The upcoming Donald Trump presidency promises to throw a lot of political traditions out the window. Among them: Trump doesn't have a pet.

For more than a century, every president has had a four-legged friend of some kind. Andrew Johnson was the last president without a pet.

Johnson and James K. Polk were the only presidents who went petless for their entire term. Commanders in chief have had everything from dogs and cats to bears, tigers and even a pygmy hippopotamus.

Suggestions?

Trump no longer gets any pussy. If you think he sticks his "orange dong" into his wife, well you are a fool to believe so.
Trump is the Gene Simmons of politics. He has done a tremendous job of portraying himself as a playboy but he is far
from it. It is a fallacy and only the dumbest of the dumb continue to believe the lie.

Well, duh. But it's his fronting, don't let him off the hook because his dick doesn't work anymore. Make him own it.

America voted for Hillary. The Electoral College went another way, which Donald Trump himself said "The electoral college is a disaster for a democracy."

And he's such an idiot that when he posted that about the electoral college, Obama actually won a majority of voters AND states. (Though not as many votes as HIllary  ). Old Pussy Grabber is limping into the White House like a perp walking on a technicality.

His most ardent supporters might raise a kerfuffle, but most I know round here who voted Trump just did so because they hate Democrats and they wanted Hilary stopped. They knew there wasn't going to be a wall, and didn't give a fuck about it anyway, they aren't Southern Klan Republicans. I've said before, it's too simple to tie this down to racists, hating women etc., you know, the real nasty fringe elements. Maybe he'll crash and burn horribly and the Democrats won't have to put much effort in to get back in front again. Although I think most of us left leaners would like them to sort their shit out and get more on track with what we want rather than us having to pick the lesser of 2 evils.
Biggest problem with any of this is the idiotic idea that Trump would be the "lesser of evils". We perceive Clinton as "evil" so we elect this epitome of incompetence who will very likely bumble the country into uncharted levels of failure and collapse? Great plan.

You can take all the "nasty" elements off the table (which most certainly DID play a part) and Trump is still an amazingly stupid choice.
I think in the next election the Dems will look for someone that's fresh. As brilliant as she is, Hillary came with a lot of baggage. Decades of having her image tainted too much may have played a factor. I think the Dems are going to look for someone whose spirit, political career and campaign resemble Obama's. And by then I'll bet the country will be ready for that again.

Trump is likely to do something heinous. I don't know that it's a given that his ardent supporters will drink the Kool-Aid forever. At some point, the reality of what they're not seeing in those promises will something they can't ignore. But I digress. If he fucks up royally and does something he isn't supposed to, you can bet that at some point the cries will be loud enough that he might either be impeached or forced to resign.

Or, you never know. I don't believe he wants this job. He might just resign a la Palin before the first term is through.

This is why I get so frustrating with the system. HYPOCRISY.
Trump would have shouted from the roof tops and called the entire system a scam, that the election was rigged, etc...
TBH, I wish Hillary would have not gone this route. But she really does not have a choice and once again the media
is making her look bad in the process.

That's why I refused to vote Hilary, and yet you called me an idiot for sticking to my principles.

It would be funny as fuck if the vote got overturned, but part of me thinks fuck it, the DNC needed to be taught a lesson and maybe they will get a clue and smarten up for the future. Doubt it, they're just as bad as the Repubs for sucking up to big interests.

you are correct, each side is just as corrupt as the other and each party bows down to the lobbyists that popular Washington DC.
the entire system is flawed. neither Trump or Hillary are going to change the system. you just hope that one is slightly more tolerable
than the other. nothing else the people of America can do. this country made its bed and the country is laying in the uncomfortable bed

It is, but I have faith in America that we won't go too far off the deep end with some really stupid ideas. Trump is already back peddling on some of his insanity. I'm thinking of this as a crashing of the system for a restart. I'm not expecting things to change completely after Trump of course, it will take time. But the Republicans just as much as the Dems can't sit pretty after this election. All their mainstream candidates were owned by Trump, he looked at a weak field, saw who had the most gullible supporters and appealed to the lowest common denominator. If this is what it takes to get both sides to smarten up a bit, then maybe riding a roller-coaster for a while is what we need.

I really think a proper third party is what would really shake things up, and there's room for one in the middle of these 2 but it would take a real effort to get it off the ground. It's easier for the likes of Trump and Bernie to infiltrate the 2 main parties rather than form their own.

A third party will either overtake and supplant one of the major parties or will always be a spoiler. Our elections are first past the post. We don't get to form coalition governments like say the UK. The one with the most votes win. It will take constitutional work to change that.

That's why the "coalitions" are formed inside the parties.

An Apology to Donald Trump From Mitt Romney
http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/20 ... omney.html

Earlier this year, I delivered a speech harshly criticizing Donald Trump. Since then, Mr. Trump won the presidential election and his advisers have suggested that, if I want to serve in his administration, I must publicly apologize for these remarks. What follows is my full apology.

My earlier remarks made a series of accusations toward the president-elect that I now realize were completely unfair. I stated, “His bankruptcies have crushed small businesses and the men and women who worked for them.” In fact, Trump was merely using the laws to his advantage. I claimed, “He inherited his business, he didn’t create it,” which I now understand to have been a cruel shortchanging of his rise from outer-borough real-estate heir to inner-borough real-estate mogul. I likewise renounce, for all time, any insinuations about the business acumen of future self-made entrepreneurs Ivanka, Eric, Donald Jr., Barron, and Tiffany Trump, all of whom will have earned their success.

