Way back in the day ( like, in the mid 80's) they had and excellent salad bar. And the baked potatoes were great! I don't remember them having breakfast though. But I'm not really a breakfast eater, so maybe that's why.

They do have a good maple syrup breakfast sandwich
Re: Burger King Croissanwich!!!!!
A&W sausage on english muffin with hash brown on the side is the best fast food breakfast sandwich combo I've ever had.
Better than Wendy's, Burger King, McD's etc.
Never tried Sonic, don't think we have any up here.

A&W???? Where do you find those these days???
I loved A&W so much when I was a kid!
There used to be one on the way to LA from San Diego, and we stopped there a few times. But it's been 10 years or more and it's not there anymore.
Re: Burger King Croissanwich!!!!!
I'm in Toronto but I know they still have them in the States. California locations: https://awrestaurants.com/locations-list/ca/ but some don't serve breakfast. The menus and hours seem radically different depending on where you're located.Metal Sludge wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2023 7:24 pmA&W???? Where do you find those these days???

All the A&W's up here are 24 hours and you can get anything on their menu at any time (i.e. breakfast at dinner time or a burger at 9am etc.)
They serve their root beer in a chilled, frosted glass mug. They also have root beer floats.
The breakfast sandwiches have slices of REAL cheddar cheese, not that watery "american" cheese garbage that you get at McD's and Burger King that has zero taste. The hash browns are the crispiest, tastiest I've ever had.
One morning I stopped by and just got the breakfast sandwich instead of the combo, the girl behind the counter threw in an apple pie for free. Totally awesome tasty apple-cinnamon crispy goodness that puts McD's to shame!
If you order their traditional breakfast (eggs, bacon, toast etc.) they'll even bring it to your table served on an actual plate with real cutlery and...it comes with sliced tomatoes on the side! Customer service...what a concept!

When I was a kid my aunt and uncle lived in Sunnyvale, CA. NorCal, 50 miles or so, south of SF.
I was back and forth there my entire life.
The had an A&W that still had a carhop, it was amazing!
In later years, there were a couple of A&W's in a couple of those gas stations/fast food joints. The food was the same...awesome! But they didn't have the root beer and floats in the iced mugs.
There was one restaurant left 15 years ago or so, they had that. It was on I-15, on the way to San Diego from LA.
It's not there anymore, but my oldest daughter and I think of it fondly! The did have iced mugs!

Yeah, if the mug is frozen, I guess you don't need ice. And I guess you don't need ice too much in Minnesota anyway! It's really cold there, isn't it?Wednesday 13 Fan wrote: ↑Sat Oct 07, 2023 9:42 amMetal Sludge wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2023 7:24 pmA&W???? Where do you find those these days???
