Griffey should get 100%. He was the best outfielder in the game while also being the most feared player at the plate. He also did it 100% clean.

Hoffman, Griffey, and Piazza are the three that I think will get the call this year.
Do you think this is Piazza's year? I thought he would have been inducted by now. He is only one of the best offensive catchers to ever play the game.

Listen, the writers are a joke. Those guys have ruined the lives of some players by not inducting deserving players sooner or with more votes.
The only reason Piazza isn't in is because he played in the Selig-Era, same with Bagwell. I can't recall hearing if either of their names were dropped.

As for Ruth not getting 100%, look at who he was inducted with Cobb, Young, Speaker, Mathewson.

Since then it's bullshit. Mays ( the GOAT ), Aaron, Williams, Dimaggio, etc. Those ( especially Mays ) blow my mind. Jr. should get 100%. SHOULD.

Probably wont but absolutely should. If there was a record for being on the Play Of The Day Edmonds would have it. Apart from the stats and all the years he put in I can't think of another player who made the game more excitable and entertaining.

Jr., Griffey

Apparently after Greinke the Dodgers are going to go hard after Price. Friedman will learn as Cashman stil hasn't ( planning another spending spree ) that buying every superstar doesn't equal championships. 1988 forever.

Reds are finallly willing to trade Chapman. I think Boston and CHC are the only teams with a deep enough farm.

On this date 13 years ago, Bonds was a unanimous choice for his record 5th MVP award. He hit .370 with 46 home runs that season before playing in his only World Series.

When was the last time a MLB player hit .370?
Steroid era but don't tell that to Bud, because Bud wants everybody to believe he personally had zero knowledge that steroids were dominating the game at the time.

The only player that came close ( Ted Williams' friend ) Tony Gwynn and George Brett. Gywnn possibly would have hit .400 if it wasn't for the strike.

Bonds pisses me off. Made me root against my team. Without steroids he was one of the greatest of all time. Tragic.

But with the assistance of steroids, Bonds was probably the greatest of all time. Hard to argue with those stats during his PED era.

Same with Clemens. Or Clemens was close and would have been inducted. Aside from being #2 on my alltime faves list as a kid, Bill James writing about Clemens he has him as the GOAT.

There are factors which I'm aware of James didn't use. He sucks when it matters aside from his College World Series win. He never beat Pedro, Schilling, Dave Stewart ( his daddy ), Johnson, Gooden, Freddy Garcia, Jose Conteras. In fact Buckner gets all the blame, but game 6 1986 was because of Roger being a bitch. When Rajah gets beat he limps off the mound. He's done it his whole career.

In 1986 it was a blister. He was swinging a bat after said blister in game six before they put in Stanley. Blister my ass.

MFY get OF Hicks for C Murphy from Twins.

Braves make Andrelton Simmons available via trade ( asking price is astronomical, like one of NYM's aces ).

Braves to resign Pierzynski.

Heyward predicted to get 200m deal on market.

That swing alone is worth 100% of the vote.

Joaquin Benoit to Seattle for prospects RHP Enyel De Los Santos and IF Nelson Ward.

Supposedly Chapman is to be dealt soon and Boston is all in on it.

The market is massive for Ben Zobrist too. I wonder if he leaves KC. He just gave his newborn daughter the middle name "Royal."

Because Boston and the Giants win on Oakland's payroll.

Well this is a year for starting pitching with next year being a year for bull pen free agents. I've read two versions. LAD clearly wants Greinke but with Price they stated they'll let someone else eat his 200m+ contract. And I've read they're in talks. LAD is always in talks.....If they made a serious move on Price I'd be surprised. Plus their loaded with Lefty's. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say no way they go after him.

A lot has to do with Ryu and McCarthy, both had tommy john in April and May. They've come a long way with that procedure but I doubt either will be ready for the spring............?

This one passed me up.......

Dodgers claim Bonilla
The Dodgers' fascination with Tommy John surgery patients continued on Wednesday as they claimed right-handed pitcher Lisalverto Bonilla from Texas and placed him on the 60-day disabled list.

Dodgers GM admits Dee Gordon 'exceeded our expectations.....
The Los Angeles Dodgers have no regrets about the trade that sent second baseman Dee Gordon to Miami, but they're willing to admit that he performed well beyond what they imagined in his first season with the Marlins.

After flashing potential in his final season with the Dodgers in 2014, in which he made his first All-Star team, Gordon had a stellar year for the Marlins, winning the batting title with a .333 average and taking home a Gold Glove as well.

------------------------------

How many times has your team let a player go or picked one up leaving you as a fan saying .....WTF did you do that for?

Dee was an all star who just got better and better, by season's end I thought there was no way they wouldn't draw him up a contract...

I remember Clark leaving like it was yesterday. Still have some of his baseball cards.

I was hell bent when LAD let DEE go. Not as bad as Pedro but I knew that we wouldn't have a batter in the 1st or 2nd spot the whole season and it was clear Dee just hit his stride. LAD spent all that time building him up and just when he explodes they let him go.

One trade I still cant get over is Cano to the M's. Is it me or was that a stupid contract? 240m for 10years could have bought them an outfield. Fuck Jay Z, Fuck Cano and fuck that contract.

I read "Fuck Jay Z" and 29yo Cespedes is looking for a 7 year north of 100m.
Teams are visioning it hard for an older Cespedes to stay in the OF for that long. I expect the contract to be a bit more then just north of 100m.

Jason Heyward could command a contract in the $200 million range.........

LAAAA acquiresSimmons for FIVE years,$53M. Details coming.
The Braves received the Angels' top 2 pitching prospects (Newcomb and Ellis), Erick Aybar, and $3MM. I like Simmons, but I think the Braves will benefit more from this trade (and it's not because of Aybar!)...

Angels overpaid for this SS. Top 2 pitching prospects and a middle infielder plus cash. OUCH!
Here's a laughable start to the Simmons trade:
8:58am: The Mets checked in on Simmons this morning and were met with the asking price of Jacob deGrom or Matt Harvey, tweets Sherman, which is steeper than New York would care to pay.

I'd say Atlanta got the better tho neither pitcher is going to be in the Majors for at least a year or two. Newcomb instantly becomes the Braves top prospect and the Braves have been stock piling young arms with most being their top prospects. Elles is ranked high, a possible mid rotation starter....We can't forget the $2.5M either.

Sounds like this cleans out the Angles farm while it looks like another season Atlanta will be at the bottom of the division.

Simmons FIVE years, $53M and only 26. His golden gloves are nice and turned one dimensional but his bat was better this year. I think he'll be a great addition. There's a lot to be said just having your SS plugged but if he picks up the bat a bit more or returns to form with the power. I like the trade for the Angles.

Here's a video of Sean Newcomb whiffing Kris Bryant in the spring.

Brandon Crawford, Buster Posey, and Madison Bumgarner all win Silver Slugger Awards.

Bumgarner had an OPS over .740 for the second straight season, and he was even used as a pinch-hitter to hilarious results. The head line says hilarious I say one hell of a battle back.
http://www.mccoveychronicles.com/2015/9 ... vs-chapman

This is Madison Bumgarner's second award. He hit five dingers this year, which is more than the following full-time players: Speaking of Simmons including the AVG batting champ in Dee.....

Andrelton Simmons
Dee Gordon
Alcides Escobar
Nick Markakis
Yadier Molina
Angel Paga

The more I think about it the more I think he shouldn't have been on the market. Apparently everyone on the team is open for trade. It's going to be a long couple of years for Brave fans.
