Infinitely Polar Bear
9/10
Mark Ruffalo has his best performance here. Most of you may not have heard of this film from 2014, but you all should take the time to find the DVD and watch.
Story about a bi-polar man living in Boston in the 70's, married with 2 daughters.

Daddy's Home - 5

I've got to admit, I do enjoy Will Ferrell movies quite a bit.

But this one was really weak. I gave it such a high mark, because it had Linda Cardellini in it.

Magic (1978) - 6/10:
Ann Margret (weirdly not really hot in it) in a love triangle between Hannibal Lector dude and his hand puppet. It's a horror movie. And it's actually well acted and serious and not laughable. Still, kind of boring.

Madness (2010) - 5/10:
Swedish indy gore flick about a bunch of Minnesotan bros and cheerleaders (with hardcore Swedish accents) being kidnapped in the wilderness (that looks absolutely Swedish) by hillbillies (speaking Swedish with pitch-shifters). It's absolutely shit but sort of entertaining.

Martha Marcy May Marlene (2011) - 8/10:
Elizabeth Olsen has massive boobs and flees a Manson family-like murder hippie cult to live with her annoying sister (one of the American Horror Story chicks) and her bitch husband. Shit's all depressing and backflashy, that's how you know it's great. Elizabeth Olsen gets naked too. And pisses herself. Hot, hot, hot.

Interested to know you thoughts about this movie. Personally, it is one of my favorites. The acting in this movie is top notch and that goes for the entire cast. From Pacino to Baldwin.

Are you trolling? You gush and moan over the most retarded, bottom of the barrel shit, haven't seen most classic movies (You haven't seen any of the previous films in this franchise? REALLY??), and hate on anything halfway decent.
G.I. Joe Retaliation was better than Fury Road? The fucking Entourage movie is better??!!??
No way those are real opinions.

Dear Zachary : A Letter to a Son About His Father (2008). Pretty heart wrenching documentary that I could easily imagine seeing on something like Dateline NBC. From wiki :

Storyline

In 2001, Andrew Bagby, a medical resident, is murdered not long after breaking up with his girlfriend. Soon after, when she announces she's pregnant, one of Andrew's many close friends, Kurt Kuenne, begins this film, a gift to the child. Friends, relatives, and colleagues say warm and loving things about Andrew, home movies confirm his exuberance. Andrew's parents, Kathleen and David, move to Newfoundland, Canada where the ex-girlfriend has gone. They await an arrest and trial of the murderer. They negotiate with the ex-girlfriend to visit their grandchild, Zachary, and they seek custody. Is there any justice; is Zachary a sweet and innocent consolation for the loss of their son?

Precious (2009)- 1/10- I finally saw this and it's one of the most vile, immoral, racist, exploitative pieces of trash I've ever seen. It made me sick to my stomach. I really shouldn't have been surprised considering the people involved.

Ha! This was my exact feeling on this. At the time I called it "tragedy porn." I think since then the genre has been coined "black tragedy."

And it doesn't even deserve to be called tragedy. There is no plot, really. It's just a loose concoction of scenes of dehumanization. And notice how there aren't really any moral judgements: the dehumanization is not presented to show right and wrong, but simply to justify the banal sense of feminist "empowerment". The people in the life of Precious aren't presented as being evil but simply implementers of power over her. This warped world view is a mainstay of the world of transgressive fiction. And then there's the racial stuff, and bunch of other things. I could go on and on.

The Intern - 7

A quite charming film, that was not as cliche as I thought it was going to be. I mean sure, some of it was quite predictable, but overall enjoyable for what it was.

71 - 8

About a British soldier who gets accidentally abandoned in Belfast during the troubles that were happening back then. Very well done imo. Played as part documentary/part action film. Glad it didn't do the IRA great/British bad, or vice versa. Maybe even a 9 out of 10.

Cropsey (2009) - if you are a fan of true life, legit creey crime docs then his might be one for you.

Realizing the urban legend of their youth has actually come true; two filmmakers delve into the mystery surrounding five missing children and the real-life boogeyman linked to their disappearances.
