It's funny, when all the cock gobbling was happening I was going to say he's the next Kevin Mass!

Not having enough time is a huge deduction. He hasn't played enough regardless of the min, it's a huge advantage to have only played like 50 games and should be accounted for. He didn't put in enough time.

What Gary Sanchez did was MORE than impressive and exciting for fans but tell that shit to Shane Spencer, Kevin Mass and so on and so on. 50 games ain't shit, no trophy for you.

WTF? No clue what Ruff or Sweeney will bring but Howie was solid when he wasn't playing utility a different position every game. When he could hold down 2B or the IF he seemed to defend and get on base.

I'll have to run over the line up and his contract but it's a downgrade. He was hampered and still did well in 2015 then this season they started pushing him around the field and off the bench more. What a waste, not to mention him in LF cost a couple runs in a postseason game. He wasn't outstanding in LF that's for sure. But when healthy and clicking he got on base. Sucks, another player I like gone just like that. Can't get use to anyone.

In a surprise to no one Corey Seager won NL Rookie Of The Year. The Dodgers have 16 ROY winners. The 1st being Jackie Robinson in '47. With Todd Hollandsworth in '96 being the last.

Micheal Fulmer takes AL honors becoming Detroit's 5th to take the honor. ( '58 Harvey Kuen, '76 Mark Fidyrich, '78 Lou Whitaker, '06 Justin Verlander )

RHP Jeremy Hellickson and 2B Neil Walker take arbitration offers. 8 others decline.

Hot Stove season is certainly underway with the Nats inquiring about Chris Sale.

Terry Francona wins AL Manager Of The Year. With what his team accomplished with the injuries he dealt with, I'm in agreement.

I think Roberts should win the NL for the turnaround LAD did. It will go to Madden though.

*edit

Nevermind! Dave Roberts won! Becoming the 2nd Dodgers manager to win the award ( Tommy Lasorda was the other ).

*edit II

Roberts was also the only skipper to be named on all 30 ballots.

Next up is the Cy. I think Verlander should get it for the AL, although Porcello has a very good case. The below 200K isn't enough IMO.

It will probably be Kyle Hendricks for the NL. I'm not in disagreement with that one either.

Max Scherzwer wins AL Cy Young ( his 2nd ) and becomes the 6th pitcher in history to win 1 in each league ( Perry, Pedro, Clemens, Halladay, and R. Johnson ).

Rick Porcello and his major league leading 22 wins takes the honor for the AL. It's good to see a #2-3 pitcher getting it pitching in front of an offense that provides 8 runs of support a game.

*ETA

Porcello first pitcher to win Cy without most first place votes. "What?" You say, and I remind you Captain Herpes has won Gold Gloves. Now you know how.

ETA II

Aroldis Chapman is seeking a 4/100m deal. That's $25,615 for every pitch he throws. If that's true it's insane for a closer and the amount of pitches they throw per year.

Trivia. Jackie Robinson was the Dodgers CF and rookie Giants CF, Willie Mays was in the batter's box. He said he was nervous and terrified about having to bat next. He obviously didn't have to.

Mariners trade Taijuan Walker and Ketle Marte to D'backs for Juan Segura, Mich Haniger, and Zac Curtis.

Walker has shown signs of being the ace. Signs, it hasn't progressed. I like what the new GM has done in Seattle so far. I need to research this one and report back. I'm not opposed and it's obviously not a another for Montero trade, but I'm a little blindsided.

I drank the Zduriencik Kool-aid though. I believed his "sabre background." I'll try to report back on this move soon.

Did a source a MLB network actually say that? I know the Cubs have Yankee money now, I in no way want them to become everything that's irritating about the game.

It's speculation really. The Cubs have Yankee money, the Yankees have Yankees money. Chapman is open to returning to NY, closers are the big deal now, and both teams are going to need him or one of the others available.

Since Chapman's issues have deterred other suitors the thinking is that it will be between those two.

Last night ESPN aired a short special about Cuba and all the baseball players that currently play there.
Will the country allow all the players to eventually leave to play in America or will the country place very strict
rules on these players and prevent them from leaving?
Cuba has great pride in their national club and once again those players are preparing for the WBC in March.
IMO, I think the country will eventually allow "some" players to leave but I don't think these players want their
entire rosters picked apart by MLB. I don't think Cuba will approve of all their great players leaving the island.

Any thoughts?

It will probably go down like the intl. Free Agent signings. Where competing mlb teams can bid on the right to negotiate with players ( ie. Matsuzaka, Tanaka ). That's just my speculation though.

Regardless of how much national pride Cuba has, mlb houses the best players in the world. A bidding war brings in revenue for Cuban teams, the players in mlb will be Cuban ( so there's a representation ). Plus, if this is a national pride instance wouldn't you rather see how your best players fare against the Kershaws or Verlanders? The Trouts or Harpers?

Also if current trends are any indication their homegrown players will still rep Cuba in the WBC and Olympics.

I couldn't see how this wouldn't be a positive for Cuba.

Fuck you Bud Selig! Change #1 has happened.

"The league that wins baseball's All-Star Game no longer will get home-field advantage in the World Series, which instead will go to the pennant winner with the better regular-season record. The change was included in Major League Baseball's tentative new collective bargaining agreement and disclosed early Thursday to The Associated Press by a person familiar with the agreement."

Mariners sign reliever Marc Rzepczynski to a 2 year deal. I'm still not sure trading Walker was the smartest move.

Talks are hearing up between Washington and Pittsburgh for Andrew McCutchen. Hairflip boy and McCutchen in the same lineup is pretty scary. The Nats still have the Dusty Baker Quandry to deal with. Guess who ain't winning the World Series in 2017.
