City scum.
East Coast–West Coast hip hop rivalry
Manchester United vs. Manchester City britpop rivalry?
No-one in Britpop was a Man U fan that I can recall. They were the 'establishment' team, reputedly marketed heavily to the middle classes elsewhere in England (contemporary joke - "Q: how many Man U fans does it take to change a light bulb? A: 2, 1 to change it, the other to chauffeur him there from London") and abroad. City were (and are) of course just as corporate but somehow kept the 'working class' image. (I hate club football in general).
One of my ex-housemates cleaned Noel's and Liam's houses. They got gifted so many clothes that they gave a lot away so I had a pair of 501s for a few years that had belonged to one of them for about 5 minutes.
IDGAF about the reunion but it'll be inescapable in the media for a while longer, then all next summer.

Stone Roses. Also Bonehead from Oasis.
This is the One by them is also Uniteds walkout song at Old Trafford.
Like I said, I hate club football. Or more specifically the dumb tribalism. Can't believe the bonehead Gallaghers actually allowed Bonehead the Man U fan into the band, given the shirt story above and similar antipathy that I read about BITD.
Apparently, the brothers are being charged 10 X the going rate to insure this tour. The company involved thinks chances are pretty good that there will be multiple cancellations or the thing just implodes altogether before it reaches the finish line.
This band was stupid from day 1
Brainwashed generation to think this is cool
Drama is more fake than SEC football game
Hopefully they stay out of my world and do stadiums with Coldplay
But I’m sure GNR will pick up these dorks
Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"
I shouldn’t be, but I’m a little surprised by the potential demand that this has even for England
The rumor is that although they’re putting I think for Wembley Stadium dates on sale they actually have 10 dates on hold. And the expectation is that they’ll break Taylor Swift’s dates at the stadium record.

Being from England i am not surprised.
I cannot emphasis enough how massive they were, and how engrained in British culture they still are. Unfortunately.

Both Beady Eye and the other project got a pretty good amount of hype, at least initially, in the US. Probably as much or more than the last Oasis album, at least on the rock radio I listened to at the time. I know it doesn’t mean much at all these days (the last alternative radio station in my city even shutdown earlier this year) but it seems everything Noel put out at least got the courtesy of being put into rotation by programmers or tested. So it was like Oasis has been gone long enough, but it’s not like they were completely forgotten and the brothers have stayed in the press the whole time. I was a freshman in high school when their first album came out, I guess maybe a Junior when their big follow up was out. They were big with the small town teenage jocks I grew up with. So I could see them doing well with middle aged douchebags in Middle America singing along to “Where were you while we were getting high?”
I'm not fully versed in his solo stuff but Noel released an album around 7-8 years ago that had a couple good songs in it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjwiwepvS1o

Don’t get all the hate
The first two albums are good to great rock n roll.
The problem is there were more than 2 albums. Definitely Maybe is a classic, the second made them superstars, the rest was boring, coked out, "believe your own hype", uninspiring Beatles rip-off, bollocks.

I'd add the 3rd album to the mix, I love Be Here Now but after that, they put out 4 mediocre albums. Hence them playing clubs during the end of their run in the states.
I am never surprised by a reunion of a band that has tens of millions of records. If a band that had no hits, and at their peak drew maybe a couple hundred, those are the reunions I am surprised by.

I am sure the brothers are being well managed and their personal contact will be minimal.

Noel said that he should have released The Masterplan as the third record.

yeah, but many bands have beloved careers off on less than that (Guns N Roses?)

A purported document was released on X that showed a dates reserved for the Rose Bowl, Solider Field, Citibank Field (NY) and I think Fenway.
I would be genuinely shocked if they could fill a stadium here, when they couldn't do arenas in their prime?
But I have been wrong about the demand for this reunion the whole time.

I definitely feel you are underestimating the demand for these shows. These will be event shows that people will see even if they are just a casual Oasis fan. I think many people also realize this could be a one time thing and then the Gallagher brothers go back to hating each other.

He is. He already underestimated their appeal in the UK. Which was bizarre.

They were/are a huge band, but people spending silly amounts for tickets seem to forget that they were always boring live, even in their prime. Some great songs and records though.

Nostalgia is powerful.
