I knew it would take some time, but I predicted there would come a point before the election when Republicans would regret sticking with Trump. I think we're entering that buyer's remorse phase now.

Call him Daddy.

BUT is he better looking than Trump?

He seems fake, like a preacher without a wig but all the ladies love him.

Hopefully this changes America’s perception of bald men and their obsession with hair.

You may be right. Trump stands for nothing, he just stated yesterday all of the sudden he backs ' bringing a lot of' migrants into the country." MAGA is losing their minds over this. The CEOs must have gotten to him. The big food conglomerates, among others, want many immigrants.

He's been a total phony since day one. It's going to be fun watching his slow descent into madness over the next few months.

If republicans had known Biden would be replaced they might’ve chose someone else … outsmarted again!

Trump is imploding so fast maybe there is still time to replace him with Nikki Haley or even Vance. Can they do that after he’s accepted nomination? Probably not.

Trump has rehired his 2016 campaign manager Corey Lewandowski who also wrote the book “Let Trump Be Trump” so I expect his behavior to get worse even with top republicans BEGGING him to grow the F up.

Yay or Nay?

The hard right leaning DMUK is reporting it:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... peech.html

Supporters of former President Donald Trump have reacted furiously to a recent announcement that he backs bringing 'a lot of' migrants into the country.

Trump, 78, made the remarks Thursday at a press conference in Bedminster, New Jersey, outside his Trump National Golf Club.

'Basically, we're going to drill, baby drill, get the energy prices down, almost immediately, we're going to close the border and get the bad ones out,' the Republican began. 'And we're gonna let a lot of people come in.'

More immigrants are needed, he said, 'because [the US] need[s] more people - especially AI coming and all [these] different things.

'The farmers need, everybody needs,' the candidate further stated - before quickly specifying, 'but we're going to make sure they're not murderers, killers, drug dealers, and the kind of people we have largely coming in right now.'

While far from a deviation from any of his old policies, Trump's statements sparked an outcry from conservatives, including some on the far-right of the voter base.

In a reply to video of his announcement posted by the magazine The American Conservative on X, the replies were largely negative and expressed incredulity at the policy shift.

'Why is he talking like this all of a sudden?' wrote one onlooker, days after Trump told the platform's CEO Elon Musk that he still wants to 'seal the border and stop the migrant invasion'.

Another stated: 'Why does a country like the US, whose population is more than a third of a billion, need more immigration?'

'Then I won't be voting,' added another, apparently fed-up with the influx of migrants seen in recent years.

'NO MORE IMMIGRATION - WE ARE FULL,' said someone else, all replying to a re-shared snippet of the speech published later that day.

Some accused the aspiring president of flip-flopping, others of pandering to the left.

Some of the comments came from so-called 'Groypers', a group of alt-right and white nationalist online trolls.

It comes as a slew of far-right activists, including Candace Owens, have voiced concerns that Trump has been 'captured by the Deep State.'

In an appearance alongside the chauvinist provocateur Andrew Tate last week, Owens mused: 'It doesn't feel to me like the same Trump from 2015.'

She added: 'Obviously he's the better candidate. I want Trump to win as well, but it does seem that now he's accepted money that he can't be as hardcore about certain topics and certain issues as he was back in 2015 when there was no chance he was gonna win.'

Meanwhile, an increasingly heated race against Kamala Harris continues to unfold, spurring Trump on Thursday to focus much of his speech on not only immigration policy, but the economy.

For the current state of both, Trump blamed the other candidate, but made it clear he still supports immigration through the proper channels.

To that, one commenter quipped, 'We need negative immigration!', while sharing a quote from Daily Wire's Matt Walsh that branded the recent wave of arrivals from across the globe by way of South and Central America 'reverse colonization.'

Another proclaimed: 'No, we have enough people, immigration needs to be stopped until we can deal with our own people.'

Said someone else: 'Trump is echoing the talking points of open borders silicon valley tech moguls.'

'I don't support legal immigration,' another person simply said.

Another deemed the statement 'a complete betrayal of the forgotten Americans who made the Trump revolution possible', despite Trump already stating several times he only wants to stop some of the border crossings seen over the past several years.

Those who immigrate legally are welcome, he has repeatedly said - while those doing so under the pretense of seeking asylum are not.

This fact appeared lost on those who spoke out against the ex-president, who in his speech falsely claimed that 'virtually 100 percent of the net job creation in the last year has gone to migrants.'

He further claimed that he had heard the growth was 'actually beyond that number, 100 percent,' in an apparent attempt to bash improvements to the statistic seen under Harris and Biden.

He also said Harris was a more ideal opponent for him than her predecessor - despite shifting polls suggesting otherwise.

You MAGA are so fucking dumb that you haven't yet realize that Trump will say/do *anything* to get elected. That's all he cares about, he doesn't actually give two shits about any of the issues.

Now, he apparently has been told or realized that not softening his stance on immigration will lose him the election so he's desperately trying to change the narrative.