I likewise impugned the president-elect’s business acumen by mocking the alleged failure of such enterprises as Trump Airlines, Trump University, Trump magazine, and Trump Steaks. The future president refuted my baseless accusations the next day. As a gesture of penitence for my error, I flew to this venue on Trump Airlines and dined last night on a Trump Steak, which are indeed the world’s greatest steaks.

In that speech, I slandered our president-elect as a habitual liar who falsely claimed to have opposed the Iraq War beforehand and to have seen thousands of Muslim-Americans in New Jersey celebrating the attack on the World Trade Center. I predicted that “despite [Trump’s] promise to do so, first made over a year ago, he will never ever release his tax returns.” I would like to revise this statement to predict that President-elect Trump will release his returns when his audit is complete, or that he is right not to do so, or if necessary, both.

Most unforgivably, I called the president-elect “an individual who mocked a disabled reporter, who attributed a reporter’s questions to her menstrual cycle, who mocked a brilliant rival who happened to be a woman due to her appearance, who bragged about his marital affairs, and who laces his public speeches with vulgarity.” And on the basis of these accusations, which I hallucinated, I concluded, Mr. Trump “has neither the temperament nor the judgment to be president.”

In fact, his behavior after the election, including his encouragement of a lively public debate among his own advisers regarding my own fitness to serve and his wise decision to require this apology from me, alone refutes my accusation. A wise ruler would never appoint a former rival without first requiring him to endure a display of submissive humiliation. I now see the error of my ways, and I have come to appreciate the genius and leadership of our next president in allowing me to confess my errors in public. I recant every last word of that slanderous speech. If my horrible mistakes give him any pause as to my qualifications, I can only plead: At the time I said it, I was hopped up on milk.

And.... Here's Rosie!!! Normally when kids are up that late, most people would think they are just sleepy. And he also may not give a shit about the whole process!

Rosie O’Donnell Defends Speculating That Barron Trump Is Autistic

Rosie O’Donnell, 54, has been defending herself on Twitter ever since sharing an anti-bullying video that featured president-elect Donald Trump‘s son Barron on Nov. 21, which questioned whether he was autistic based on certain behaviors he displayed during his father’s campaign. But on Nov. 26 Rosie decided to address the matter head on by writing an emotional message on her website where she defends speculating about Barron.

“IF it is true – I tweeted from my heart. It would help so much with the autism epidemic. 1 in 55 kids is an epidemic. Donald and I agree on that and not much else. I feel he is a clear and present danger but this autism subject had nothing to do with Donald. Though i admit he does trigger me in all ways. I have no ill will for his children –or any children –and if u knew anything about me –u would know that. Donald does not have the power to change the facts to re write history so speak true – stand tall. THE WORLD IS WATCHING. For those who felt me a horror what can i say humans we try our very best and fail often. Peace out as we try to save democracy from this madman who thinks OUR country is his.”

Before Rosie addressed the matter on her website, she got SLAMMED on Twitter for sharing the video. “You have no interest in Barron. You want to stir up trouble. Play fair. Don’t attack kids, Rosie! This is low, even for you!” one user tweeted. “Insinuates he has autism. Using autism to hurt Trump and a little boy? Offensive to those with autism,” another Twitter user wrote. “So low!! Amazing that her hatred overflows to his child. You disgust me Rosie,” another user tweeted. Many of these users thought Rosie was continuing her feud with Donald by attacking his child. Still, if she was being honest in her message, that’s not the case.

I mean that there are more than one person in the senate or congress. That there isn't just one person. Vermont for instance keeps voting in Bernie who is independent. Why can't there be representatives from more parties in the senate or congress? The alternatives need to be viable, give a better choice. I know it won't happen in my lifetime, but maybe my son might see it if people start to get a clue soon.

For President there's only one winner. But not in congress or the senate.
Uhm what? I guess there are a few states that have a run off. But honestly I'm not sure what you are saying. Could you explain? Here in Oregon, again the one that gets the most votes goes to Congress. And that boob Gov. in Maine got in because of a third party.
Oh I see what your saying now. The elections generally follow the same pattern, first past the post. There needs to be an actual viable third party, though. Not a fan of the American Greens (and nether are the European Greens). Though, Jill Stein asking for the recounts is worth seeing Trump twiiter his shit :) Libertarian sounds good on paper, but it's always easier to be a Libertarian when you don't actually live in a libertarian society. What would a successful third party be? I remember there was a Congressman from Alaska who was either Libertarian or Ind. but AK was at the time extremely small population wise.

Like Sanders, though, he's third party but always caucused with the Dems. Again, it would be jockeying and under the table deal making to get third party blocs to go one way or the other. In the UK, the Lib Dems joined Cameron's Tories to form a government. It kind of backfired on them. People from the UK can correct me, but my sense is that the Lib Dems are a dying Breed.

There's over 300 million people in the country, this behemoth, with various parts of the country absolutely despising other parts..something does need to be done. I just don't personally think third parties are the savior.

Didn't this Cunt constantly say Trump is thin skinned, which we all know he is, but damn if this doesn't prove how easily she is to rattle, Trump triggers her in all ways  Trump basically triggered this bitch into throwing away a lot of her fans and opportunities to land jobs anywhere but at the Nathans hot dog eating contest, I'd say just go away but no one talks about her in a positive light anymore, The only thing keeping her in the news is her daughter choosing a crackhead over her and fat jokes from Trump, good job on career suicide though, gotta give her that much.
