I'm good friends with a couple people/bands mentioned in your stories and I've heard a lot more of these type of tales, always entertaining... One of them until a couple years ago still lived in the rent controlled apartment his band lived in around Fountain/Fairfax since back then. I remember sleeping and showering when I visited once and not wanting to touch anything with all the DNA that had accumulated over 25 years.

It's weird to go to Sunset now. Sure bands play, and people hang at the Rainbow...Will spinning his tunes, Ron Jeremy sweating on people... back then with the hundreds of people cruising the strip every night is just mind boggling.

But...she had liver failure. And a bad drinking problem. Which was MUCH worse, than I ever knew.

We met when she was like 19...and like I said...DAMN....just flawless. Like a Tropicana model.

But...she loved her sauce. I knew her the whole way, but we'd go a year or two, not see each other...then check in.

I have to say...when her Mom wrote me I was totally shocked. Like. "HUH? WTF!"

I had just talked to her months earlier.

But she was little too. Small body, gorgeous but loved her Vodka. Drank like a fish and I guess in the last few years it got beyond bad and caught up with her.

She's didn't make 50.

I literally take a break from moving furniture, and Michael Lean drives into Hollywood to the customer's address.

Lean films me wearing a weight belt and gloves, in the back of a 24' truck, signing the actual contract.

I worked here for 10 years, til the end of 1999.

Our main offices were at Santa Monica & Highland, in Hollywood. For anyone local, the corner where the Mobil Gas Station was (is) and the Public Storages were right next to us and across the street.

I am working a Saturday morning, dispatched 12 trucks and am also working the box store, where we sell supplies.