He's a piece of shit through and through. But the joke's on all you dumb shits that took 8 years to realize this, and still may not.

I love Walz.

initially I was rooting for Shapiro, for the obvious PA association, and the fact that he gives off an Obama vibe.

but that photo of Walz, surrounded by children embracing him after he signed the free lunch bill, is what made me Team Walz.

you think Trump would allow that for himself, or that children would even feel comfortable enough around him to show such a display of affection?

there have been countless studies showing that the VP pick doesn't change the race is any substantive way, and that may be the case.

but I feel that Walz may be the exception to the rule.

if Trump loses in November, Tim Walz can probably take some credit for that.

I worked sound at a church today, wearing a shirt that says 'White Dudes for Harris'. Being in the deep south of north Florida, I wasn't sure how it would go over.

I have never regretted being married more than I did today. It was like putting on a guitar in 1988. Damn near every woman in the room found a reason to talk to me. So many hugs. For the message on my shirt. I came home and ordered a different Harris Walz shirt for next week.

Trumps done.

The republicans fucked themselves by putting enough judges on the supreme court to over turn RoeVWade. Now many fear if they were to take the oval office, they would do more damage to woman's right to abortion.

I have said this before, I really dont think Trump wants the job. Sure he wants all the free money, and media attention. Just dont think he wants the white house job. So he is either really Bat Shit Crazy loosing his shit over crowd size, or he is Smarter than people think, and just doing shit to keep him out of the white house. Then he can scream again about voting fraud and bla bla bla and watch all the free cash come rolling in.

People came out of the wood work to make sure Trump lost the last election, I think that will happen again. Time will tell.

Really?

You really think Trump is going to get 111 electoral votes?

I'm sure you have no desire to actually put money on that, right?

I'll give you and over/under of 150. Let me know if you're up for it. You're not, because you're just talking out of your ass. But if you are, let me know.

Never happen. The South and Midwest are baked in. If the Biden map holds, they'd still need to flip NC and FL to get to an Obama II level. To reach Obama I, OH and TX would have to fall.

Net job creation? I guess he means that there was a net job growth, but at the same time some natives lost their jobs to migrants.

Oh … yeah keep the legals, allow in immigrants that aren’t murders to enter legally, kick the illegals and murderers … nothing new there …. big difference from “Trump said he wants all the immigrants in the whole world and beyond” … no bombshell.

It’s a statistical tie at the moment but Harris will get a big bump this week, she’ll another bump at the debate … I don’t see any bumps in Trump’s future.

269 - 269 is being talked about a lot though … as of today.

I really think his failure to "build a wall & Mexico is going to pay for it" is what is going to sink him. I suspect a lot of the undecideds who voted for him for that then, will vote Harris now. With that said, it remains to be seen what "open borders & free health care for everyone" ultimately brings. Regardless who wins, it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

Walz is a hoot, he's got tons of energy and I can see why Harris chose him.

You know your campaign strategy is in trouble when you're trying to denigrate a service member of 24 years. After that length of time, you get to call your shots on retirement. Editorial pages are filling up with military vets questioning Vance's thinking.

Dude, people used this exact line of thinking in 2016 too, and clearly they were wrong. Stop it.
Both points are correct here.
I mean... the first thing Trump wanted with this whole thing was the attention. He got a big taste of it with The Apprentice, but like any classic narcissist, he wanted more.
He was smart enough to know that being the president pretty much guaranteed 24/7 attention.

The next thing he wanted, the access to money that wasn't his.
And what better way to get more money into his pockets than to get politicians to ensure that it continues to pour in.
Note the ethics violations during his presidency.... all the outside sources of income he was supposed to divulge when he took office... he flagrantly broke those laws.

I don't think he actually wanted the job... if he did, he'd actually have some stance on serious issues from Americans. Any talking point he did half heartedly address were clearly the words of someone assisting him with putting money in his pocket... and using every media platform to ensure those got out. He wouldn't give a shit about anything he's spouting about if he wasn't being paid to do so.
All those press conferences in front of loud helicopters (when he actually did have any of them.... remember, 70% of any 'press releases' was through Twitter) where he'd do little more than play playground-insults with any critic of him gave that away.

Interesting take.

I just vividly remember liberals getting more and more nervous in leading up to 2016 as it seemed more and more possibly that Trump could actually become president.

There were many coping mechanisms employed, and there was absolutely a "he's not even serious, he's just doing it for his ego, he's going to drop out, don't worry" narrative flying around for awhile there.

It just seems even more delusional to apply that this time around, considering he literally was president for 4 years already.

I've thought this for a while.

In 2016, he didn't expect to win.

Now he knows how much work the job takes....he doesn't want to do it. His hand was forced when it was Biden....he would easily beat him (though I wouldn't vote for him). Now he has an out. He can keep claiming rigged elections, can keep holding his ego rallies, he can keep robbing the MAGA crowd of money for their flags and hats, and not have to do ANY work.

This is why he is doing NOTHING to win the swing voters that will determine the election and why he is only campaigning in states that he already knows he will win.
