, there are a few teams who are interested.

Watching the Chiefs/Seahawks game and the Seahawks were just getting ready to kickoff after tying the game up at 7 all.

They were playing VH's Unchained and because of the wind knocking the football off the tee I could actually hear the song being played all the way up to the "you'll get some leg tonight for sure".

I'd like to see the Chiefs win the game but now it's even increased more since they've scored some style points.

No surprise, really. Mark Sanchez is doing pretty well in Philli...well...maybe not today against GB but still a hell of a lot better than NY.

Carson Palmer couldn't make it happen in Cincinnati. Put up good numbers with the Raiders but that team just sucked. He's had a great career in Arizona as well so it wouldn't be a surprise that someone grabs Cutler.

I'm pretty stoked about Mallett's performance for my Texans today. The stat line looks pretty pedestrian, 20-30 for 211 but he had a bunch of drops, Andre Johnson dropped 3. He was poised, reasonably accurate, got the ball out quick and decisively, and he has a rifle for an arm. Nice to see a QB in Houston that doesn't throw like an old lady. It's been a long time. It's way early to judge, but they may have something with this guy.

Seattle - leads the league in rushing, 31st in passing and they don't pound it into the endzone? Seattle is a total mystery. I don't think it's time to panic, but look at their schedule. It looks like the Seahawks season will come down to their two games with the 49ers because they have a lot of work just to be a wild card unless Arizona can't win one or two more without Palmer. Good thing the Hawks don't have to face Palmer or Foles.

Chiefs D is playing like they did at the first of last season and they're running the ball, they have a good shot at this repeat but their passing game still sucks. From what I've seen I like that WR KC drafted last year.

Then again I felt like last year was KC's year and look how that turned out...

Thanks for bringing that up Anyway, I don't think the lack of WRs for the Chiefs will mean a damn thing. That's not their game. It really never has been. The TE they have, Travis Kelce, is the go-to guy in the passing game, and he's a baller. The passing game is over-rated. Good luck trying to stop Jamaal and Knile. Seattle has a good defense, they were putting 8 in the box yesterday, and they still couldn't stop them.

BTW, the Colts are total playoff death for the Chiefs. I have suffered through many defeats at their hands. 1995, Colts came into Arrowhead led by Jim Harbaugh, and the Chiefs kicker Lin Elliott missed like 3 FGs that lost them the game. 2003, Chiefs were 13-3, 1st round bye, home field throughout. Peyton and the Colts come in, and could not be stopped. No punts in that game. And then what happened last year......
