I see your point, and I'm sure that was the purpose of the presser. However, Turkey and impeachment are all over the news I'm watching. Though the presser might not have been the genius stroke the admin thought it might be.

Back to my point about the weather, the occupancy rate for Doral in June is usually quite low. In 2017, it was only 38%. Tidbits like that might not have been dispersed more publically if Mulvaney hadn't got up there and opened his yap. Not to mention his admitting that withholding money from the Ukraine was "political".

My Trumptard family on Facebook, for instance, like her and are already wondering why she's not the Democratic frontrunner as the "clear choice." The fact that she usually sides with Republicans anyway, comes from a long line of Conservative activists and has been anti-impeachment since before the Mueller report was even released does make her a shiny object for Republicans.
Could she be being set up as a possible third-party candidate in case Trump quits or is removed before 2020? Someone to direct voters to, should Trump fall?
