Don't get any better than that.

Didn't end the way I wanted but who could ask for a better series. The CUBS earned it, what a comeback. Shit way for the Tribe not to shut down a 3 game sweep. Fucking fuck.

You know, I'm starting to hate how they constantly show the crowed and how they're biting their nails, chewing on dog bones, crying with that life or death look on their face. Ok I admit, I was hoping for the agony of defeat.
Drew Barrymore can suck it!

Good Games Cubs. Enjoy it John.......

I'm sure it will be the headline for the next year with a lifetime movie inside of 6 months.

Jump nothing, I've got a TV clicker that changes channels! Block that shit out! Of course that means no papers, regular TV, sports channels, talking baseball to bandwagon fans and Nickelodeon!

Hey it's a 100+ fucking years in the waiting, I'm not that cold to not have some bit of joy for the team and their fans. I'd rather see the cubs win 3 in a row then another Yankees title.

I was more hoping for the Indians really because Francona>Maddon, I'm sick of his hype and have been for a while now.

Great fucking series though. And right now we have a very happy ( possibly drunk ) John K annnddd a very happy Bill Murray.

Heh. Dad and I just had a great talk. About his dad. Being a six year old kid with grandpa. Watching him sit in his same spot on the couch with his iced tea. His chin on his fist. He never said a word. Through the Ivan Dejesus, Manny Trillo,Dave Kingman, jerry Martin, Barry Foote years....just wow. Back in those days they didn't open the upper deck because they only sold 5000 tickets. It's kind of amazing how the ballpark dynamics have changed (attendance) while staying the same.

I've been following sports since the 70's and I cannot think of a more dramatic, incredible all or nothing championship game than the one that was played last night. The only thing that could top this would be the Leafs taking game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals in double overtime lol.

Josh Johnson, a minor league deal?? Damn...how the mighty have fallen. :( I hope he finds his way back.

Fucking incredible game last night. Congrats to the Cubbies and their fans...I'm looking at you, Johnk5150. I especially loved seeing the old timers finally get their wish. And Bill Murray.
I was listening until 3:30am to the Chicago police scanner...some crazy shit going on down there! Apparently Wrigley was breached and people were flooding it...and a naked dude was on the pitcher's mound, among other crazy incidents. Listening to the scanner and reading Twitter #ChicagoScanner was comedy gold!
Fuck sigs.

There was talks it was going to be Walt Weiss. I seen Chip Hale is managing.......3rd Base in Oakland!

Dave Stewart showed no regret and acted like he should have been retained to help finish drilling the D'backs hole to China: “Quite frankly,” “I’ve got better things to do.” Just what those things will be isn’t clear yet. “I just got to figure out what to do next,” said Stewart, “but really, I’ll be just fine.”

After hiring his buddy Stewart I figured La Russa would be on the train outta town, I did read he wont be handling baseball Ops anymore! Currently listed as an analyst and adviser? Does that mean a smaller office and more time at the printing machine for Tony? I'm sure he will be gone soon.

I think the D's owner Kendrick should take most of the blame but he seems to be cleaning the office. Interesting to see what he does on the field. I bet Greinke will be on the market at the break.

-----------------------------------------

I bet LAD loses Jansen just like they did Greinke, like Zack, Jansen was asking for the moon during the season and wants to raise the RP Bar on bank accounts putting the Dodgers in another bent over position.

It is the time of the RP's and with these huge contracts how many Pitchers coming up will start wanting to work out of the Pen. Sure they're of high value, it's not just a Closer game anymore and there's less SP's who constantly go deep. You sad it before, I can see the Bull Pen matching the Rotation.....And I don't think is right, more strain on Money Teams. Fuck I wished LAD went after Miller not to mention leaving the woman beater Chapman with pen in hand. Jansen's great n all but he isn't the top RP and I bet he BANKS like it with another team.

Isn't Chapman free this season as well? No clue what Miller is locked for but you know RP's will be getting paid this off season but I'm not sure who's available.

-------------------

Have the Rockies closed in on a Manager? I've heard Bud Black's name came up..........Bud Black....Fuck. He would have been great in Arizona.

I dunno. I thought the Dave Stewart as GM was ridiculous. Aside from the Greinke steal, the fast fall of AZ was expected.

They got Mike Hazen and Amiel Sawdaye from Boston. Those two were the last from the 2003 theory team. Plus adding Luvollo ( whom some credit for Farrell's more technical moves ) is showing a sudden and fast change in philosophy.

I'm not sure how effective a the fun early 2000's "Money Ball" really is today, but they did get a lot smarter. AZ might be the team a lot of people thought they would be in 2016.

Closer's are going to start getting paid. 2016 was practically the year of the closer to the media. A lot of those closers have mileage though.

Chapman, Davis, Holland, Ziegler, Jensen, and League are probably the biggest names. I was going to post it, but the list is long.
Have the Rockies closed in on a Manager? I've heard Bud Black's name came up..........Bud Black....Fuck. He would have been great in Arizona.
I thought Bud Black was already the new manager, but they haven't announced it yet. He seems to be everyone's choice for the job.

Red Sox pick up option on Buchholz, 13.5m. Just goes to show what a sub .500 and slightly below 5 ERA pitcher is worth nowadays.
They declined to pick up the option on Ryan Hanigan.
David Ortiz’s 2017 option was also exercised on Thursday, but the team described that as a “formality” in their release, as Ortiz is still expected to retire.

Buchholz was kind of a no brainer IMO. Pitchers are a commodity and Dave Dombrowski loves to trade.

As I stated earlier losing Hazen, Luvollo, and Sawdaye indicates a different direction in organizational philosophy. I think Farrell is gone midseason.

They have money to spend too. Remember Ortiz got a "you can't do that Papi." tampering warning about trying to future recruit Encarcion and Fernandez ( RIP ). Both the MFY and Boston seem to heading in different directions now.

Mariners officially acquire Ruiz from LAD, send LHP Vidal Nuno.

Toronto extends $17.2m QO to Bautista and Encarcion, but not Micheal Saunders.

SF names Jose Alagucil 1B coach.

Phillies extend $17.2m QO to RHP Jeremy Hellickson.

Mets extend QO to Yoenis Cespedes and 2B Neil Walker.

LAD extend QO to 3B Justin Turner and RHP Kenley Jensen.

:?

He hasn't been anything more than an interim or asst. coach in the majors yet, but he's pretty highly regarded. He won a ring in 2013, compiled a .636% taking over for Farrell when he had cancer ( Farrell's winning pct. was .480 something that season ).

Yeah, Backman is a better choice.

I'm not in disagreement on any of the Gold Gloves and for the first time in a long time the MFY has a player that actually deserved it ( Capt. Herpes, I'm looking at you ).

The only thing Sanchez has going against him is playing time. He's played enough innings to qualify, but not the whole season. I think he deserves it though. He came out of the gate like Kevin Mass.
