D Wright, the face of the franchise was unable to properly look the runner back.
C'mon, how basic was that play. Slow hitter running to 1st. Wright had so much time to properly look the runner back, get the runner's momentum back to 3rd, before throwing to 1st for the out.
UNREAL!

The rumor flying round is that the Nats are still going after Baker to manage since he can deal with superstars ( Balco, Sosa ). Everyone on the Nats underperformed....except for their superstar. If they hire Baker I move we start calling them "the Natz."
*Apparently it was a contract dispute. Black learned he would make a little less than 2 million over 2 years.

Jose Fernandez rejects Miami's contract extension. Aside from being a Boras client, it's Florida.

Metz expect Cespedes to leave.

Baltimore to make QO to Matt Wieters. A premium catcher is hard to find right now and empty on the market. I see their rationale.

Metz are a joke. The Yankees always took care of K.C. When the Mets get a chance they turn into the joke that they have been since Buckner let the ball go through his legs.

Awwwww.

The San Francisco Giants decided to send the Royals a special gift to celebrate their World Series win – Minsky’s Pizza

“The San Francisco Giants just called – and they want to send 25 pizzas to Kauffman Stadium for the Royals and their staff,” said Kenny Kantner, Manager and Partner for Minsky’s at 51st and Main. It was a pretty exciting moment – especially when the Giants wanted to include this note: "Have fun planning the parade – and enjoy the ride!"

...

Within an hour after the call, Minsky’s steaming hot pizzas were on their way to Kauffman Stadium! Some lucky Royals staff members who were busy planning the parade were first to enjoy KC’s best pizzas while they waited for the Royals to arrive home.

The Giants, of course, beat the Royals in Game 7 of the 2014 World Series. Classy gesture on their part.

The Yankee's couldn't even take care of the upstart Astros. They wouldn't stand a chance against Kansas City this year. I'm pretty sure this post season was the most clutch performance by one team ever. Congratulations to the Royals on their well deserved championship.

Talking about how the Yankees always took care of the Royals in the early 80s holds so much relevance to today.

If I were Bud I would also be offended. Listen, in the end the Nats might have hired the best man for the job. They probably just went about it the wrong way.
Did Dusty notify the team he was interested after the Nats reached out to Bud Black? If yes, that could explain why he was only offered 1 year.
C'mon, which manager takes a new job and signs for just 1 year? NONE!

You are so dumb the only thing I can think of is you were left behind
at an early age. Am I right?

I made a mistake. The Yankees eliminated the Royals for
3 consecutive seasons: 76-77-78 to win the pennant
Then in '80 the Royals got their revenge.

The point being the Mets could not make the plays & were unable to do what the Yankees have done in the past.
NYC still belongs to the Yankees. Not D. Wright and not D. Murphy!

My point is that you're using an example that is over 30 years old. Most players today weren't even born when the Yankees and Royals had a real rivalry.

Shit happens, I feel bad for Buckner because no one brings up...The single by Carter, Mitchell and Ray Knight then the wild pitch to tie the game. Nooooo it's the error by Buckner that's remembered. Didn't Boston have another game too boot? They lost game 7.

Then there's Jackie Smith, talk about the sickest man in America! He totally lost the Super Bowl for Dallas. No questioning that.

Murphy practically carried the team to the world series and Murphy didn't give up the next back to back singles.

KC was the better team, the only team I thought that could beat either the BlewJay's or the Royals was the Cards. The Card's starting slowing down going into the playoffs and slumped to the CUBS. After that it was down to the Dodgers that would have WON the world series....But a shit manager not moving a runner over then a foolish error because of Mattingly not making the shift clear lost them the game. Murphy, Mattingly, Buckner...

The Royals won the series straight up. Murphy should be praised for getting the Mets to the series then this off season sent to the Yankees for a huge contract.

Utah-Did you just grab a sports encyclopedia?

Let me be clear-I hope the Yankees do not sign Murphy. He's an average(at best) MLB Player who got hot during the post-season. Let's not get carried away with his skills or importance to a team over 162 games.

Wait.
Kill-You might have a point. Beltran is very old. He can't play RF everyday and can't be the everyday DH while ARod is on the team. Dilemma. That's why Girardi and Cashman get paid the big bucks. So fans like myself don't have to make those decisions

Ellsbury is a lot younger and still should have plenty left in the tank.

Can't say the same for Muphy. D. Murphy has never been nearly as good as both Beltran and Ellsbury have been in the game.
Same goes for about 2/3 of the MLB players currently in the league.
Murphy is a phenomenon and you just know a team out there is going to overpay for his services and be sorely disappointed with the results.

You're welcome! I figured since you didn't get to watch (laugh at) Aroid in the playoffs this year that you could use a chuckle!
Listen, I don't care if ARod goes 0-20 in a WS. As long as the Yankees win. Nothing else matters. I don't care who gets hot in a WS or who slumps.
Bottom line is winning the last game of the MLB season.

If that's the case, you're rooting for the wrong team! I'll give you this, at least you're loyal which is more than I can say for an estimate 799,000 people in Kansas City yesterday! Can you say fairweather?
Tell me about it. Last year so many baseball fans turned in their "stylish" caps for KC. This year the trend continued and now that they beat up on the Mets, there are even more KC caps and shirts to be seen.
Very fairweather to say the least.

What are your thoughts on the candidates for the managers job for the Dodgers?

*Kirk Gibson
*Bud Black
*Bob Geren
*Dave Roberts

Gibson is famous Dodger but doesn't have mgmt. experience.

Black, I think would be the best choice since he has familiarity with So. Cal and knows a thing or two about rotations.

Geren, indifferent.

Roberts. Former player with minimal mgmt. experience, So. Cal familiarity, and one of the most famous steals of all time. The former player ( or at least superstar ) hasn't worked very well in LA. Or anywhere else really.

I will always be a fan of Williams since his SF days, and of course 2001. His mgmt. decisions though made Mattingly look like Stengel. Although I'm pretty sure dealing with hairflip boy is no picnic. Dusty Baker's retarded ass should have fun with that. In other news Stephen Strasburg's arm just caught fire.

Alex Gordon declines player option, becomes FA.

Nolan Arenado drops Boras as his agent.

Indians decline Raburn's option.

CHW declines Alexi Ramirez' option.

Nats hire Mike Maddux as pitching coach. Strasburg's arm is smothered.

I'm still a Prince fan and every time, even if it's every week I feel old hearing his name after meeting and watching his teenage Fat Albert Bad Ass play in A ball Rookie league. Fucking seems like yesterday and now it's like......How many years does he even have left? He was a big pudgy 18 year old with a pumpkin sized baby face head and his father looked like he ate him weighing 300+lbs.

Good for him.

I was pondering the season after the Royals won and it still kicks my ass a team like the Pirates played their ass off all fucking year to hold off the CUBS while getting half the hype and coverage just to face a super hot Arrieta for one game and go home......Fantastic job finishing second and holding them off all season guys! Now go home.

I really wanted to see the Pirates in a series.
