Oh wow. Besides being a bit of a puff piece, that's a great article. There's already, 41 years ago, evidence of his bullshit.Love_Industry wrote:
Edit: Here's Trump claiming he is Swedish in New York Times, 1976: “I'm not even Jewish, I'm Swedish,” he said later. “Most people think my family is Jewish because we own so many buildings in Brooklyn. But I guess you don't have to be Jewish to win this award, because they told me a gentile won it one other year.”
Can we really be sure he isn't trying hard to hide that the Trumps really ARE Jewish? Any "short guys with yarmolkes" out there remember going to little Donnie Trumpowitz's bar mitzvah in Queens back in the day? Is there a shtetl somewhere in Belarus or Romania that celebrates that "one of their own" became President? Come on,it's time to leak that!

Uhm, no. The UPenn student newspaper looked up the honor list for that year, he wasn't even on the list.He continued helping his father make deals while a student at the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania, from which he graduated first in his class in 1968.

Also, from that NYT link (thanks for that):
Some things never change.“His deals are dramatic, but they haven't come into being,” said one. “So far, the chief beneficiary of his creativity has been his public image.”
Another money man called Mr. Trump “overrated’ and “totally obnoxious,”
