When I first heard "Talk Dirty To Me" on the radio I thought it was Black n' Blue. Cut me some slack I was only 12 at the time

I dig Heaven's Edge (no way out) and was very surprised to find out it was Tesla. Had no clue who it might have been, but definitely dig the tune

First time I heard Head East's "Never Been Any Reason," I though it was Bachman-Turner Overdrive.

First time I heard Sweet's "Love Is Like Oxygen," I thought it was Sugarloaf.

First time I heard Glass Tiger, I though it was Simple Minds.

First time I heard later-period April Wine, I thought it was Aldo Nova.

First time I heard 90s Alice Cooper, I thought it was Garbage.

First tiem I heard Queensrhyche I thought it was Iron Maiden. I think the song was The Lady Wore Black. Bruce Dickinson was the only guy I had heard who sang anything like that before.

Thought "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress" was CCR, "I can Help" was Ringo (he covered it later), and I thought "I've Seen All Good People" and "Suite Judy Blue Eyes" were by the same band.

When I fist heard them, I thought "And Fools Shine On" was Soundgarden and "That Don't Satisfy Me" was the Black Crowes.

Both are by Brother Cane.

This might be hard to believe, but the first time I heard Smells Like Teen Spirit on the radio, I thought it was...

Metallica.

WAIT WHAT?

Holy shit. WHAT THE FUCK. I have never had less doubt about anything else that didn't involve the faithfulness of a woman.

Okay, add that one to my list.

I don't know if this counts, but when I first heard Coverdale/Page I thought Jimmy Page must be the singer in Led Zeppelin because the singer sounded so much like Robert Plant to me.
