Bumping this!!! Lots of talk about the 2 shows in AC. Bowery only holds 600 people. Are they gonna bring it and give New York an old school kick ass Motley show? Or are they gonna phone it in?

So, what's up with this, anyway? Just Motley playing a small, warmup gig again?
There's no way they play anything different than the other night, and I'm sure Vince will be reading the lyrics to Dogs of War off the teleprompter again.

You missed a great show! John 5 and Vince opened with an hour-long acoustic set. It was like Springsteen on Broadway! Then Mick Mars came out in perfect health, and they played the entire first "1981" Too Fast for Love record LIVE, no tapes, including Stick to Your Guns and Toast of the Town. Pam Anderson and Donna D'Errico showed up too looking like their Baywatch selves again. It was an awesome night!IREEKOFAWESUMNES wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 12:04 pmare you seriously and unironically asking this? name one time in the past 30 years they did anything differently or deviated from their same tired pathetic formulaic shit, ill waitDonJuanDeMarco wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2024 10:49 am Bumping this!!! This has been said a million times before so this isn't news, but Vince just doesn't care and has no desire to be there. His bad voice is almost secondary to how bad he moves and acts on stage. He seems totally disinterested. It's like he had a stroke or something. There's no smile, no enjoyment, nothing at all that draws you in and makes you excited. He's also not even trying to sing in time with the song. I don't expect a 63 year old to move around or sound like he did when he was 24, but at least try to look like you're trying to have fun. Sammy Hagar is 76 and he's having a party onstage. Bret Michaels, as goofy as he is, still seems excited to be on any stage. It can be done. Vince meanwhile looks like he's soulless.

Fuck I hate John 5. He is the epitome of limp-wristed, unexciting guitar player. There is never a point where he seems like he is feeling ANYTHING, and his playing reflects that.

First you state your expectations and then state you don’t expect a 63-year-old man to move around like he was 24. He’s a drunk millionaire that does not give a fuck about anything.
Sidebar: This John 5 thing is a total bad hire, doesn’t fit the band at all.

Re: “1981” @ Bowery Ballroom, NYC 5/6/2024
They hyped this new song up pretty large so you'd think Vince would learn the words.
Not. He's looking down at a teleprompter the whole way. Hopefully he will have it memorized in
a few months.

His playing style is nothing like classic Crue, so he's right there with Nikki and Vince.
