Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Everybody Knows (2018) Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem. Could be an 8 or at least 7. If you like the actors and Spain that is. The plot is ok but a bit standard crime story.
Also saw Swedish Greasers and KISS Loves You on tv. 3 and 5 respectively, with the Kiss movie scoring extra points just for being set in the lean pre-reunion years and the story of the guy who became friends with Ace.
If not a Kiss fan, don't waste your time on either movie as both mostly show retards acting retarded.

Lords of Salem. 9/10. Excellent film about a coven of grungy witches trying to take over the world. If you loved the Suspiria remake, which I did, you will love this film too.

"Toy Story 4" - 7.5/10
It's a good movie, but it was still kind of unnecessary. It gets you in the feels ultimately in a way that feels interesting, but it's definitely not as strong as the others, especially 3. 3 was the perfect wrap-up.

This is really good. The critics are wrong. Who the fuck is gonna bet against Danny Boyle, Richard Curtis and the muthafuckin' Beatles?

The Secret in Their Eyes: 1/5.
This movie was a disaster. Horrible acting and very poorly executed. For a movie with Nicole Kidman and Julia Roberts, you'd expect a decent movie. This was garbage. The acting was awful, the stupid subplot of Kidman and the cop was pointless, and the writing was just dumb... Seriously, I'm surprised the studio didn't reject this and tell them to reshoot it.

"Spider-Man: Far from Home" - 7.5/10
A lot of fun, this one. They've wisely kept these standalone Spidey movies more on the light side. Some of the Mysterio shit, the visuals and CG, is trippy as hell.

He won't get far on foot. 0/10. One of the worst movies I have seen in a long long time. Terrible acting, terrible directing, terrible script. Jonah hill crying is a funny scene though.
It's just a big steaming pile of shit.

"Midsommar" - 5/10
This was actually pretty interesting for the first half of the movie. The story seemed to be going somewhere and there was some good unease being built up. Then the whole thing went on too long and just went completely off the rails. People started laughing in the theater, and not in a good way. I really didn't like the director's first movie "Hereditary," and this one has the same problem. He's clearly got talent, but It's like he doesn't know where to go with his premises or how to stick a landing.

So funny when you try to act like you know anything about movies.

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
While it wasn't a perfect movie, I think it was well-done. I enjoyed the fact that it was a slow burn and paced more like a 70's flick than the current more common ADHD-influenced editing and storytelling. It was extremely graphic which will likely be a turn off for many people. For these 2 reasons, people will either love the shit out of this movie or hate it passionately. i can't see how there is any middle ground in how one may view it.TenBenny wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 11:56 pm "Midsommar" - 5/10
