I'm surprised he came back this year.DaveB wrote:I give Kiffin one more year at Bama.

A friend of mine who's a grad and huge fan of OSU is telling me that he expects Braxton Miller to move to half back while the other two fight it out for the QB position. I don't know if this is what he *expects* to happen or what he *knows* will happen.

Yeah, that's the new rumor. The earlier rumors were based on which school he was transferring to, so who knows.DaveB wrote:A friend of mine who's a grad and huge fan of OSU is telling me that he expects Braxton Miller to move to half back while the other two fight it out for the QB position. Once Spring ball starts, Jones will have the advantage because he has the most recent game reps. He will also be getting all of the time because Miller and Barrett won't be healed enough to do anything.
My $.02 is this - it's Jones' job to lose unless he does something stupid. Which is not out of the question for a college athlete.

Very interesting situation there at OSU. Meyer is going to earn his salary between now and the new season. So many factors in place.Frett_Bored wrote:Yeah, that's the new rumor. Maybe one of the players gets handed a redshirt. That will solve 1 problem.
Maybe one of the players decides to transfer. Problem solved.
One of the players could get injured or the team can fake an injury so that one of the 3 is granted
a medical redshirt.
???

Exactly. I'm a big UK fan and just this weekend, our freshman five-star quarterback...Drew Barker, who did redshirt this season...was involved in a fight at a bar. He and three other UK players beat up an Eastern Kentucky player. Apparently the EKU guy started talking shit but still. Three of the four guys, including Barker were involved in some kind of shit on campus back in the summer involving air-soft guns.Frett_Bored wrote: it's Jones' job to lose unless he does something stupid. He was expected to be the "franchise" kid but a sophomore, Patrick Towels pretty much lit it up last season. It's his job to lose and if Barker doesn't get his shit together, he's going to be looking for another school. Hopefully he sewed the wild oats last season and really gets serious now.
