Chris Sale and Kershaw together would strike out more then most teams!

Shit, dreaming again.

The West will be the Giant's with no WC coming out of the division. The Cubs will sweep in every ROY, MVP, GG and CY category no matter how they do.
Last year was amazing for Kris Bryant. Never again in our lifetimes will we see a Rookie Of The Year that struck out 200+ times.

I'm a fan of Theo/Hoyer and would like to see the Cubs reach the holy land, but I feel ya on the comment.

Matt Duffy should have won the ROY, Yoenis Cespedes should have won the MVP, Greinke or Kershaw the Cy, and don't get me started on Trout.

Josh Donaldson signs 2 year extension with Toronto. The move is to open up for a megadeal since the Jays plan on locking he and Bautista up.

Yu Darvish expects to throw a bullpen session in March. He was fun to watch pitch. I hope he makes a full recovery.

Travis Ishiikawa's deal with Seattle fell through. He's with CHW now.

Yankees announced their promotion schedule for 2016.
Among the two highlights:

They are also going to do a retirement ceremony for David Ortiz his final game at MFY Stadium. Sure Boston did it for Rivera and Jeter, but back in the day NYY had a big ceremony for Yazstrezemski in his final game. So the precedent has been set already.

SFG agrees to 1 year deal with Brandon Belt. He's a pretty streaky hitter with concussion problems, so I can see why they keep fighting his contract wants. He was supposed to be another Will Clark, but hasn't yet.

Mat Latos signs with CHW. I would give him a shot. It's a big reward, small risk deal just not with the upside of the Houston/Fister deal. I still think he can rebound. Sure, he's an asshole, but who isn't?

Keith Law released his top farm system ratings with Atlanta highly leading at #1. The trades they made with Heyward and Kimbrel netted them a fortune. LAAAA is ranked #30, with Law thinking it's possibly the worst system he's ever seen. They have no prospects in the Top 100.

No. Why would you be angry about a team honoring a big part of their rival's history?

"Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner spoke to reporters in Florida on Wednesday and told them the club plans to honor David Ortiz during his final series at Yankee Stadium. The retiring designated hitter will make his last trip there with the Red Sox from Sept. 27 to 29. “I am sure we’re going to do something,” Steinbrenner said, per the New York Post. “We have not formally, minute by minute, figured out exactly what we’re going to do yet. He’s a great player, great part of that franchise. Everything you like to see in a player.”

With pitching at a premium why not? Unless he's a clubhouse cancer you are basically paying for replacement level. I just don't think he's worthless yet.

Speaking of douches. Bryce Harper plans to be the first 400m player "don't underestimate me." Since it's so known that he's going to NY in '19 ( the MFY refuse to comment on what everyone in baseball knows is going to happen to avoid tampering charges ), and they throw money at anything. Do you think he gets half a bill?

I will not be taking a chance on Latos ( again.....Goddamnit :x ) in fantasy baseball.

Cubs re-sign Fowler to one-year deal worth $8MM plus $9MM mutual option for 2017. Now Heyward can stay in RF to show off his Gold Glove-level skills.

Just prior to the Fowler signing, they traded Chris Coghlan to the A's for RHP Aaron Brooks...

MLB announces a new sliding rule & pace of the game rule.

As for the sliding rule, sounds like there will be quite a few more collisions
at 2nd base. The infielder must have his foot on the bag to get the out. None of that neighborhood play anymore.
The runner must slide directly into the bag. Runner will no longer be allowed to veer off, in the direction of the infielder to take him out.
Could lead to more injuries. Could lead to perhaps having the game played the right way. I have always been in favor of the neighborhood play. It is very understandable for an infielder to get the out at 2nd, without touching the bag while the ball is in the glove/hand.
Now when the runner slides into 2nd and veers off to the right with purpose to take out the infielder, that is when I have a problem with the game.
I guess that Chase Utley play vs the Mets, that led to a broken leg is to blame or credit for this rule change.

As for the pace of the game, who gives a shit. Commercial breaks are 2 minutes or 2 1/2. Cut those by 1/2 a minute and the pace of the game will decrease.

Buster Posey's injury led to the blocking home plate rule.

I get it, but I'm not a fan. I hate how pitcher's can't head hunt anymore, no more take out plays, etc. It's a pussification ( I'm not sure if that's actually a word ) of the game.

This angers me.

Lets just build a plastic bubble around the sports world and people in general. I'm just about done with sports. It's not what I grew up loving, playing and watching.

I hate it and seen it coming, we talked about it when the play happened and I think we all knew there would be a new rule but if you remember my words......I don't want to live in a world where you can't slide hard into 2nd base.

Welcome to the NFL and in that thread I get crucified for calling it pussification. People are freaked out over injuries and talk about CTE which doctors know nothing about let alone any fucking fan that reads the media and gets scared.

I hate that the games I grew up playing, watching and loving are turning into wimpy no contact sports. Funny how nowadays you'll find tougher games playing backyard football at high school and playground fields.

The NHL is my attention growing sport. At least they still play physical.

No home plate collisions, no 2nd base take outs........Fuck this new generation of pussies. People are more likely to get injured as a working man then in sports.

30 games is very fair. I'm glad he is not appealing. Serve the sentence and move on with the season. Miller and Betances need to repeat their high level of play from last year until Chapman returns.

On Chapman's bobblehead night, his head will be glued but his arms and fists will bobble. All women in attendance will receive a free can of Aroldis Chapman extra strength mace.

Just a matter of opinion is all. With Chapman, the Yankees have a strong pen and legit chance of "shortening" the game to 6 IP. I think the Royals can also do the very same with their strong pen.

I'm not into predicting the baseball season winners and losers(except The Cubs), but if you feel the Yankees will finish in 3rd, I'm curious who your top 2 AL East teams are in 2016

Toronto and Boston will finish ahead of the Yankees.

Oh, and the Cubs (the team you love to hate) will win at least 10 games more than the Yankees will during the Regular Season, although that's necessarily considered "going out on a limb."
