JBJ set up a comeback album for Aldo the following year. That was probably his price.Rocker4Real wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 5:16 am As far as JBJ, ever notice he all of a sudden starts writing a lot of songs by himself on Blaze Of Glory and Keep The Faith? I think Aldo Nova claimed to write some of "Blaze of Glory" in an interview. Jon had a ton of money at the time to pay ghostwriters and keep the publishing.

The Steinman diaries about it are amazing - to hear him tell it, they're an bunch of brainless, talentless Brummies who were nothing more than Mutt's puppets.

Steinman may be correct…Bono Nettencourt wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 11:45 am The Steinman diaries about it are amazing - to hear him tell it, they're an bunch of brainless, talentless Brummies who were nothing more than Mutt's puppets.
Has any other Mutt produced band described him as a taskmaster?
AC DC? The Cars?
He only seemed to need to whip DL into shape.

AC/DC never were a very verbal band except for Bon, but it seems like Mutt took AC/DC's sound and songs apart and built them back together for the commercial behemoth that was the trilogy of HTH, BIB and FTATR.Brainy Lane wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 12:08 pmSteinman may be correct…Bono Nettencourt wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 11:45 am The Steinman diaries about it are amazing - to hear him tell it, they're an bunch of brainless, talentless Brummies who were nothing more than Mutt's puppets.

They were probably a bunch of brainless, talentless Aussies who needed Bruce Fairbairn to enjoy this kind of sales again. Half joking but AC/DC always made better (or at least better received) albums with a hands-on producer like Mutt or Brendan O'Brian than self producing, brother producing or the famously hands-off Rick Rubin. (I happen to love Powerage but it's not a popular opinion...)
