I don't believe in god, heaven, hell or anything like that. The universe works in a way that we can't possibly understand. Lately I've been wondering if life and time is some kind of circle
A flat circle?

100%. Aside from the bible "facts" nonsense I mentioned, watching the people who seemed like good people doing sketchy things was another component of my change of heart. The pastor, his family, and another "officer" in the church would often take two-week vacations to some nice places on the church's dime under the guise of "we're visiting a new church plant to meet with their leadership." People leading small groups were cheating on their spouses and going through ugly divorces. It's a business shrouded in god. I will say that NONE of those godly people (many of whom live in my suburb) do not say jack to me if we cross paths once I left the church. It can be cultish, as we know. In contrast, my mom's church is all old people who grew up doing the Sunday thing. They sing, they pray, they socialize. Once you reach a ripe old age, maybe lose a spouse, the social aspect is enough to keep them attending since your life begins to shrink with age.

What if you don't believe in God... and then your life ends... and all of sudden you realize, "Holy Sh!t! I am in Hell right now!"

You're sweating, it's hot as balls... fire everywhere... all kinds of bad people down there... like Belushi, Cobain, Elvis, etc....

Do you say to yourself... "I f#@ked up... now I gotta hang out with GG Alin and Charles Manson for eternity..." and second guess your life decisions?

In your head you're thinking, "Hey... these guys can't be that bad..." and then GG throws a handful of human waste into your face as Manson laughs in the corner.

Do you go to the gate, or the front counter and tell them, "I think they made a mistake with my reservation..." essentially asking for a do-over?

Or do you grab a crack pipe and bottle of rum and just start partying?

Well.... what happens then... any ideas? Discuss...

For the record, I don't believe in anything, but I will play along. This is a pretty dumb question. If you've been sent to hell, it's because some God knows what you did in your life and thinks that is where you belong. Do you think somebody is gonna end up in hell because of a clerical mistake? You think you're just gonna be able to talk your way out of it and they'll go "oh yeah, no problem. Sorry. The new guy, Trump, is always making these mistakes. We'll get you an Uber to Heaven right away!"

The Bible has very little to say about life after death. It has a lot more to say about life after life after death. All things made new. The fulfillment of the Kingdom of God.

The entire Bible story is about the unification of Heaven and Earth. The return to day 7 of the creation narrative in Genesis 1 and 2 in which humans partner with God to work and rule the Earth.

Also, the creation narrative isn't about molecules, its about order and purpose. Do you really thank ancient Isrealites were concerned about matter and spacetime or just looking to answer the age old "Why are we here" question?

Whether it's true or not I dunno. But the modern "Hellfire or Heaven" thinking isn't what the Bible is about. It's a small side quest that mankind decided to make the main story.
What the hell was that all about?

i did the non-denominational AOG thing for about 10 years. I played in the worship service every time the doors opened. My wife and I and kids rarely missed. Bible studies, evangelism explosion, children's church and out reach. We did puppet ministries too. We were all in. The pastor and his wife were wonderful people. Downhome people. Anyhow, I did what you aren't supposed to do. I started branching out, reading and studying other religions, ( I wanted to understand them so I could witness to them if given the chance). I studied occults too. I can't say my eyes were opened but they were no longer closed. I saw the cracks in the foundation everywhere I looked. Most of it is simply dismissed by churches. They are a for profit money and souls business. So, we slowly waded back to shore so to speak. I have some faith but when you study the bible, if you only study it, it makes sense but if you do some critical thinking it almost just becomes another book to read with some moral good points to adhere to. (like the commandments).
When someone on fb asks for prayer. I will oblige. It may or may not help/hurt but it may bring someone comfort that needs it. That's not too much to ask for even if your words are just hitting a ceiling and nothing is listening. . None of us are at the same level of faith/no faith/blind faith or grasping for someone or something to let them know they care position. Is there something out there? It has to be. If there is a clock, there is a clock maker... It may just not be the God of the bible or it may be. The dead in the graves know the answer and they aren't telling. Believing in a higher being is not more ignorant or more crazy as believing that there is nothing out there. It is an equal equation... Neither side has the answers and both are using faith to believe in their "beliefs".

Religion seemed to get a lot of hype when I was younger. I thought The Pope had the bloodline of God. When I found out The Pope was just a dude in costume I started to laugh.
I quit that story
Religion followers way more f*cked up than BLS fake bikers

I never did dumb things in drinking or drug world. Losers need that stuff to have an escape from real world . Dont need an escape from world my life is heaven everyday.

Believing in Easter bunny- Halloween witch- Santa is real - rewarding with gifts all year . Keeps me believing

Ted Poley should be The Pope The Pope

All imaginary nonsense. Religion is an occupation and a tool to keep the people in line.

Unless you're a brainwashed fool, none of it makes sense on any level.

It's just fairytales and tall tales.

I was a non-believer for many, many years. Around 4 years ago or so, some things happened and the way things were working out, made me think that ok, maybe I should look into it more. So, yes, I am a believer. Is there a Hell? I don't know...But what is wrong with believing in something amazing after we check out? What or who does it hurt?
