This is obviously false as the team name is not "Patriots" and everybody knows they are the only team in the history of everything that has ever done anything wrong.killeverything wrote:St. Louis being investigated for hacking into Astros' computer system.

The Orioles were put such a whooping on Philadelphia tonight they had to bullpen phone off the receiver.

Philly was down 15 runs at the time and had used Jeff Francour to pitch 2 innings ( 48 pitches! ). It's pretty funny. Baltimore hit their record 8 HRs too.

Speaking of whoopings.....
Marlins score franchise-high 8ER in the 1st and beat Yankees 12-2
Yankees 2 Marlins 12 - Miami put up 8ER in 2/3rds of the 1st inning!
Nathan Eovaldi 0.2IP 8ER 9H
Giancarlo Stanton hit a three-run homer in the fifth, his 24th, which leads the majors.
Eovaldi ERA rose from 4.13 to 5.12

3 position players were forced to pitch last night. Not sure that has ever happened in the game on a single night.

Jesse Chavez had 11 K's in 7 innings, Ben Zobrist drove in three runs and fell a home run shy of hitting for the cycle, Vogt drove in another 2 RBI's and that bum, Billy Butler finally did something by smackin' a home run! I wish KC would have kept him!
Bumgarner and King Felix had a duel today. Madbum was perfect through 6 and a bad hop + E6 allowed a double. That double led to two runs scoring that inning. The potential 3rd out ( no score ) was literally inches. Check this shit out:
King
8IP 4H 0ER 2BB 5K 106 pitches
Madbum
8IP 4H 2ER 1BB 9K 112 pitches
Damn good game.
Pineda took a no-hitter into the 7th. In the 6th he was at 98 pitches and was close to being pulled regardless though.

This team is a hot fucking mess but the drama is making it a watch-worthy season.

This is the reason SF had such a problem with Fat Panda. Remember, he was benched during the 2010 playoffs/WS for being too fat and not being able to hit above the Mendoza line. 4 more years.Facedown wrote:Panda admits to posting on Instagram during the game last night and has been benched.

See, normally this would make me chuckle. Especially since they became a clone of everything they hated for almost a century.Machado wrote:
What's funny is that it's coming from a Yankee fan. Boston has made your team look like a joke this century. No more retirement tours to shove down everyone throats. What are you gonna do when you miss the playoffs again?
This is a role you play here, right? You are not literally this stupid. Please tell me you actually work for Nasa and you play the role of "Machado" to get your rocks off. Not unlike a CEO that goes to a dominatrix.
I guess I'm an optimist. I want to believe that.
Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread
Dodgers got a Balk Off win in the 9th tonight.......Can't remember the last time I see that. Texas got totally robbed on a replay tag at third for an out.
Dodgers 1 Texas 0
Not sure what's up with San Francisco, I keep expecting to see them on top but it's always the same, 2 to 3 behind.
The Dodgers have been winning through the injuries but the batting AVG has been slowing down and finally hit a slump. Now with the Giants coming into town who have won like 7 out of 9 vs LAD? This 3 game could give the Giants an opportunity to heat up the west.
At least it's in LA, don't think the Dodgers have won in San Fran this year.
Don't think we'll see any Kershaw, Greinke or Bumgarner
--------------------------
Harper sustains mild left hamstring strain.
The severity of the injury and whether it will result in Harper missing additional time is not yet clear. Manager Matt Williams said after the game that Harper would be re-evaluated Friday.
The play looked weird, he's been flirting with injuries but hopefully he gets past them soon. MVP!
------------------------------------
A division I don't understand is the NL EAST. The Met's? Not that being 4 games above .500 is impressive.

ARod one hit away from 3,000. That is a nice milestone. Of course the achievement will not be as celebrated as when Jeter reached 3,000 or any other players have, but so be it.
Fun fact:
Hank Aaron has admitted to use amphetamines during his plays days. Does that take away from what he achieved during his career? Or does Hank get a pass before that was over 4 decades ago and today that is not newsworthy?
Just something to ponder.

No, they're not. Damn near every old school player ( Ted Williams was vehemently against putting anything in his body ) used uppers ( not banned, not even illegal ). *rod, Barry Balco, McGwire, the MFY of the 90s accomplishments will be forever tainted because they cheated.Facedown wrote:Amphetamines and steriods are not even in the same ballpark, so to speak.Machado wrote:

None of them will get into the Hall. In fact I believe their records will eventually erased. *rod is one hit away! So. No one but you and the MFY fanbase cares. It won't even be a headline
Meaningless.

Yankee fans are supporting ARod for many reasons, but one of them is similar to the Bonds/SF Giants situation.
It's natural for fans of the team to support their own. Regardless of what infraction they made on or off the field. Its ok that hardly anybody else cares, but 3,000 hits is still an achievement that will be celebrated.
Arod was not the 1st MLB player to cheat. Hundreds before him did and some of those players were among the best of all time.
Whether is was "greenies" or "uppers" or "the coffee pot" on the right, up against the wall, etc....

MLB Cancels More Than 60 Million All-Star Votes for Fear of Improper Voting
Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reports the number of accepted votes is still greater than 300 million.
"I'm not saying we bat 1.000," CEO of MLB Advanced Media Bob Bowman explained, per Passan. "But it's between 60 and 65 million votes that have been canceled. We don't really trumpet it because if someone thinks they're getting away with it, they'll try to again."
The voting procedures have come under extra scrutiny this year with the Kansas City Royals completely dominating the projected American League lineup.
Looking at the list cracks me up. No Wai! Somethings wrong, how did Mike Trout slip in there?

Were the voting booths in Florida?

An A-Bomb from ARod, for #3,000.
Only two players in the history of MLB has accomplished
600 home runs
2,000 runs batted in
3,000 hits
Hank Aaron & ARod. Quite the exclusive club right there.
Congrats ARod for #3,000. Even better that he accomplished this at Yankee Stadium.

Braves trade Phil Gosselin to D-backs for Bronson Arroyo and Touki Toussant ( their 2014 1st round pick ).
Essentially AZ gave up what could become a very good pitcher for a backup 2B and salary relief. Arroyo's contract can be bought out next year. If any team knows how to build a farm it's Atlanta. Hate this trade for AZ.
Oh and this is still how the world sees it:
Fucking douche.

Pete Rose's notebooks released that proves he gambled while being a player. There was no proof he bet against his team to lose though.
