Levi-Your precious Skins might have a chance this weekend vs SF
Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, chastised by coach Jay Gruden two days ago for his fundamentals and worrying too much about others, took the opposite approach Wednesday.
He said almost nothing.
During a news conference that lasted 7 minutes, 30 seconds -- and 24 questions -- Griffin said he was "focused on San Francisco" nine times and used the word "focused" 18 times overall, whether referring to himself or his team.
"Jay wants me to play better. I want to play better," Griffin said. "We're focused on San Francisco and making that happen. So that's all I've got to say about that."

So they have a chance because Griffin played horribly and got dressed down publicly by his coach and now he's responding to questions with the most cliche answers possible? Damn it Machoado you should be a coach and GM. You have this football business all figured out.

Re: The NFL Thread
Wilson is a very good QB and was a pleasant surprise for Seattle a few years ago when he began. I don't think anybody was expecting him to do what he ended up doing. At only $400,000 or so a year you sure can't beat what we're paying for him right now. The problem is next year he is going to get a monster contract that is basically going to fuck the Seahawks due to salary cap. As strange as it sounds I almost think the Hawks should cut him. They could get a few really good players for what he is going to cost.
You gotta figure the best thing about Wilson is his ability to scramble and turn upfield and get positive yards when it looks like he is going to get sacked. The problem is one of these times he is gonna get drilled hard and hurt. When he runs like that you know guys are just looking to take his head off and eventually it will happen. Also, he isn't going to be as quick as he is now for many more years so before long he won't be able to do what he does now. I've noticed he throws a lot of passes high to where the receiver is having to jump way up to even have a chance to catch it. Pretty soon one of them is going to get hurt because of that. I think that the high passes could be a result of Wilson's height. It seems like he is worried about not clearing some of those linemen so he puts too much on it.
I said it before and I'll say it again...they fucked up getting rid of Percy Harvin.
Not that anybody give a horses shit bag.

The Bills' home game against the Jets will not be played in Buffalo on Sunday afternoon, the NFL announced.
The NFL will conduct a conference call with Bills and Jets officials Thursday afternoon to figure it out.
"Public safety is the first priority," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Thursday. "We have been in discussions regarding potential alternatives. We will provide an update later today."
Possible locations, according to sources, include Detroit, Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C. The Lions and Redskins are on the road this weekend; the Steelers have a bye. It's 215 miles from Buffalo to Pittsburgh, 256 miles from Buffalo to Detroit and 389 miles from Buffalo to FedEx Field in Washington.

I totally agree, I'd trade Wilson for great draft picks and in order to maintain that monster D and keep their solid O line. Wilson isn't a pure passer and he's gonna get tagged.
Percy would be nice but I'd take Golden Tate. Percy is always hurt, not a good WR, great return man sure but he was on the IR all last season and hasn't done shit this year with his new team, on top of all the spat and mouthing off.
Tate is a go to guy and totally took over in Detroit. I bet Wilson would be having a much better season with Tate, now their passing game is at the bottom of the league. It's not due to Percy.

Should be an option as they play in Pittsburgh this Sat. No conflict there.

Re: The NFL Thread
What a great, gritty loss for the Chiefs. Their defense is a force to be ran over. Haven't allowed a rushing TD all year so they decided to allow TWO! One of them a 90yd BLAST that made it look easy! Even the Raiders turning the ball over in their red zone didn't help not to mention giving Alex Smith time left on the clock, he couldn't come back against the winless team. Instead it was the Rookie of an 0-10, wait 1-10 team who did the come back drive for the win! After dominating the entire game.
BIG BIG LOSS putting the Chiefs a loss behind the Broncos and a win from the CHARGERS to catch them! And the Raiders still looking good for a #1 in the draft.
Great Game Raiders.....This ONE is for you.

That Chiefs team looked horrible. Wow..
Looked like all the Chief players wanted to be someplace out from the start of the game..

Re: The NFL Thread
Yeah, that was bad. But I give the Raiders credit. They played well. These games between the Chiefs and Raiders are always ugly, close games no matter what. I had a bad feeling before the game started. The Chiefs played like shit in the 1st half, woke up in the second, but the Raiders just made more plays.
Re: The NFL Thread
Division games can never be explained. Now I can go back to hoping KC on 10 days rest can use this game to go into Denver and beat them to a pulp.Peterbilt wrote:Yeah, that was bad. My wrong...Fish at Denver, KC at home. Even better and either way, I'm pulling for KC to take the division.
Cleveland - Josh Gordon makes his return this week. Josh is a beast and with Cleveland in the thick of the AFC North it could make things even more interesting. It will impact the Brown's that's for sure, I don't care how long he's been out with his talent he's gonna light it up.

So who's brilliant idea was it for Buffalo's home game to be played at Ford Field. Do they realize that the Bills are not exactly any Lions fans favorite team right now because of Jim Schwartz. Probably the most cheering the Jets will hear all year.

A hell of a lot better solution than when Hurricane Katrina hit, and the league moved the Saints Giants game to the Meadowlands, giving the Giants an extra home game that year. What the fuck was that all about.
Re: The NFL Thread
My two cents on Russell Wilson. His height is listed as 5'11 but I've heard that is a pro wrasslin style exaggeration. I think he would be as good as any pocket passer if he were taller. I don't think they realized what they had in Tate and thought the "Next man up mentality" would work just as well as it had for the other groupings.

Re: The NFL Thread
I didn't know that. I wasn't a hardcore nfl.com reading, fantasy football playing, paying attention to every team fan back then. I simply watched Seattle and kept track of the division and the major news.Crazy Levi wrote:It's a tough situation.sin wrote:So who's brilliant idea was it for Buffalo's home game to be played at Ford Field. Close to both teams, Lions are on the road so they can get in there early & Ford dumps a lot of money into advertising. Makes sense.

Look at these fools. Another fine example of NFL players who think the game revolves around them and could care less about the team.

I simply could not believe that sack celebration near the end of the game. What the fuck was that? So typical Raiders: undisciplined, selfish, and, most importantly, incredibly STUPID. How in the world can you do that with time running out?

Add to that being vain and winning for the 1st time in about 16 games.
I hope the team fines those morons for their dance. And to add insult to injury, when the coaches show film to the players, the 2 offenders should be forced to re-enact the dance 1 more time for everybody in the room.

If you ever played or wasn't a complete idiot you know the game didn't revolve around them. They was so pumped full of adrenalin they thought they finally won one. Clearly pointing out the closest you've been to this situation is on the couch with a bottle of lotion.
