Took me about 15 minutes to realize who Scott Wilson was.

The Way Back (2010) - 7/10:
Bunch of Siberian prison labor camp inmates escape by foot through thousands of miles of snow and desert and shit towards India. Epic stuff. Beautiful landscapes. Good acting. Feels like a movie from the 70s.
Let's Make Love (1960) - 6/10:
Not the hottest Marilyn Monroe feature, but Yves Montand is good in anything, and there's some essential musical numbers that make it okay in the end.
There's No Business Like Show Business (1954) - 3/10:
Musical with Monroe, Ethel Merman and Mitzi Gaynor. The music is mostly forgettable and the plot couldn't be more boring. Fuck this shit.
Birth (2004) - 5/10:
Nicole Kidman is being conned by a 10-year-old boy into having an affair with him. Nice premise but also pretty uneventful. She's never naked either, despite the implied promises of child porn.

Pee-wee's Big Holiday - 8/10
If you like some PeeWee Herman, this movie delivers the laughs.
Steve Jobs - 8/10
Very well done and pretty much hits the ground running. Really liked this movie. I didn't know much about him before this movie.

Carlito's Way (1993) - this is almost a 10/10 for me. Great gangster movie that I can/will watch anytime that it's on. Al is great as Carlito and if Sean didn't win an award as shady lawyer Kleinfeld, he should have. If I ever have to get a new nym here, it'll be Benny Blanco from the Bronx.

Roy Scheider, Daniel Stern......kick-ass gritty action film. John Badham's best work up until Wargames.
Granted it spawned a shitty one and done TV series.

Jesus, I'm not much of a finance guy. More of a set it and forget it. Knowing the details behind 2008 makes me depressed 8 years later (since it'll probably happen again).

Batman V. Superman. 5/10
A complete mess. There were a few brilliant moments and they are what got it a 5. God lord it is not a good movie. Affleck is great, and I don't mind the Superman guy. But the story is a mess, the tone is dreary, and who in the fuck picked Eisenberg? Guy would make a great Riddler, but does not work as Lex Luthor. It was a $5 matinee, so from that standpoint I don't feel cheated. But barely.

Interstellar (2014)- 5/10- this was a silly incomprehensible mess of a motion picture. I thought about shutting it off after the first 30 minutes, then it got better in the third act, then it got even more incoherent. I must have asked myself "Why is person X doing this?" or "Why is this happening?" about 50 times. The script needed a page one rewrite and about an hour chopped off. The reason genre science fiction novels were niche through most of their history was because sci-fi writers (and by extension scientists) had zero knowledge of the human condition. This is what happens when gobs of money are thrown at the very same adolescent ideas.

Some Velvet Morning (2013) - 8/10:
The whole movie is basically one scene of Stanley Tucci fighting with Alice Eve. The twist is not really unpredictable, but it's still a nice change of pace. One of the most uncomfortable movies to watch, but some people are into that sort of thing.
The Green Inferno (2013) - 4/10:
Eli Roth is a dumb-ass. Not because this is his typical teenage slasher with mind-numbingly retarded characters posing as horror, but because he's obviously trying to be political here, and it's embarrassing. I'm not even sure if he's trying to make a point about environmentalism vs. big corporations or just making fun of "social justice warriors" like an ignorant child, but either way it's moronic, not to mention racist as fuck, although I wouldn't really hold that against a cannibal throwback movie. I guess he's banging Lorenza Izzo, who seems to be a terrible actress, but super hot in this. More reasons to hate him. Too bad because the scenery is fucking amazing.
The Thing Called Love (1993): 5/10
Early Sandra Bullock appearance that's not really worth sitting through this story about a bunch of lame country singers. River Phoenix is pretty shit too.
Cake (2014) - 5/10:
Jennifer Aniston's sad and stuff. Everything is tragic and terrible. Then hope and love ruin everything in the end.

Silk 8/10. I think I reviewed this once before, but I never get tired of raving about it.
There is a story here, but who cares. Michael Pitt is hot. Keira Knightly is hot. The Asian chick is hot. And they all fuck each other's brains out. What's not to love?

If you saw and liked Olympus Has Fallen, this one is more of the same thing....Die Hard in London basically. I like this formula so it was worth the money. Gerard Butler is a bad ass!

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Divergent Series: Allegiant. 3rd movie of the series....loved it. Love the entire series of books though I have yet to read them all. Bitch just keeps writing them and writing them! Anyway, can't get any better than casting the hottest man alive, Theo James, as Four. The chick started out annoying in the movies, but she's grown on me. I'm biased and give it a 8/10.... though not entirely happy with how they did some of it. The first two were much better.

Best movie I have seen in a very long time. Once again the writing is the star of this film. Whomever decided to hire this director should be commended. This director
was on point. Sly Stallone definitely deserved the Oscar nod he received.
